| SuperhumanName: Shinri, shortened to Shin by most. Age: Appears and is 17 years of age Race: Mixed ethnicity- Native American and Caucasian, skin tone of the latter, though darker than most. Birthplace: Texas, city unknown, currently lives midway between Sanagu and Karakura. Looks: Shinri stands at a total height of 5 feet, 8 inches. For the most part, he’s quite average. He has a strong jaw, for a teenager, and sharp, angular features that give his face a very forward, sharp appearance. He has a wolfish smile, with a bit of twist towards one side, making him truly an impish one. His eyes are his only defining feature. The shining silver irises stand out against his year-round-tan skin and jet black, messy hair, forward-flowing and reaching his jaw to frame his face, and just past his eyes in the front. He’s skinny, with no real muscle definition, though this is an unintentional coverup. Shinri generally dresses comfortably, even in his school uniform, which he wears most often. A pair of khaki cargo shorts and a plain black tee usually make up his ensemble when not in school. The uniform consists of a black coat, which he never bothers to wear, a white, button-down shirt, which he leaves either half or untucked, and a black tie, which hangs loosely tied around his neck. He maintains a habit of wearing a pair of black-on-white running shoes, even in his uniform, for quick getaways and comfort. - Spoiler:
Personality: Mischief is the game of choice when it comes to Shinri. he has a loving heart, and a good-natured attitude. He’s a joker, and a prankster, but he also knows when to take things seriously. He enjoys meeting new people, and getting better at any and everything he can. Despite his go-getter attitude towards life, however, Shinri is a slacker to the core. He’ll just as easily bum a meal off someone, or sleep instead of doing homework as he would push himself to his limits when he DOES decide to do something. In his free time, Shin enjoys many extreme sport-type hobbies, such as freerunning and parkour. He indulges in BMX as well, as his trusty bike is his main mode of transportation. He’s an explorer, and knows the streets of both Sanagu and Karakura like the back of his hand because of it. He can differentiate between Spirits and People, but most often treats any of them with the same manner. He’s a loyal friend and a fierce competitor, with heart that never gives in. When it comes to a fight, he’ll aim to win at any cost. His ideas often get him into trouble, however, whether it be with local authorities, grumpy adults, or one of the many girls he tries to flirt with. Overall, Shinri is a well rounded, relaxed individual, with the heart of a warrior. Gender: Male Occupation: Student at Sanagu High, resident troublemaker. Special Characteristics: Other than his eyes, Shinri’s only special characteristic is his amazing versatility and ability to adapt to any situation, due to living on his own. He does, however, carry around a total of 5 small spheres of different material, to use in conjunction with his Fullbring; One iron sphere, one wooden sphere, a glass sphere, a marble sphere, and a diamond sphere. These are all carried in a small marble bag attached to his waist. Special PowerGeneral Power: Biokinesis Techniques/Abilities:- Spoiler:
Density- By increasing or decreasing the density of his molecular structure, Shinri can become as heavy as a rock, or as light as a feather. However, this ability comes at the risk of bodily harm, as the normal plasticity and elasticity of skin becomes irrelevant and unyielding, causing skin to tear easier. By decreasing the density, the opposite occurs, making the skin too elastic, and once again, easy to tear. Shinri manages this by focusing this ability into mainly defensive maneuvers, and just before he strikes an opponent. This ability provides +5 to Fighting ability, -5 to Speed, and is stacks. Density can only be increased once per post, with one post cooldown, until the maximum stack is reached.
Splice- By altering his molecular DNA, Shinri can stay in a human form, and develop characteristics, or parts of animals he can shift into. However, this is a largely draining ability, as it requires more complex control. It can also be very dangerous if something were to go wrong, so Shin only uses this when necessary. The easiest and safest use of this ability is enhancing his five senses, as this only builds on what he already has.
