This was it. Takuya lay unconscious several meters away, the hollow ready to crush his bones and Kurama was unable to do anything about it. So this was how they were going to die, in the middle of an empty field in god knows what country they were in. His arms were rendered useless by the creature's paralyzing tendrils, which still pinned him down just in case he happened to regain his strength. His stomach had been stabbed with one such tendril and blood continued to pour from the open wound. Kurama's vision grew weaker as he lost precious pints of blood until he could no longer see the menacing figure looming over his new friend.
"Are you?"
"...what? Who's there?"
“Death is nothing to us, since when we are, death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. So, are you?"
"Who the hell is talking to me! Show yourself!"
Kurama could hear a sigh. "It appears you are not yet ready to learn of me, or the wisdom I have to give. It is a shame for I have been waiting a long time to speak with you Kurama."
A sudden realization came to him as the voice spoke. "Are you- I mean, you are my zanpakuto?"
"Indeed I am. Though I would rather be called by my name."
"So, what is your name?"
"You may call me Kurounin Aisu for Japanese is the easiest language to pronounce my name in."
"I wish I'd met you before now. I think I'm dying in the middle of a field. I could have become a decent shinigami."
"In the darkest hour the soul is replenished and given strength to continue and endure."
"What are you saying?"
"Call my name. Release me and allow my power to aid your own. It should be enough to destroy the hollow."
"Alright then. Come on out, KUROUNIN AISU!"
All of a sudden light rushed back into Kurama's vision and he could see the hollow beginning to pin Takuya's limbs to the ground. It started to lick its mouth and was about to take a bite out of his limp body when Kurama's strength returned to him and allowed for him to lift his pinned arm up out of the ground. He grabbed his zanpakuto which changed form into a nodachi in his hand. Kurama slashed at the tendrils that pinned the rest of his body to the ground and severed them clean. Once he'd done that, the hollow withdrew its tendril from Kurama's right arm and howled in pain. Blood continued to gush from his open wound but the young shinigami didn't seem to be noticing the pain.
"What it this?! You should be paralyzed! I was told that you two were weaklings!"
"You cannot run away from a weakness; you must some time fight it out or perish; and if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?"The hollow simply howled at him and began to attack with its remaining nine tendrils. Kurama smiled and raised his zanpakuto.
"When ice is real hard, it shatters and you can get microscopic shards of ice. I have just learned the name of this technique, you will be its first victim. Aisu Shaddo!"At this, the sword shattered into three dozen long, thin shards of ice that rose into the air swarming around him. They spun and twirled around like tiny little blades, ready to pierce the flesh of anyone who got in their way. Kurama gathered up all the strength he could muster and slowly raised his arm in the air. He lashed out with his arm as if swatting an invisible fly that buzzed in front of him. The shards responded to this motion by flying towards the beast at moderately high speeds. The hollow attempted to deflect the shards of ice with its tendrils, destroying nine of them. The nine shards turned to little puffs of snow as if they were no more than snowballs being tossed at the creature. The others however continued to fly towards it, most stabbing the creature in the torso though almost a dozen missed entirely.
The hollow howled in pain once more before it started spitting poisonous spikes from its body like an over sized porcupine. Kurama motioned to guard himself with his arms but found the shards returning to form a shield in front of him instead. It appeared that this technique was not only offensive but defensive. A few of the shards shattered as spike struck the wall and before he knew it the wall had turned to powder. The hollow only grew more and more angry as the shinigami continued to thwart his attacks. It charged forward, tendrils all whipping around with the speed of a skilled shunpo user. Kurama motioned for the shards to strike it again, the destroyed ones reforming from his spiritual energy. The hollow was frenzied, it wasn't attempting to block the attacks. As a result, two dozen shards stabbed deep into the creature's body and sent it collapsing on the ground. The shards returned into the form of a nodachi in his hand, allowing him to slash the creature's mask in half...

Call out phrase: Bow before the Frozen Sage!, Kurounin Aisu!
Description of released form: Kurounin Aisu transforms from its standard katana form to a nodachi or, what some refer to it as, a large nihontō. The blade shimmers a light blue and is cold to the touch. One would normally find holding such a freezing cold blade to be painful after about a minute or so but the icy tinge is not felt by the owner. The symbols "すべては氷である" are engraved on either side of the blade.
Abilities:Ability 1: Aisu Shaddo (Rank 3 Required)
Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Ice Barrage" technique. The blade essentially shatters into three dozen long, thin shards of ice that can be controlled by his owner. There are basically two ways to use this technique, the first being obvious. A barrage of ice shards strike at the foe, easily destroyable though can be reformed for another attack depending on the amount of spiritual energy the wielder has remaining. The second is a simple wall of ice, able to block low-leveled kidos and small energy attacks. It increases in power as the user grows in skill with the technique.
