A normal day in the Runkongai? [Denno]

Only a few blocks within the Rukongai, there are people on the street arguing, some kids are playing, and there's even some people sitting in the gutter, drunk before noon. It's a peaceful day so far, there's no trouble to be seen or heard. It's simply put a normal day. There's women dusting off carpets in the front doors of their houses, and everyone just seems happy.
(sorry, I can't really describe it well)

Daisuke walks down the street, wearing his academy uniform and a goofy smile, as he sees an old lady trying to lift a few bags of shopping goods. Immediately as he sees it, he runs to her and asks if he can help out. She thanks him as he picks up the bags. There's quite a lot of them, and he has t carry some in his arms in front of him so he can't see where he is going. The lady is guiding him through the street as he accidentally drops two of the bags. He panics and puts the other bags down, then bows for the lady and apologizes. He picks all the bags up again in the same way as he did before, but a container with some kind of fluid had obviously been punctured. It was running down his chest and seeping all the way down into his hakama. It felts rather unpleasant, but he had to carry the bags no matter what. As he started walking with the lady again, he doesn't notice as she turns down a street, so he continues. Eventually he bumps into a rather big, threatening guy who instantly gets milk spilled all over him. Daisuke drops the bags and quickly apologizes, but this guy gets all red-faced and looks extremely mad. His friends surrounds Daisuke so he won't be able to get away, and the big guy looks at him with a raised eyebrow, as if he is expecting a fight.

Another boring patrol that was most likely going to end up with some kind of unpleasant meeting, he was not sure as to why, but it was just a feeling that went through his body.
He was reading a new book, it was nothing really fancy, it was mostly concentrated around duties of the soul reapers, and the law of seretei, mostly just stuff he was sure everyone would break at least once in their life, or afterlife as you could call it in some way.

Something got his attention away from his book, it seemed like someone was in trouble, and an academy student to boast, he should probably go help him out, as those men did not look like they were about to offer him a drink, unless it was to be his last drink.
Lavi lets out a sigh, it seems the feeling in his gut was right once more, and he kind of hated himself for it, but then again it was a good thing that he would be able to help someone out.
Lavi walked up to the group with a smile on his face and his one eye fixed at the biggest of them all, and walked up behind him, and poked him on the shoulder "excuse me, but what seems to be the problem here?" the smile just kept being there, as if there was no trouble in the world to him, even tough he was expecting them to attack him out of nothing any moment.

The men had started pushing Daisuke around between them, and he didn’t really try to resists. At one point one of the men grabbed him and the big guy was just about to walk closer as he felt the poke on his shoulder. Annoyed by the poke and the provocation in the way this person talked, he raised his hand and turned around to punch him in the face while screaming, ‘None of your business!!’ He only just managed to stop his hand as he notice the shinigami hakama. His hand slowly begins to shake in fear as he slowly retracts it and takes a step back. “I-I’m very sorry! I d-didn’t mean t-to hit you shinigami-sama!” He shows of his true nature of the coward who only dares picking on those weaker than himself. The other three of the gang slowly begins to back off and away from Daisuke and the shinigami.

Daisuke, still confused about the situation, doesn’t move at all. He doesn’t understand why the men were being so mean, even after he apologized to them. As he notice them backing away he looks at the shinigami. A glint of awe appears in his eyes. A REAL shinigami. Sure he had seen some in classes at the academy when they came to help with the studying. This shinigami looked strong. He was probably a fifth seat in one of the squads! Or at least a tenth!! And he came here to help him, even though he is just an academy student. Shinigami sure are amazing! And it would be so awesome if he got to see him release his shikai, maybe even his Bankai, if he has that yet. The looks of admiration and awe spreads itself across his face as his eyes gets all big, while he looks at the AMAZING shinigami.

Lavi takes the hit and seems to be completely unaffected by it, though he is a little surprised when the men run away, he had expected he would have to push them around just a little before they were going to leave, or threaten them a little, but it did not matter that much really, the important was that the student was free from those men.
Lavi looked as the men ran away before he turned his attention the the student "are you alright?" the student looked alright, but those big eyes was hard to read, and frankly looked a little creepy, Lavi stepped up and placed a hand on the students shoulder "they did not hurt you too much did they?

it seemed like this student was still pretty new to the whole thing and did not know when he should strike back, and just how to deal with these kind of bullies that roamed the rukongai, Lavi might just need to hit some sense into his head at some point, but for the time being, he would just make sure he was alright.
Could be there would be time to meet this student at the academy at one point, he might be a bit insecure about fighting, and if he was good at fighting he could get him into the 11th squad, but that was not something to think about right now.

Daisuke looks up at the shinigami and shakes his head. He hadn't been hurt, not even the slightest. His uniform was a bot more wrinkled but thats all. He looked around only to notice that the bags had gone missing. The men had probably taken it when they ran. He sighs slightly and then looks at the shinigami.
"Thank you for helping me sir."
He made a small bow from where he stands, just to be polite. Thats how he had been raised. Be polite to others and never cause trouble for those around you. If he could do that, then one day he would become well respected. And he believed it, as it was the words from his 'Baa-chan'.
"May I ask, What squad are you in?"
He was hoping he would say '4th', but judging from the way he reacted to the punch he was probably from the 11th squad. And from what Daisuke had heard they were all a bunch of no-brain-fighters. But he had also learned never to judge a book by it's cover. So even if he was in 11th squad he might not be stupid. He could actually be smart. But he might not be in 11th squad either. He could be from anywhere between 5th to 13th.

