Beta Tester 2.0 (Bishamon/Tao)

There was a large crowd inside the metal warehouse that doubled as Arawn's secondary lab and the 12th's squads storage area. New had spread among the various squads about Arawn's strange project. Although the details weren't known, the fact he was paying well for people's help had sparked quite abit of commotion. There were more than twice the amount of people here this time. The first testing had barely gotten eleven testers. Normally such a number of applicants would be a good thing, but now the process would take even longer.
"Do we just tell some of them to leave." Arawn asked Simone and Bryce while he looked over the wavers he had everyone sign first. Everything was in order.
"I'm sure Rover can handle them all." Bryce beamed confidently. Arawn could only hope the hunchback had taken the time to fully reprogram the android this time. He would hate to explain why a robot killed a shinigami during this experiment. "All the system checks were optimal." Arawn nodded it was good to have more people test the robot. That way they got more feedback and further tested the robot's abilities. Still this many people wasn't expected. Simone was the one to come up with a solution.
"Just get them to team up on Rover." she stated simply. "He does have several multiple opponent programs, why not test them out as well?" She had a good point. More people; more opponents. Bryce nodded, but he would have nodded if Simone would have told him to jump off a cliff. Fine, it seemed a good idea. Arawn stepped away from his two assistants and towards the waiting group of people.

"I'm sorry for the wait." he began. "We'll begin testing shortly, but there will be a slight change of plans." There were mutterings from the crowd. Arawn waited for them to stop before continuing. "Due to the number of testers, we wish to expedite the process by pairing you off." The shinigami gathered looked at each other, some groaned, and others looked indifferent. "This will not effect your pay in any way, but a slight bonus to the more active group. As well as a penalty to the less effective pair. " The groaning stopped and the lost enthusiasm was restored. Simone grinned, Arawn did know how to work a crowd.
"I will now select the first group!" Arawn said raising his hand for silence. He quickly scanned the crowd eying the possible combatants. His vision passed over the many faces then locked on one he recognized. Bishamon was it? He had met the young man before. It was shocking he had forgotten him so quickly. "You will be the first of the pair." he stated pointing at the young shinigami. His eyes went back into the crowd. Once more his eyes locked on a person. It was a young looking girl. Well she could be quite old as he'd learned from his time in Soul Society. Here too he had the slight feeling of familiarity. But he shook the feeling away. "And you will be the second." There were groans, shouts, and snickers from the rest of the would be warriors. "Everyone else to the viewing room please, refreshments await." Begrudgedly they moved to the door and entered the protected area. Once they had all left Arawn nodded to Simone and Bryce. Both turned and began typing on the terminals. The robot R.O.V.E.R sat in the middle of the room. "I suggest you two take your time." was all the redheaded shinigami said before stepping away from the two shinigami and the metal droid. The metal man jerked to life.


"TARGETS ACQUIRED." came the mechanical voice "INITIATING BATTLE SEQUENCE 21." The metallic monster lunged at Bishamon with it's inhuman speed. Mid air it's left leg shot out to roundhouse kick him from the right.

Bishamon had a feeling that he would be picked; after all he had met Arawn before. He didn't intend to come to this practise, but rather to take up Arawns offer of teaching him a technique that he had used in their little spar. But on his way to the squad 12 barracks he saw a notice about this test; and he was fresh out of money, and this did pay handsomely, so it couldn't hurt to give this a go, however he didn't expect so many people, the thought of fighting with this many people watching didn't suit his taste, but it couldn't be helped.

Once Arawn announced that they would be pairing up to take on this experiment of his, the thought wasn't pleasant, he hated fighting in pairs, or groups, people constantly getting in your way, interrupting your strategies, but once again it couldn't be helped, at least he somewhat knew his partner, Tao? I think that was her name. He gave a nod to the young female, and then thought it would be best to check out his so called opponent.

The robot did indeed look impressive, but it did look slightly flimsy, is this really suited for combat? It doesn't look like it can take a hit. But he knew Arawn was no idiot, the fact that this many people turned up and he suggested to pair up, would suggest he has quite a bit of faith in his invention.