Symbiosis- Shinri’s riskiest ability to use, as well as the one that takes the most energy, allows him to combine his DNA and molecular structure with that of material outside of his body. This is an extremely limited ability, with his current level of control. The more complex the molecular structure, the harder it is to bind with himself, and the higher the risk of causing himself permanent injury. Currently, Shinri can only perform Symbiosis on non-living material (dead/crafted wood is non-living). This ability is the reason he carries around the wood, iron, glass, marble, and diamond spheres. With the first three, he can bind his entire body, though he rarely does so with glass. Marble and diamond, due to their dense molecular structure, are harder to bind to, making his the top of his forearms (elbow) his limit for these two. Other material, such as dirt and sand, or concrete are also capable of being used, though when in nature, a lot harder to control, which is the reason Shinri most often uses the spheres. In theory, he can bind to other materials, such as water, or fire, but this is FAR advanced from his current level. (i.e. this is a prelude to a later ability, of much higher rank.)

Shinri came into the world bearing a heavy weight. His mother died during childbirth, and his father, the only child of some rich family that invented some new automobile, wasn’t really around all that much. So, as a baby, he was basically barely raised. Born in Texas, he grew up in the country, mostly alone. A large house, covered by large amounts of wooded area, was to be his playground. He was taken care of by a single nanny, who never really talked, just fed him. When he was old enough to stand on his own, he never really learned to walk- running suited him more. Always on the move, Shinri got his legs under him, in more ways than one. Fast as he could, he began to speak, and from there, to comprehend. By the age of three, he had taught himself to read fluently, though not all of it was understood, as of yet. It was at this age, and this development, that started his schooling. He was tutored at home, for five hours a day. At the age of thirteen, he was on a high-school level of education. It was also at the age of thirteen that his father decided they were moving. So they packed up and headed off, and ended up between the two bustling cities of Karakura and Sanagu. For the first year, Shinri spent all his time outdoors, roaming the streets on his bike, or by foot. He developed a deep connection with the complex layouts of both cities, and thrived in them. He began to meet new people, kids that went to school, and hung out, and played, and began to befriend them. He still was schooled at home, but often times skipped lessons to go and play with his other friends, or would go to the schools and look in the windows, wondering what a public school was like. Around the age of fourteen, about a year after Shinri had moved to the area, the strong levels of Spiritual Energy brought out a hidden power within him. He had always known he was different, what with seeing people that no one else saw, or just walked through, and that no one seemed to notice the chains attached to them. However, he hadn’t known just how different he was. One morning, while eating breakfast with his father, an extremely rare occasion, Shinri stood up, placing his hands on the table. On his mind was just how much of everything seemed to make up a person, the scope and size of no importance to the impact it could make. His palm grew cold, as he realized he had placed it on the silverware, and he made to stand. The yelp that issued from him made his father look up sharply, and his eyes grew as wide as Shinri’s own. His entire hand was silver, just like that of the spoon he had just touched. Experimenting, in shock and awe, he tapped it with his other hand, and found that it was, in fact, the exact same kind of metal as the spoon. The next few hours were a blur. Shinri’s father sent him to his room, and told him not to come out until dinner. Shinri, who wasn’t used to his father being a father, simply obeyed. Several hours later, while laying down, staring at the ceiling and his now-back-to-normal hand, the door downstairs opened and closed. Shinri checked the clock and noted the time was right at six o'clock. He got up, and made to go downstairs, when he noticed the small pouch outside his door, with the piece of paper attached to it. He opened the paper, and read. Shinri, I’ve left. I knew this day would come, and I just didn’t know how I’d deal with it. I don’t know when or if I’ll be back. Know that I love you, still, and that you take after your mother. I’ve left you a gift- They were hers. For an hour, he only sat there, unmoving, eyes going over the few short lines over and over again. He didn’t cry, and