Personality: Since his extended out into the Material World where he hid for some years upon becoming Captain Commander, the once lazy, yet naive young man has developed into an even more interesting character. For one thing he has learned quickly never to reveal his their true personality to anyone - that’s part of the manipulation. He strives to look good under any circumstances because this reinforces their charisma. To say that Kaito has become cunning is an understatement. He is a master at what he does. Many could learn alot in the art of subterfuge from this young man in this aspect. The remainder of Kaito's personality rooted in his old nature.Generally he has absolutely no problem being engulfed in solitude... In fact, he perfers it. Seeing how the humans behaved around each other however has taught him to rarely look to other people for any kind of comfort.

More importantly he had grown to understand the importance of his role as Soul Society's Captain Commander, but these changes that have formed inside of him may not necessarily still have him being the good guy. Only the furture will tell whether or not the Saruwatari that left as an obnoxiously lazy, yet enthralling young man has allowed his heart to be tainted with the seeds of misery and desire for retribution.



Appearance: Kaito has black hair that falls messily around his face, but he never brushes it away from his eyes because he claims that his vision is not obstructed by it. His eyes are an odd red color, almost crimson in nature and they can be seen even in the dark when the rest of Kaito’s body is hidden. Normally donning a normal kimono and obi, as is the norm among shinigami, but he doesn’t like to wear the white undergarments that most shinigami like to wear since it causes him too much trouble to put on in the morning. Despite his disgust for doing training of any type he is physically blessed with a lean, athletic body. This disgust soon changed after visiting the human realm where he watched men of both good and evil struggle through physical, mental, or emotional regiments to position themselves in a place of power. Seeing this made him desire a stronger body thusly granting him the well muscled body that he has upon returning to his post in the Court of Pure Souls.

Abilities:

#1: Constant Release: Thanks to the already massive reserves of spiritual power that Kaito possesses his zanpakutou remains constantly in its shikai state granting him access to all the powers that a shinigami attains when shikai is released at all times.

#2: Noroi (Curse): The Zanpakutou’s main ability is upon striking an enemy or enemies, numbers do not matter each person struck with the opponent is inflicted with a wound that will continue to bleed no matter what healing methods are applied to it (kido, zanpakutou abilities, etc.). A bond is forged between the opponent and the zanpakutou in which unbeknownst to the user (unless Kaito explains it) the zanpakutou feeds upon a small amount of the user’s blood and spiritual power. This effect is multiplied when the user is struck multiple times. However, the same goes for Kaito as every injury inflicted by Meibatsu also is inflicted him as well.

When the word “Noroi” is spoken any injuries including the injuries coming from the ritual are healed over an extended amount of time through cellular regeneration

Amount of blood absorbed each post after struck: .030% of blood (*it’s a total loss of 3% of blood for a normal human to lose consciousness)

Injury healing rate:

Minor injuries (small cuts, bruises, 1st degree burns, etc.): 1 post
Moderate injuries (substantial gashes, 2nd degree burns, broken bones, severed nerves, etc): 5 posts
Major injuries(deep gashes, 3rd degree burns, most damaged internal organs, severed limbs, etc.): 8 posts

*Should the head be cut off, this cannot be regenerated and Kaito dies. Also if the heart is damaged this also cannot be regenerated as this is partially where the spiritual well of a shinigami exists. Poisons are subjected to being regenerated.

#3: Kami no chi (Blood Armor): This ability hardens any of Kaito’s blood either using it defensively or offensively. An example would be should he be wounded by a sword slash immediately the flying blood can be hardened into shards to impale the opponent. This ability can only be activated upon every 3rd post of thread. This ability can also be used within Kaito’s body to harden the blood so that attacks that are strong enough to break the dermis can be stopped by the blood directly beneath. Essentially it grants Kaito the ability to increase the density of his blood.

Description of the Bankai:

Kaito’s bankai is a completion of the meaning of his shikai, Meibatsu, which means Divine Retribution. His shikai symbolizes the pain that is inflicted upon one when they engage in warfare by each strike inflicting internal wounds upon the soul. The Hinduism acrimony is that if one could harness the pain shared by both parties then that person would have the ability to empathize with all people in the world. The bankai refers to the evolution of man as a whole dividing Kaito’s soul within six separate bodies, which must have been attained by a particular ritual. Each body stands for the six qualities for the worst attributes of man which are embodied in the Asura, Evil Materialistic Gods: Pride, Arrogance, Conceit, Anger, Harshness, and Ignorance. Kaito understands this philosophy to mean that these separate personalities are the paths through which a human fails to comprehend true divinity and by becoming these paths then meshing them to one, the greatest power can be born.