But how do i fight it? I can imagine he will be pissed if i were to break it, he thought, he didn't draw his blades as of yet, he was about to ask Arawn if he wanted them to go all out, "hey Araw..." his question was interrupted as he saw the robot dash at him with incredible speed, he saw the kick coming to his right, he didn't have enough time to draw his blades, and he was caught completely off guard, he performed a cross block with his arms, the mechanical leg smashed into his arms, this wasn't the smartest move, as Bishamon flew back doing multiple roles in the process, he quickly got to his feet, his arms were still shacking, the kick was a lot harder than he thought. "Damn it" his arms where slightly numb, he was going to hold back, but now it looked like that wouldn't be possible.

He drew both of his blades and used shunpo to close the distance, and then took two wide swings with both of his blades, aiming for the robots, thin mid-section.

The girl had been told about the little experiment going on in a warehouse used by the 12th Division from one of her fellow squad members. From what he had told her, their 9th seat was trying to create a new type of training equipment using a salvaged robot. He hadn't told her much about the thing, simply that watching it perform had been one of the better experiences in his life and that it would be in her best interest to go; perhaps participate a little and gain some battle experience. Being the newest member in the 13th Division, she knew that he probably only meant it as a joke, but it still triggered something in her brain. Did they really thing that she didn't know how to fight? That she was just some little girl who liked to play dress up?

Glancing at the crowd around her, Ailin noticed that there were quite a few squads represented there. Even a few Academy students had been able to get the day off; their red and blue uniforms sticking out in the mass of black that surrounded them. Hearing a familiar voice carry over the crowd, she shot a confused look at what she assumed was the man conducting this entire experiment. A man she felt as though she met before, but couldn't remember where. 'Pairs? Maybe this isn't such a good idea. . . I can't worry about someone else in the room with me.' For a moment she thought about turning around and leaving, but before she got the chance she caught the mans's gaze locked on her. If she backed out now, it would look like she was scared. Not only would she be disgracing herself, but her division as well. Letting out a breath, Ailin gave a small nod as she made her way up to the front to get a better look at what she would be fighting. Glancing at her partner, she blinked a couple times. She had met him not too long ago, but couldn't remember his name. Taking a moment to pull her long white hair into a tight bun on the top of her head, she swung her zanpakuto into its natural position across her back, the hilt just above her left shoulder blade.

Before she knew what was happening, the thing burst to life, its body coming straight at the two of them. Not that she had been planning on discussing strategy with her partner, the fact that she didn't get the chance didn't sit well with her. She didn't know how this person fought, she had never seen him in battle, and she didn't know what he expected from her. But that's how real battled worked wasn't it? Not knowing what to expect? Jumping back a few meters, the girl thought it best to try and keep a bit of distance between her and the thing. She didn't know how it moved and she didn't really want to learn that information from taking one of its hits.

'He said take our time and you're already going for the kill?' Her eyes narrowed as she watched her partner pull out two blades, moving his body close to the thing. Thinking fast, Ailin started chanting, she didn't know if kido would work on it, but she couldn't just stand around helpless while he did everything. Slashing her right hand across her chest, she drew the symbol for the paralyzing kido in the air in front of her, the chant leaving het mouth as she lifted her left to meet it. "Disintegrat, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat! Bakudo #9: Geki!" Her eyes never left the metal humanoid, her entire body glowing with a red aura as she attempted to stop it in its tracks.