he wasn't angry, he was only trying to grasp the reality of it, how sudden it had all been, and mostly: Why? He finally broke from his deep thoughts and turned his attention to the small, leather marble pouch. He uncinched the bag and dumped the contents onto the bed. Inside were five small spheres, one iron, one wooden, one glass, one marble, and one diamond. At this, he welled up, letting a few tears escape. The gesture was the most caring and attentive his father had ever shown. He gathered up each of the spheres, and placed them back in the bag. Then, he lay down, and slept. Many things changed over the next few years. Shinri developed his abilities, and even discovered they far exceeded anything he had ever expected to be in the realm of reality. The day after his father left, he enrolled himself in school. He made even more friends, and his personality, the bubbly, intelligent, mischievous individual he is now, began to take shape. He lived alone, save for the housing staff, which was still receiving payment, which meant his father was safe, somewhere. During this brief lapse in time, he also had his first run-ins with Shinigami and Hollow. They were more of witnessed events than actually involving him, but of their existence, he was privy to this knowledge, and trained himself all the more for it, for the day he may have to confront one or the other, or vice versa. We find Shinri at 17 years old now, in his last year of high school, and on his way to a new chapter in his life- one that starts...Now. Role Playing Sample: - Spoiler:
A group of snakes in the grass. That’s what Shinri likened himself and his little group to as they tore across the city. Virtually silent, save the rustling of clothing and the panting breath that permeated the still night. He cracked a smile, taking in every little thing he could about the way they were moving. A full tilt sprint by Dominic flowed effortlessly into a fully loaded jump, seamless as he took an elongated step, and his body coiled, taut as a spring, and then pressed back up, his momentum carrying him up to the wall. Nighcelia tailed close by, her long legs cutting through the air as easily as a knife through butter. She came to a shorter section of the wall, still necessary for her to jump at. Her movements were efficient, a machine with but one speed as she took the wall in stride, jumping only from the ankle. Her shoulders compressed and locked as her hands came down. Her knees drew up to her chest and then kicked out and back, never changing her momentum as it carried her into a front vault and launched her forward and onto solid ground once more.
The brother and sister, fraternal twins, were his best friends, and he loved running with them. Their blonde hair caught the light, Dominic’s spiked and angled forward, Nighcelia’s long and roaming free. They were both from America originally as well, so they all had some common ground. He chortled to himself as he let his thoughts bounce, until he came up on the wall. At this point, Dom and Nighcelia were already ahead of him, so there was no problem of them seeing.
Quickly, he used his ability, Splice, as he called it, to enhance the muscles in his legs and his equilibrium. To the former, he thought horse, and felt the sharp ache he had grown accustomed to as his muscles stretched and grew. His head swam as the latter, of which he thought cat, swelled. He veered slightly to the left, so he was about side by side to the wall that Dom had climbed, and compressed his body with one step longer from his right leg that cut slightly across his body, to the left. He felt the muscles coil, and he forced up with as much strength as possible, launching himself into the air. He corkscrewed and arched his back, making an elegant display as he flipped over the wall. He let his legs relax, and they spread out to the sides in a split position, so that he became an inverted helicopter for a moment. He rolled forward, onto his hands, and sprang with ease as he let his enhancements ebb away, releasing his Fullbring.
Landing effortlessly in a simple roll, he was back on his feet as if he’d never stopped moving. Soon, he caught up to Dominic and Nighcelia as they were rounding the corner to Dead Cat Alley, their own nickname for the number of felines that made it their personal haunt. The walls were close together, and ridged regularly all the way up with ledges that protruded about four inches from each building. They ran until all three of them were in the alley, and then Dominic, who was heading today, began a Mario-style wall-jump, side to side up the buildings. Nighcelia followed suit, and Shinri brought up the rear. They vaulted the top of the building on the left, a rundown structure that used to be an office, and came to rest on the roof.
“Alright, here it is!” Dom spoke excitedly.
