A dance with a devil (Pajaro)

Month after his last visit

He was reluctant to come here, but after much research he had found that this city was a hot spot of activity. The assault of those four hollows had come as a surprise, but at the same time it wasn't that rare of an occurrence it seemed. He hadn't come here to fight, he came to study. Arawn was curious what it was about this place that drew so many hollows. Taking the backpack off he started to set up the senors and radars. There was something else that bothered him, the city was also home to many humans with supernatural abilities. What was shocking was that no one had bothered to look into that matter either. Hollows and superhumans weren't natural, and yet here they were in great abundance. Arawn finished setting up the radar terminal and put the backpack back on. The machine would take air samples and scan the area. He wanted to find a water source to test the water's contents and then get a soil sample. The night was young, he had wanted to arrive earlier, but had work most of that day. The moon was full in the sky, almost like the sun in the starry sky. He kept his phone on vibrate, he didn't want to be caught unaware again. Silently he jumped across the rooftops, placing smaller sensors for his radar station.

Pajaro saw this shinigami, apparently intent on setting a trap of some sort with that equipment. The shinigami was setting up senors it looked like, from his birds eye view it would be apparent that the net was not finished, and it was time to break stuff...

Pajaro dived, his batish wings fluttering from the decent. He charged an Onda Llamarada in his mouth and thought where That hollow that he had made a pact with could be at a time like this.

Pajaro started to level out, firing at the big piece of equipment, thinking the bigger the more important that it might be. Pajaro then swerved and started a low approach to the shinigami that was still setting up equipment, and charged 3 Onda Llamarada, 1 in his mouth, and two in each hand, and continued his approach hoping to catch him off guard with a rapid assault.

The phone in his shirt started to chirp. The alarm was for the radar terminal the signal had stopped. No sooner had he pulled the phone from his pocket it started to vibrate. A hollow had found him so quickly. He turned around, sure enough he saw something coming to him. There were 3 bright lights, he didn't like the look of them either. It wasn't 3 hollows, the radar only showed a single blip. The creature was coming in fast, letting his reiatsu flow outward he quickly recited. "“Thunder shake the heavens, roar and shatter the silence, blaze and split the darkness. Hado #4 :Byakurai!” Arawn cupped his hand together and let dual spells combine into a single large blast. The sky lit up as the large blast of white energy erupted from his hands at the approaching hollow. He wasn't worried about the buildings, the monster was high enough in the sky that his kido wouldn't cause any unwanted destruction.

Pajaro finished charging his Onda Llamarada, and then he saw the white light, and knew it was an attack of some sort.

Pajaro activated light flight, and speed torward the white blast. Pajaro fired his Onda Llamarada at the blast, all three of them, and flew through the the collision, but didn't realize that the white blast kept going and took damage to his wings and face.

He crashed through though, and shut down light flight. He tucked his wings and aimed for the shinigami.

The problem with such a large attack was that it obstructed his vision. The light from the attack nearly blinded him, and when the light faded he saw a shape barreling at him. He tried to dodge the monster's dive by leaping to the side. He wasn't quick enough and the creature clipped him halfway through his evasion. The strike sent him spinning sideways and violently to the ground. Slightly stunned he got to his feet. He couldn't stay down for long. Arawn made a quick assessment; he didn't seem heavily damaged. He felt a welt growing on the back of his head. One thing was certain the hollow could fly so he had to keep moving or confine him somehow. He dug into his backpack with his left hand, he felt the familiar orb. It looked like he was going to get a chance to try his project in actual combat. His right hand pulled the sword from his back, in his left he held the black orb with a yellow button on top. Now all he needed was an opening.

Pajaro popped to his feet, his claws on his feet crushing hte concrete in his grip, and Charged an Onda Llamarada in his left hand and said, his gravelly voice, "Im sorry shinigami but you taste good.", Pajaro smiled, as much as a mask would let him, and had still had his wings folded, to stand properly and straight like a humanoid should, and fired after apologizing.