Rover made no effort to dodge Bishamon's twin attack. The fact of the matter was it didn't have time to react to the sudden charge. The two zanpuktos glanced off it's metal plating. The weapons sparked as they made contact and fell away. There were now deep scratches in the droid's sliver skin. If it had been a living target such an attack would have been lethal. But the shinigami's target was an unfeeling, calculating machine. Rover pulled his right arm back to punch just as Ailin's spell enveloped it. The red grow surrounded it's body, but then it's metal changed from silver to a dark crimson. The red aura faded just as quickly as it came. The metal's silver sheen returned in a matter of seconds. The robot jumped away from Bishamon as it reassessed the situation. The robot had a radar similar to the one give to shinigami via their phones. It had sensed the weaker of the two targets and decided to attack Bishamon first. Now it shifted it's focus.
"It's a special alloy mixed with a sekkseki polymer!" Arawn shouted from the far side of the room. "It gives it some defense against kido spells and other reiryoku abilities." he quickly informed them. Of course said armor was quite heavy making in the feats of speed the robot made all the more impressive. If he lessened the armor it could probably surpass shunpo. But then it would even more vulnerable to attacks. Not that it needed to, it was already fast enough.
"WEAPON DETECTED. ARMAMENT PROTOCOL INITIATED." the robot spoke. Blades extended from between the robot's fingers. The five inch knives glistened in the electric lighting. The hands closed into fist allowing the new weapon full exposure. It raising it's left arm at Ailin. The robot's forearm suddenly launched like a missile aimed at the girl's body. As the silver bolt flew it drew behind it a long cord keeping it tethered to the rest of the body.

Bishamon let out a grunt when his attack only caused a scratch, damn it, i put a hell of a lot of power in that, he then saw the robot about to deliver a punch, his eyes widened, he couldn't dodge, his last attack he preformed kept him slightly of balance. He flinched as the robot twitched, but nothing happened he looked back at the robot, it had a red aura around it, Geki? But who, he completely forgot that he wasn't the only one fighting, his partner had preformed a kidou.

Bishamon saw the opening and was about to perform the same attack in the same position, hoping to increase the damage from his previous attack, but the robot easily broke the kidou and jumped back. This added to Bishamon's surprise, breaking the kidou in such a small amount of time, but then Arawn confirmed that kidou won't be very effective against this machine.

He kept his eyes fixated on the robot, thinking that it would target him again, he saw the large knives appear from in-between his fingers, this thing might actually kill us if we’re not too careful. He go into his stance and waited for the robot to attack him, but the mechanical humanoid turned its attention to the girl, and shoot a fist like a missile at her, guess i can return the favour, Bishamon ran at full speed to get in front of the girl and crossed both his blades to make an 'X' shape, the fist smashed into the blades, pushing Bishamon back about five metres, he managed to keep his balance and also stop the fist. He turned his head slightly to look at the girl "attack!"

Her eyes widened at the sight of the robot easily tossing her kido aside like it was some cheap parlor trick. She knew she wasn't the best at learning the Demon Arts, but she made sure that she mastered the ones that she knew. She needed to make sure she mastered them before she even fathomed bringing them into battle with her. 'Sekiseki poly-' Her thoughts were interrupted as she saw the bladed hand coming straight for her; the long wire that kept it attached to its body catching her eye, paralyzing her for just a moment as she was entranced with it. The moment of distraction would've caused her death if it had not been for her partner jumping in the way. Hearing the sound of the boy's voice pulled the girl back to reality, her mind immediately moving back to the job at hand.

While she would've loved to hit the same spot on the metal humanoid's waist her partner had already damaged, she wasn't anywhere near fast enough to get into that position and strike before the thing could strike her. Putting herself in such a position while hwe partner was busy defending another attack wasn't the best idea so she focused her mind elsewhere. 'The metal plating that the robot is covered in is able to resist kod attacks, but is that wire the same way? The insides of this thing. . . Are they just as resistant?' Pulling her zanpakuto from its sheath on her back, the girl gripped it with her right hand: another incantation leaving her mouth. "Burn the blades that have been lost. Hado #8: Blade of Flames!" With the last word leaving her mouth, energy poured out of her right hand, the kido encasing the blade of her weapon.

Knowing that the position she was about to put herself in would endanger her physical being, more kido ran through her mind. If needed she was ready to create a shield before her or possibly push her partner out of the way. She had basically been told that kido would only be a weakness here, but brute force wasn't exactly the way she handled things. Slipping past the boy, she ducked beneath the wire, her zanpakuto slashing above her with as much power she could muster; the attack intended to sever the arm from the android's body. Even if the thing was resistant to kido, she hoped the blade itself would be enough to cause some sort of damage.