He had found the building a few nights ago, when he’d gone freerunning on his own, and had been itching to show the both of them his secret. He walked towards a small shed-like structure with a chain wrapped through the handles. It appeared to be locked, and so it was when they drew close. Here, Nighcelia giggled when she saw her brother’s downcast face, obviously knowing he’d forgotten to bring his lockpicks- tools the three of them had made especially for purposes like this.
“Oh Dom, what would you have done without us?” she joked as she picked the lock with ease, having virtually no trouble.
Dom smirked, and gave her a playful shove as he pulled the chain out and opened the door. The inside was pitch-black, save for a single patch of light no bigger than a pinprick it seemed like. Nighcelia looked down and blanched, and Shinri observed over the ledge of the empty elevator shaft.
“So... How are we getting down there? I don’t suppose you can fly?” he asked, grinning, but half serious. He’d thought several times about telling the both of them of his ability, and going over different scenarios, one of them including that they both had some power as well.
He dismissed the thought as he turned and saw Nighcelia backing away, and the world went into slow motion. Dom’s hands touched his chest as he turned towards his friend, and the evil smile on his lips struck him more than the force of the shove. Shinri’s mind stopped working as he fell backwards into the empty space of the shaft. Nighcelia’s silent scream rang in his subconscious mind. It felt like forever that he fell, and he braced himself for impact, knowing the bottom had to be somewhere close by now, and then he felt the solid beneath him, and knew the force was going to crush him as it seemed to yield to his weight... and then stretched and launched him back into the air.
Shinri gathered his wits, still screaming, though he hadn’t realized he had ever been, and he ceased that as soon as possible. He was utterly confused as he began to descend again and hit with less force this time, barely bouncing. When he came to a stop, he placed his hands down and felt the familiar texture of a trampoline. Heart still pounding, he stood once more, and moved out of the way, into the doorway that had been pried open. Inside, a plugin flood light illuminated a large space. He heard Dom’s laughter, now obviously fake to his ears, which sounded like a phony, ghoulish Dracula attempt, followed shortly by Nighcelia’s screams of terror, which ended after about five seconds. She silently stomped through the now-open doorway, and sat down forcefully on a beanbag by the wall. Dom joined them a short moment later, his laughter now genuine.
Shinri, unable to help himself joined in after a few seconds of wavering resolve.
“You should’ve heard yourselves! And your faces? Oh my God, priceless!” Dom managed between peals of laughter.
“It wasn’t very funny.” Nighcelia said venomously, but the hint of a smile hid at the corners of her lips.
“Seriously though, how’d you manage that one?” Shinri asked when they had laughed themselves out.
“Well, I was out all night, getting supplies. I had to climb down here the first time, and it took way too long, so I figured I’d set up an easier way to get down here. It’s the same way you’d set up a trampoline, springs and all. The rest,” here he paused, and swept an arm around the room, to which Shinri now took notice of all the tech and furniture that had been placed inside, including the beanbag chairs, a pool table, a working television, several refurbished and fixed up game systems, and a refrigerator that looked like it had been taken apart and put back together, “I did in several trips. It wasn’t an issue to tap into the electricity, it’s on the city’s old grid, primitive stuff.” he boasted, taking pride in his hacking skills, the same ones that had probably allowed him to fix the game systems and flat screen on the wall.
Shinri had to admit, he was impressed, and the getup well explained the reason Dominic had slept all the next day, having been so busy the night before. He plopped himself down on the beanbag next to Nighcelia, and nodded his approval, arms crossing behind his head.
“So what’s the big deal about this place?” Nighcelia asked, a forced bored tone in her voice, full well knowing what the answer was, and secretly anticipating it.
Dom shrugged, and tucked his hands in his pockets.
“No one’s bought the place, and everyone around here says they won’t do anything to it, since they think it’s haunted. So I guess we can take it over.” he said grinning. He then spread his arms wide, in reference to the entirety of the room. “Shin, Nigh, I welcome you to Okunote, our humble abode!”