It can talk!? Arawn was amazed so far all the hollow he'd seen were mindless beast. If the situation wasn't so dangerous he would have loved to have a conversation with the hollow. A part of him knew the conversation couldn't be that engaging from a monster that ate others. The words he spoke told him that. The creature's words had almost distracted him from the incoming attack. Arawn pressed the yellow button on the device in his left hand. As the attack launched he tossed the orb at the creature's feet. He crossed his arms in front of him as he took the energy blast head on. The light burned him, but his arms guarded his face from the onslaught. The force of the attack was enough to toss him from the roof onto an adjacent building. Arawn slammed onto the concrete and rolled, he stood up and looked up at the roof he had just fell from. It was only a two story drop, but his body ached. The shinigami robes were in tatters, there were holes and burns all over. His arms were scorched.
"3, 2, 1, 0! Raiton: Jibashi!" As he spoke the orb at the hollow's feet clicked and the mechanism fired. A blast of electricity cascaded outward engulfing the area. Even from the distance he could see the flash of light. The orb was a success, but if it was effective was another matter all together.

Pajaro finished firing and sighed, starting to walk forward to the Shinigami, who seemed quite hurt, as he still kicked an orb, he looked down and his eyes widened, a grenade! Pajaro charged and fired a weak Onda Llamarada, at arawn, but it hardly fired before he was encompased by energy, and collapsed, his chest rising and falling, the hole in his chest, feeling nothing. His red eyes glowed, but he wasn't moving for awhile...

The hollow hadn't come down after him, he could only think that the device had been successful. That or the creature knew he was down there and was waiting for him to come back up. Either way he had to go check. If the bomb had worked there was no telling now long the creature would stay stunned. The size of the bomb would have no trouble with a human sized target, but he had no way of testing the effect on a different biology of a hollow. He needed to get up there and shatter the mask. He raised his hand.... it was empty. The blast must have disarmed him, he looked around quickly he noticed a faint glimmer from the street below. "Damn!" Wasting no time he jumped down to the street to retrieve the weapon.

Pajaro struggled to his feet, looking for his opponent, His Wings were locked on his back, so he walked. Pajaro immediatly charged 3 Onda Llamarada. He felt the shinigami at the street. Pajaro ran and jumped, off the building, charging Onda Llamarada in his feet. Pajaro quickly charged those, and yelled to his opponent, "DONT HIDE" Pajaro started falling, and he would fire them all at once, but he might not finish charging the ones at his feet.

Not sooner had he landed that he heard the creature bellow. He cussed under his breath. Apparently the effect wasn't long enough. He made another mental note to try to improve the voltage on the bomb. Arawn wasn't sure how he would accomplish such a feat, but there had to be a way. Those thoughts would have to wait; the hollow was falling down at him. As the monster fell he saw lights. The same lights as he had seen before that burning energy had hit him. One, two, Five in total. This wouldn't end well. But then he realized the creature was falling and not flying. That means he can't dodge at an attack. There was a way; he only prayed it could pull it off. Gathering his reiryoku he shunpod. In an instant he vanished from the ground and found himself in the air; several feet above him and the building he had jumped from. He cursed again. He had overshot his target, he had hoped to meet the creature in the air. He still had the element of surprise, but he was too far away. The hollow was falling away from him as he too dropped to the ground.
Sa Shin Mu: Baek-Ho! His left arm became heavy and he sank like a stone. Arawn fell from the sky and plummeted down into the hollow and both of them crashed into the ground below. The sidewalk cracked and the buildings shook with the impact as dust and dirt flew into the air. After the smoke settled Arawn stood atop the semi-buried hollow. The full brunt of the impact had been absorbed by the hollow's body. He had survived the fall almost uninjured. The shinigami looked down a his mangled left hand. His knuckles were raw, the skin broken and bleeding. His incomplete technique hadn't protected him during the ground shattering strike. Arawn silently wondered if there would ever be a time he could finish a mission without being hurt. He sighed. Sword clenched in his right hand; he raised the blade high over his head and brought the edge cutting down into the mask. The white bone shattered like an eggshell and the body started to break away.