Arawn couldn't suppress his grin. . His initial intent was pair to offset Bishamon's strengths and close fighting. He picked the girl thinking she wouldn't in his way. Her use of kido showed she might be of ranged fighter. He had gotten that impression from the way she carried her sword. But it seemed there was more to her than that. She was quick to noticed the cord that connected the robot's rocket limb and attacked. It was a weakness to be sure. The polymer did grant it some measure of protection, but it couldn't be used everywhere. Using the same materials throughout it's construction was impossible. It was just plain metal.

Rover had begun to retract it's arm as Ailin charged forward. The action came too late as the inflamed blade cut into the metallic cord. It's motion was the only thing that saved it from being completely severed by the young woman's deft attack. The zanpukto cut into the cord as it pulled away removing some of the power of the attack. But the damage had been done. No only had it cut into the coil, but burned it as well. The forearm reattached to the body and the fingers twitched. Two of the blades between it's knuckles retracted then extended once more. The wrist started to spin 360 degrees then stopped. "DAMAGE SUSTAINED." its stated not taking it's single eye off the two targets. It held up it's left arm and a 2ft metal spike extended from the underside of the wrist. There was a crackle as electricity arced along the metal. The blades on the right hand retracted as a matching spike came from it's wrist as well. "INITIATING BATTLE SEQUENCE 30." The metal man rushed forward the young girl slashing low from the left. It's right arm held ready for a followup strike.

A small grin appeared on Bishamon's face, it appeared that his partner found somewhat of an opening, the flaming blade did do something, but the attempt to completely remove its arm, didn't work, although it did seem somewhat damaged, well that's good to know, it's not invincible, but there are few openings in its defence, Bishamon analysed the situation, his partner seemed particularly skilled in kidou, and he was a close combat fighter, so the sensible thing would be to fight the robot up-close, and let the girl attack from a distance using kidou, but this was no ordinary opponent, firstly it could probably better him in close combat, and secondly, it didn't appear kidou would do all too much damage.

A shocked expression jumped on his face, as the mechanical being, sprung two long blades from each arm. Bishamon readied himself, expecting the robot to launch an attack on him, but it didn't, it went for the girl, probably the logical thing to do. Right what do i do?! Sorry, but you'll have to defend this attack on your own. When the robot got close to the girl, Bishamon ran behind the robot, and as it begun it's swing, Bishamon crouched down and simultaneously with both blades attempted to stab the back of each the robot's knee joints; hoping that he cause more damage going for the joints.

The young girl dodged right as the mechanical beast lunged at her. Unfortunately that was just as the machine had planned. She moved right as it began it's second strike from the opposite direction. The right arm now swung from high down at her from the it's spike leading. The man's attack to the robot's back did not go unnoticed as the left arm having completed it's task moved in a complete 180. Without looking the arm attacked the man from left with a wide swing.
Arawn grinned from his vantage point across the room. The robot wasn't like a human it could turn all it's joints 360 degrees without any trouble. Front and backwards attacks were hardly a problem of it. With it's built in radar it didn't have to look to aim most attacks. It wasn't the best of counter attacks, mind you. But the man would have to duck to avoid the strike hampering his own attack. Or he'd be in a similar situation as the girl.
Her evasive maneuver had put her right into harms way. Her mind reeled as she tried to think of a spell to get her out of the situation, nothing came. There was no way to dodge as she was already in motion and so she panicked. She raised her arm to guard the spike from hitting her face and instantly wished that she hadn't. On contact her body convulsed as the electric current raced through her body. Thoughts scattered as a scream tore itself from her lips. Eyes rolling into the back of her head she fell limp to the floor. There was a small groan as the still smoking body hit the ground. She should be fine, the voltage was equal to a powerful stun gun, just high enough to knock a low level shinigami down.

