Looks: Ren has the appearance of a bishōnen, which sometimes earns him the contempt of some of his male classmates.
Even so, Ren appears to be very popular at his school, excelling in his studies and in his athletic abilities. He is 4' 11",
weighs only 95 lbs. and has blonde hair and green eyes. He usually is seen wearing a red fleece jacket and in the colder
weather an additional pink coat.


Personality:
He looks up to his cousin, who he calls Nee-sama and admires his Kazuma-Nii-sama (Older Brother),
stating that one day he hopes to be as strong as him so he can protect everyone.
Ren believes that evil is to be purified with holy fire rather than destroyed altogether.
He never holds a grudge or seems ill-tempered. When intimidated he usually backs down
but whenever protecting some one is involved, he never gives up.

Special Characteristics: Ren is trained in martial arts and the ability to use En-jutsu (炎術, Blaze Technique).

General Power: Ren is a skilled En-jutsushi, and has a power called the Golden Flame. He cannot be killed by fire damage, only fatigued.

Techniques/Abilities:

1. Fireball: Your basic fire attack. It has lower than average damage capabilities,
though can be thrown at decent enough speeds and doesn't require much energy.

2. Fire Shield: A small shield, big enough to cover Ren's body and protect him from small projectiles
such as low-powered quincy arrows and small firearms ammunition.

3. Golden Flame: The Golden Flame has the strongest purifiying effect of all En-jutsu.
It has the ability to incinerate weak enemies and purify their spirit, sending it to the soul society.

History:
Ren was born into the Kannagi family twelve years ago. The family is revered as the most powerful fire magic users
amongst the spiritual community. The branch families usually merced themselves out to the highest bidders but the head members
of the family remained within their compound in Japan. Ren is the son of Genma and brother of Kazuma, both infamous members of
the family. His father exiled Kazuma some years ago due to his inability to live up to the Kannagi family name so Ren was left to
look up to his cousin Ayano, the next head of the family.

When Ren came of age, he was trained to use fire magic as all other members of the main branch did. He was not allowed to go to
school for fear that he may accidentally reveal his powers. He was trained and school in private within the compound, only socializing
with close family friends. He only recently gained the ability to manipulate the sacred Golden Flame, one of only a few unique abilities.
This was not too surprising considering his father is one of the few masters of the God's Fire. It was soon after he gained this power
that he was given certain privileges, such as leaving the compound during certain hours of the day. It was during this time he met
his first hollow...


Role Playing Sample:
Ren strolled down the street, taking in the fresh morning air. He was, for the first time in his life, allowed out of
his family's compound to roam the towns nearby. He decided to take the scenic route through the park, noticing all the bright colors
of spring accompanied by the sounds of birds and small insects. Suddenly an altogether different sound erupted into the air, and
unnatural howling sound that send birds fluttering away. He looked up at the birds and noticed the direction they were fleeing from,
deciding that was the direction the sound came.

"I wonder what that could have been?" Ren stared towards the large grouping of trees in which the birds had
been resting on and attempted to peer through them. Suddenly another cry came from that direction, except this one was human...
A girl's to be exact. Ren's eyes widened and before he even realized it he was running in the direction of the plea for help. He dodged
trees and large amounts of brush until he came to a clearing in the middle of the group of trees. Hidden from sight from the rest of the
world around him; lying in the center of the clearing was a girl. She was cowering beneath a large masked creature, a crazed look in its
eyes. It howled once more and lurched forward towards the young girl, mouth wide open.

Ren acted quickly, summoning up the fire within him and sending it hurling towards the beast. It crashed into the thing's mask and left
a small scorch mark beneath the right eye hole. It growled and turned towards Ren, eyes peering down at him as if it were confused as
to where the fireball had come from. Perhaps behind the kid? Seeing as how it barely affected it, Ren tried to lob a few more towards the
creature in rapid succession. Five more balls of flame smacked into the mask, leaving similar scorch mark but having no real affect. The thing
seemed to laugh as it trudged up towards Ren and picked him up. It's large claws ripped at his clothes and cut into his skin. He realized
that this was probably a mistake, now he knew why his family kept him within the compound. Creatures like this were out here... Ren looked
down towards the girl, he eyes wide with fear as she watched the young fire magic user about to be eaten. He knew she'd be next too...
There was only one thing left he could try, he began to summon the golden flames, the renown purifying fire.

In a flash of golden light, the creature's arms dissolved, leaving him and the beast engulfed in flames. It howled out in pain and stumbled
backwards. Ren landed on the ground below, rolling forward to lessen the impact. He looked up in time to see the fire spreading to the
creature's torso and then onto its mask. Upon incineration of the mask, the beast dissolved, never to harm anyone ever again...