Lavi retrieved a book from his sleeve, while he listened to Daisuke, he seemed to pretty polite, of course that was not unlike people, it was not all people that was complete assholes "you are welcome, but try to stay out of trouble, I am sure it was not your fault, but some people on these parts love to bully the weak" Lavi still held the book in his hand and had not opened it yet "You should learn to hit back when dealing with these people, as soon as there is a chance to get hurt they run away pretty quickly" He examined the kid a little quick, he sure was not looking like the most experience fighter of them all, or the strongest, possible a little bit more kidou orientated "unseated of 11th squad Lavi Kusajishi" Lavi did not talk with much spirit in his voice "so what is your name kid?"

Daisuke looked at Lavi and nodded. He could actually take care of himself, he just refused to hurt others unless it would be necessary. Furthermore, if he really had to do something, he would simply have used Kido on them. As Lavi introduced himself, Daisuke was quite shocked. He had forgotten to introduce himself! How rude of him. And now this 11th squad soldier had to introduce himself first. Wait.. 11th squad, yet, he is holding a book. Something seems off.
“I’m Daisuke. Daisuke Ichihara.”
He made a small bow again, and as he straightened up he looked at the book. Maybe 11th squad isn’t what he had heard it was. Maybe they were actually all intellectual. Or perhaps it’s just this one guy who is that way. He had to ask, it might be rude, but it had to be done, for the sake of his curiosity.
“Excuse me, but, you said you were 11th squad, yet you are currently in possession of a book. I was under the impression that all of the 11th squad was blockheads who weren’t good at anything but fighting, no offense, but is it true?”

Lavi looked at the kid with a bit dull eyes for quite a long time before he broke out in laughter, he could not help but think it was funny, it was true that the 11th squad was not known for being intellectual, and that was partly also why he was considering switching squad, he stopped himself in laughing, he had probably made the kid a little unsettled by now "well yea it is true to some extent, but not all in the squad are blockheads, there are some that use their head every now and then" Lavi had a smile on his face, the kid probably meant no harm by it all, but if he had said that while anyone else from the 11th squad was close, he had probably gotten his ass kicked.
"but yea I am not quite like all others, I enjoy a good book after all" Lavi was almost done with his patrol, so maybe he could get a little more talk out of this academy student, it could not hurt.
"say I am off duty soon, would you like to have a drink with me, or maybe you are one of those that do not drink?"

Daisuke kind of understood the shinigami. But still. 11th squad and still into books. Rumors really can't be trusted. He would love to talk with Lavi, but he was afraid that the woman he was helping out might come back and discover that her wares are gone now, and then maybe even blame him for it. As Lavi then asked him out for a drink he saw the opportunity and took it.
"I'd love to. I have a lot of questions. But.. I don't drink. At least not alcohol."
He looked up at the man with a pleasant smile, trying to forget about the woman. Chances of meeting her again were quite small, and he had already, by meeting the shinigami, forgotten about going home to Baa-chan and tell about his day. His siblings might miss him, but he'll be back later, so that's not a problem. He took a quick look around. There was no one but Lavi and him.
"Were do we go then?"
He asked enthusiasm in his voice. He had questions for this shinigami. Lots of them. At the Academy the teachers avoided telling him about hollows, so he only knows what Baa-chan has told him so far. But he has a feeling that that might be the censored version.

He should have guessed the kid did not drink, he looked a bit too innocent after all, but there was no harm to it.
Lavi turned his back to Daisuke, and began walking, he knew a place around there "Well there is this place I know, it is not too far away, it is not the best around, but I am not about to complain" Questions, well if they were anything like the ones he had already asked, then there would be no trouble answering at all.
They arrived in front of a small snack house 'Tisha snack house' He looked back to Daisuke shortly "well lets get in" Lavi slided the door to the side and then went inside "hey Tisha-san, a sake for me and some water for the boy" Lavi went over to a table and then just sat down, there was no people there except for them and Tisha "So what was it you wanted to ask?"

Daisuke looked around. The lady was nowhere to be seen, and beyond Daisuke’s knowledge, she was infact in league with the other guys, they were there to trap him and steal his money, but it obviously didn’t work. But as Daisuke can’t see the lady he decides he’ll just go with Lavi. He looks around as they walk through a part of the rukongai that he has never been to. ‘Tisha snack house’. It looks decent, and the name is actually pretty catchy. He sat down at the same table as Lavi. Ashe orders Daisuke is just about to add water to the order, but is too late as Lavi orders it for him. He smiles, and when Lavi engages him in conversation, he sits up straight and gets a half serious looking mask on.
“I wanted to know.. How does it feel to kill a hollow?”
He was never a fan of, well not even the word, killing. But he had always been sure that if it was a hollow it would be alright. Especially if it was a really evil hollow. But what if that was not the case? He had to know.

Lavi looked a bit surprised at the boy, he had never gotten such a question before, and neither had he really thought much about it before "how does it feel like to kill a hollow?" He leaned back and looked a bit into the ceiling, how did it feel like killing a hollow, it was not something he ever really thought much about, it was not so different from what he had earlier experienced, but he had also been fighting for his life in the rukongai before even encountering his first hollow, so it had really been like any other kill he had made before that, but he then thought back on when he had woken up, he remembered nothing of his earlier life, but he had been forced to defend himself and killed as the first thing he could remember, he looked back to the boy "I how I felt like the first time I killed was... pain" He closed his eyes "Pain that I had taken a life, but as I began to think more about it, the pain went away" Lavi opened his eyes again, Tisha came by and placed their orders in front of them, Lavi looked them "thanks Tisha" he nod to her as she went back behind the bar, she was a pretty young woman, possible in her late twenties, with long dark hair.

His eyes began remarking that he was pretty serious in what he said "cause when you think more about it" He taped his finger on his forhead "you are really doing the right thing, you might be taking a life in some way, but you are granting it new life, and stopping it from taking the life of others" It was the way Lavi had begun thinking when killing really, he always had the cycle of the souls stuck in his head, it made his mind at ease when taking a life.