As the blades edged ever closer to the back of the robots knees, he saw some movement, the robot lashed out; even if Bishamon were to continue his attack, the robot would deliver a devastating blow, something which would probably knock him out, or hurt a hell of a lot, so he ducked down to avoid the strike and jumped back. This wasn’t good, if the robot got one decent hit, that meant this fight would be over, fighting with this in mind also hindered Bishamon’s fighting ability. In a fight you usually expected to be hit by the opponent, so you just tried to get a better shot in, before the opponent attacked. But even if Bishamon was to get a good shot in, that would leave him open for a counter attack, and then if he were to be hit, the fight would be over. So the only option was to chip away at it, and get away from the robotic humanoid before he attacked. But then there was that whole, extending his body parts, so even if he did manage to get away, he still wouldn’t be out of reach. He was probably over thinking it, and getting himself worked up over nothing.

He looked at the girl to see how she was holding up, but the results weren’t good, and she let out a scream, and then dropped to the ground, looks like she was out cold “damn” Bishamon didn’t usually rely on others in a battle, but he didn’t think he could defeat this thing on his own, although, he didn’t really have to defeat it, this was essentially training. That thought put him at ease somewhat. So he charged once again, as he got close, he released a flurry of jabs and swipes with both blades, in varies places on the robot’s metal torso.

The robot stood over the still form of the girl before turning completely to face Bishamon. The man had managed to avoid the counter strike.
"TARGET ELIMINATED. ONE TARGET REMAINS" came the mechanical voice. It wasn't that the machine was gloating over it's partial victory, it was merely stating fact. Arawn could only imagine how much such a statement would demoralize an opponent. Still it seemed the words had little or no effect on Bishamon. Probably because he wasn't on good terms with the unfortunate young woman. Without much hesitation he pressed on. The robot waited for the man's assault, the electric spikes still crackling with their high voltage. The first blade was met by the spike. If the shinigami's handles had been metal as well the current would have finished him. The second strike was also blocked by the unrelenting machine as it matched the man blow for blow. Both opponent's hands became a flurry of movement as the robot moved deftly to block all the attacks coming from the dual wielding shinigami. It was impressive to say the least. Sparks flew off each time the weapons met. Not just from contact, but the electric current running from the battle droid's spikes. It was a very spectacular stalemate until the robot suddenly brought it's foot up to kick Bishamon in the stomach. While still standing on one leg it now swung it's right arm high aiming for his head. One would think it was amazing balance, but such a feat was nothing for the marvel of science and technology.

Bishamon's blows were being blocked and parried, but he wasn't letting up, and neither was the robot. This was all Bishamon could do, he couldn't increase the speed of his attacks, nor stop the onslaught, or he would be leaving himself open. But then, the mechanical humanoid broke the deadlock, a kick, and a swing of his right, aimed for Bishamon's head. It was amazing it could attack in such a manner, and still look completely balanced, as it did. There was no chance to avoid one of the attacks, either get punched, or kicked, he quickly came to a decision. He ducked, to avoid the robot's fist. But now the kick crashed into his stomach, it felt like it just kicked a hole in his stomach, the pain was sickening. Bishamon flew back, trying to stay on his feet, as he skidded to a halt. He tried to gather his breath back, but this showed that he was hurt; badly. Wheezing, and panting, he tried to stand up straight, but the pain caused his body to arc forward slightly. This isn't good. What else can I do?

"Hado 4. White lightning!" A white light shot from his hand, but it wasn't aimed for the robot, but aimed for the ground in front of it. Hoping to create some sort of smokescreen, blocking the field of vision of the robot. Using shunpo, to try and get behind the machine, he would once again try and slash at the robot's joints, behind the knees.

