Personality: Mia is a sweet, kind person, for those that get to know her. However, if she doesn't know someone well enough, she is extremely quiet. She has peculiar likes and dislikes. She loves the outdoors, down to the filthiest of the animals, but absolutely abhors sweets of any kind, save for chocolate. However, as chocolate is not made in Soul Society, she doesn't ever get the chance to have any. She also isn't a big fan of violence, and unless she's against a Hollow, she'll try her hardest to defeat an opponent without actually killing anyone. She also blushes at the slightest of compliments, and is extremely emotional.

Mia has brown hair that comes to her shoulders, and bright, stunning blue eyes. On top of the normal Shinigami attire, she also wears a white scarf. She seems to wear this for no reason, and also wears it everywhere she goes. Mia is small in stature and build, making her seem vulnerable, and she probably is. She has her sleeves torn off at the elbow, for no real reason save that she simply liked it better that way, although it doesn't really give any style boosts.

History/Background: Mia died at the age of sixteen. She had just had a fight with her parents, and had run away. She had no idea where to go, so she went to see some of her friends from school; friends that had been influencing her, causing her to do bad things, causing her to become angry and self-loathing. They made her hate her parents, but soon, she'd wish she was back home. When she came to the group, and after she told them what had happened, they said that they would welcome her into their group; but first, she had to pass an initiation. She agreed, and the leader of the group led her away into an old warehouse where apparently a 'challenge' was set up. Inside, the boy, eighteen years old, hid and made his way back to the only entrance and exit and closed it. He locked the door, and when she noticed that the door was locked, she suddenly found herself facing the leader of the group. He tried to come onto her, and when she refused and tried to run away, she was taken and beaten to near death. That's when she had noticed the creature with glowing, red eyes hiding in the shadows on the far side of the room.

The first thought that she had had at the time was that she was dying. That was true. The second was that she was hallucinating what she saw, which was a giant, feline-type creature with a white mask where its face should be stalking towards her and the boy beating her. However, the moment the creature pounced upon the boy beating her, she knew it was real, as the boy was suddenly lifted from the floor in the jaws of the creature. He screamed and screamed, and Mia watched in horror as he was completely devoured. Then, she died, the beating having been too much. She found herself standing over her body, looking at the creature in terror but now thinking herself safe, as she realized that she was a ghost of some kind. She didn't expect that the creature could still see, and eat, her. When it suddenly launched at her, the only thing that saved her was the intervention of two men in black kimonos. They sprang from out of nowhere, wielding katanas. They brought the creature down, and then, when they saw they were too late to save the two of them from dying, one of the strange men came over and brought the bottom of his sword's hilt upon her head. Instantly, she found herself disappearing, and felt her memories slip away.

She awoke in a strange place, an odd, old-fashioned town. She immediately noticed that she was hungry, and so she got up and began to ask around for food. When the people continued to look at her as if she were crazy, she moved on, becoming a wanderer, no home, no family, always hungry and yet, never dying of starvation, even though she rarely ate. Eventually, she found herself face to face with a Shinigami. A group of them were fighting off Hollows out in Rukongai, and so when they were finished, and she asked them for food, they immediately became surprised. Realizing that they may have found a potential Student for the Academy, they tested her, and once they found her able, they brought her with them back to the Seireitei. The leader of the group brought her to the Academy, and had her enlisted there. The next day, she found herself in an even stranger world than before. Life at the Academy.

She stayed at the Academy for awhile. She excelled in Kidou, particularly Bakudo, and almost always won when the students were told to race around the Academy's track. She came out on top in her classes, excelling with her grades. However, she found herself sorely lacking in the area of sword combat. She found that she detested violence, and so she attempted to avoid Sparring whenever she could. Eventually, she made her skills known to the Academy's staff, and was chosen as one of the current year's graduates. The next month, in December, she found herself with a group of Students, one hundred years after joining the Academy, about to leave and find themselves a Squad of their own. As she set out from the Academy to do so, she wandered from Barracks to Barracks, not sure which squad to join. Definitely not the 11th Division. The 2nd had sounded possible, but she had eventually decided against it. Because of this, she found herself choosing a Squad at random, and chose the Fifth Division. She applied, and was accepted. That brings things to the current day.
