Kaiyo waited with bated breath for Ri to begin; these tests always seemed to build a lot more tension than they should. Though the genuine excitement over what his Bankai might be was sincere enough, the girl's own interest in combat lead her often to an intrigue in the ability of others. A comparison wasn't needed, she'd just fight him later, and Kaiyo wasn't particularly one for viewing things in such a black and white manner at any rate.
The initial release sent a wave of reiatsu flooding past the captains; an impressive sight for any. Kaiyo glanced casually over to the holes littering the barracks; glad they were at her squad grounds anymore. Still grinning like a maniac the girl nodded at Ri's suggestion, flash stepped backwards to a safer distance. Her eyes still firmly glued on the staff. If she'd had been asked to guess originally, what form his Bankai would be, Kaiyo reckoned she would have said a staff. Hindsight was a wonderful thing though.
Her neck cracked quietly as Kaiyo followed the attack up to the sky. A spark of energy rushing along her arm at the thundering clap that followed, lightning in general seemed to have that kind of effect. The roaring wind swept down around the Captains, Kaiyo's own haori fluttering ans flicking wildly around her as she stood motionless. Her gaze slowly dropping back down to Ri, who seemed a little tired.
Kaiyo slowly moved her hands together as she began clapping. Smiling happily in her applause. 'Nice one' she muttered under her breath, her mind still replaying the display back to her.