Great thing about robots they don't boast or brag. After successfully landing a blow it didn't fire off a one liner, it only calculated a follow up strike. It's foot came back to the ground as Bishamon's kido fired. The blast of white energy struck the ground in front of the robot and caused a small explosion. The ground was simple stone, it had no chance against the spell's electric burst. Shards of rock went flying in every direction and a small bit of smoke from the scorched earth. This small explosion was enough to divert the robot's attention for a moment. A moment was all Bishamon needed shunpo to the machine's back. There was a loud *CLANK* as the metal of his blades found the small groove of the back of the metal joints behind the knee. But it would seem that the attack while successful had a horrible consequence: it brought him well within the robot's range. The same detection system it had used before to sense an attacker from behind alerted it of the man's new location. It was too late to prevent the attack on it's knees, but not too late to launch it's own. As before the arms moved 180 degrees and wrapped around the opponent's body. The fingers of the hands intertwined just as swiftly; completely locking Bishamon in arm's vice like grip. Together the limbs pulled shinigami close pressing him against the hard metallic body. The head quickly spun around til it's single glowing eye faced the man.
"TARGET ACQUIRED." was all Rover said and then began to squeeze.

The loud clank was all he needs to confirm his attack was successful, but the mechanical humanoid didn't falter like Bishamon had hoped. In fact it was straight on the counter attack, probably one of the advantages of not feeling pain. Bishamon tried to free his blades, but didn't get a chance to do so before the robot grabbed him; Bishamon's arms were completely locked by the robot grip. And now it was pulling him closer, despite Bishamon resisting he couldn't really do anything about it, he looked up as robots head turned; Bishamon stared into to the cold, lifeless eye of the robot. A chilling site, but it was short lived as the pain of the robots strong squeeze took effect. Bishamon could feel his breath and strength leaving his body, he tired to free himself but couldn't, the grip was just too strong. He could feel his bones being forced to breaking point "H..." He couldn't get his words out. The pressure just got worse, as did the pain.

"Hey..." His voice was the same as a whisper as that was all the strength he could muster "Hey, can we stop?" He asked, ashamed by the pathetic sound of his weakened voice, but it seemed this battle was an impossible win.

The smile on the shinigami's face faded as the man declared his defeat. He was rather enjoying the show. Seeing someone overcome a challenge was always a thrill. But this wasn't about entertainment it was about progress. The Bishamon was surrendering so there was no need to allow things to progress any further. If he let the machine kill him, he wouldn't get anyone to help with his future experiments. It was hard enough with the 12th division stereotype hanging over him. With a mental sigh Arawn sprang into action.
"ROVER, heel!" he shouted his voice booming in the enclosed space. The effect of the yell was immediate; the robot's grip instantly slackened. The next moment it's arms hung limp at it's side and then the red eye faded to blackness. The newly released Bishamon was dropped to the ground after it's monstrous bear hug. The dull hum of the energy core in it's chest quieted and then went completely silent. Bryce and Simone joined Arawn as he walked across the room to check on the two test subjects as well as the robot itself. Bryce checked Rover while Arawn offered Bishamon a hand up. Simone continued to the far side to the crumpled body of the young girl.
"She's fine." she said after a moment of checking for pulse and examining her body. "Just stunned. Might want to dial back the power on those electric prods."
"I already reduced power on them." Bryce whined "It's at optimal output."
"With that much power she'll be out for hours." Came the retort. "We know it works, no point in knocking them out that long."

Once the robot released Bishamon from its clutches, he fell to the ground, gasping and wheezing for air. He took a few moments to recover all he could, he managed to gather his breath, but the pain was still there mind you. He caught a glimpse of Arawn's extended hand, and extended his own to meet it. Once he got to his feet he slowly bent down to pick up his two blades, he felt his back tighten; it was clear that some damage had been done, but not too serious but things might have ended differently if the robot continued its monstrous squeeze for much longer. Bishamon sheathed his blades and peered over to the unconscious girl, who he was partnered with. She looked pretty out of it, which wasn't too much of a surprise considering what sort of force she was hit with. But by the woman's diagnoses she was fine, or would be fine after a bit of rest. "Well, that's quite the machine you've got there, sorry I wasn't much of an opponent for it." He laughed, and then looked over to the robot that caused him so much trouble. It didn't seem half as threatening when out of commission like that.

"No worries, you did better than expected." came the reply from the red haired scientist. "The battle data will be added and hopefully we can improve upon the model."
"There's not way to improve the armoring a the joints." Bryce said listening in on the conversation. "Nice job attacking there. "Minimal damage thankfully. It would take forever to repair the servos and wiring." Arawn laughed, it was almost if he was more concerned about the robot than the humans. But it was to be expected from such a computer expert to care about cold metal over warm flesh.
"If it makes you feel any better I've barely been able to best this droid in combat. It was a win by a very narrow margin." Arawn shuddered remembering the encounters with the battle machine. At this point he had doubts weather he could pull off the same feat again now that the machine had be updated so much. Chances were that he'd be on the floor like the shinigmai. "Ironically enough it's based on those wins that ROVER has seen the most improvement. All the battles it fights helps it grow just like you do. But unlike you we can modify it's evolution and restrict it's ability." He gave the slightly wounded man a wide smile. "I hope this has been a growing experience for you to say the least." He patted Bishamon on the back in a hearty manner. "A good job none the less. If you wish I can take you to the 4th division for some treatment. Otherwise I'd think you'll enjoy staying to watch how the rest fair against this guy." he said gesturing to droid Bryce worked on.
"He'll be up an running in another few minutes." the three armed hunchback shouted, "I'm lowering the energy output slightly. " Simone smiled at his remark as she half lifted half dragged the small girl to the waiting room.

Bishamon gave the red headed shinigami a half-hearted smile; he probably should have seen whether or not his injuries were serious at the squad 4 barracks. But the temptation of seeing how others would fare against that mechanical humanoid was too great "Yeah, I'll stay and watch for a while" He slowly got out of the way; trying to get a safe distance before the battle started; the manner in which he walked, looked quite awkward, as he held his body stiff and rigid, as he didn't want to jerk his body around. He wondered how well the others would get on against it. Bishamon didn't think of himself as very strong, so he assumed stronger shinigami's were in the crowd. But he also assumed weaker ones were among them, so it would be interesting to see how long those shinigami's would last; probably not the nicest thought, but the robot seemed like it responded well to Arawn, so there wasn't much threat of anyone getting a serious injury.

The remainder of the battles weren't without incident. Some took notes from the first battle and tried to attack the joints. They weren't any more successful. For many of the groups teamwork wasn't exactly an easy thing. Most of the group were close range fighters. Two people rushing as one often got confusing. Although they managed to hold the robot at bay, they weren't able to formulate a decent offensive. One team had a member sacrifice his teammate just to bind the robot with a bakudo. It worked only for a second and then the robot proceeded to assault the treacherous man. Arawn allowed that thrashing to go longer than needed to teach the ruffian a lesson. No one attempted to emulate such a tactic again afterwards. Still most came away from the experience rather happy even though they lost. Some started to take bets on how long others would last, and brag about how many blows they had taken without falling. It was almost like a competition for them. The excitement of facing a difficult foe brought them together as a group. A common enemy in a sense. Arawn chuckled at the change of atmosphere. A bunch of strangers had become almost friends in a matter of moments. The day ended and Arawn gave the group his remarks and paperwork. He wished to have their input in writing if possible. He had already set up cameras in the testing area for reviewing later. The daylight had faded, the night was slowly coming.
"I thank you all for you time. Hopefully you'll make yourself available again for further testing." he began
"Well the money's good." someone murmured in the group. Other chimed in their approval. Arawn smiled, even if they didn't like challenge the lure of money was enough to keep their interest.
"Well, keep up the good work and the money continue to be good." he grinned. "That aside, please take time to fill out the forms and turn them in to the 12 division office. They'll reach me in my office." Simone walked among the group handing out papers. "Make sure you give your correct contact information. If you fill it out wrong I won't be able to contact you for future testing." With all the paper passed out Arawn gave the group a bow. "I wish you all a pleasant evening."