In this stage the bodies which have been initiated into Kaito’s bankai are now clothed in a tattered cloak that is midnight black with hoods attached to them. These hoods remain over the heads off all the bodies except for Kaito’s own body which has the ability to think for himself. Other than this fact coupled with the separation of Kaito’s soul into these bodies is the major aesthetic difference. Ability wise all the bodies are able to wield the abilities that were granted to Kaito, however the most important detail is that each body possesses the same attributes as the original Kaito deviating in no one area meaning Kaito’s weaknesses before the release of Bankai are the other 5 bodies weaknesses. Furthermore Kaito’s ability is limited to 6 posts of active use with a 6 post resting period in between because more of the opponent’s blood must be drawn in by Meibatsu. Kaito’s own blood cannot be used to fuel the Bankai. Another restriction is that Bankai cannot be activated without another person’s blood having been devoured by Meibatsu.

Abilities:

Ability 1:
Kamui (Clarity)- all of the nerves that have been rearranged within the bodies including Kaito’s own body link them to one another granting them on a numbed level access to the same sensory information as the other bodies allowing them to feel, see, touch, smell, and hear what the other bodies are experiencing. This can also be a weakness in that in feeling pain all the other bodies suffer due the link that exists between them which is another reason for the restriction upon the amount of time Bankai can be activated.

Ability #2:
*Increased Synapses- the overwhelming stimulation of having to synchronize with several other bodies of course is sustained for only a short period of time (explained in above explanation) however it offers both an increase to speed and reaction as well as the user's ability to comprehend various situations. + 5 Speed & + 5 Intellect (while using Bankai)

History/Background: In life Kaito was a laid-back, jovial young man who was rather blunt and was very unafraid to tell people how he felt, even going so far as being disrespectful to his superiors. Most people thought him to be a lazy, uncaring slacker, but on the contrary he was a man of high morals - in fact, it was his idealistic dream to purify the world of its woes and trouble. He practiced martial arts and was a prominent figure in his town’s athletics. He was good enough to get a partial scholarship to a Japanese school of Business. Even there he was always a little bit of head of the pack. He still kept up his martial arts, which was odd for someone like him to be spending his time doing, but he kept doing it because he loved the challenge it presented. Oddly enough he became something of a genius in the Haidong Gumdo, a sword based form of martial arts.

The better he became at martial arts the more he felt his, what he called his "chi" grow. It made him feel good to have such influence and control, and it made him believe that he could take control of his own fate. One night as he was going through his late night "katas" a force slammed him into the wall of his house and Kaito heard an ungodly voice bellow, "what a yummy spiritual pressure". Then Kaito felt what he thought was teeth bear into his flesh. As Kaito felt his life slipping away from him he didn't scream, he didn't pray to God, he didn't even cry out. He calmly looked at the ceiling, closed his eyes while grinning. He muttered to himself, " What a shitty way to go out...Hell is gonna pay for making me die early..."

Fortunately Kaito didn’t end up becoming a hollow since he truly was not overwhelmed with his death. Upon entering Soul Society he was forced to put his incredible mental abilities to good use just to survive the harsh realities of the Rukongai area. He made a name of himself by studying his opponents or those who had threatened to harm him long before the time for confrontation came. Even before he was a shinigami he had a knack for watching an opponent and being able to understand their abilities, both strengths and weaknesses. One day he ran into a shinigami and impressed the shinigami with his ability to read the situation and he was immediately sent to the academy to harness his incredible potential. After be enrolled for only two weeks Kaito soon became one of the most talked about students in academy history, but it was because he was failing all of his classes as a result of his being lazy. Eventually Kaito managed to pull himself together and in doing so he ended up becoming one of the select few students to ever obtain a ranked position upon their graduated from the academy. Currently Kaito has just returned from a long excursion from the Material World, but with his personality has changed dramatically from the lazy bum that had once roamed the courts of Soul Society. The personality behind Kaito's past is dark and it has already seen to be giving the young shinigami problems as he tries to realize which part of him is the real Kaito Saruwatari.


Rp sample: Kaito was laying down on a wagon as he was being pulled through the countryside of the Rukongai area. The driver of the carriage hadn’t noticed when he had managed to sneak his way onto the cart. The air blew through the boy’s dark as he puffed on his blow pipe and watched the smoke give away which direction the wind was blowing. Kaito loved to see the heavy smoke particles disperse into the open air was other elements mixed in with the smoke creating an entirely new compound. It made him wonder about the subtleties of the world that people missed simply because they paid way too much attention to useless stuff without ever asking themselves the importance of doing the activities in the first place. With a sigh he started to close his eyes when suddenly the cart jerked to a stop, quickly jarring him out of is comfortable dozing.

Kaito heard a roar and he groan audibly as he realized what had happened. At first he continued to lay down hoping that he wouldn’t have to do anything, but then the old man in an attempt of trying to escape the hollow spotted him, “Y-Y-You’re a shinigami, right?” the old man stammered. Kaito didn’t bother to answer since he refused to fight the hollow in the first place he felt it didn’t matter whether or not he explained that he was a shinigami or not. It looked as if the old man was going to continue to beg Kaito when suddenly the hollow sprung upon him, knocking him out of the cart and onto the ground. At this Kaito let out another sigh as he grabbed the hilt of his zanpakutou while standing up. While he did get up the boy didn’t want to stand up completely so he propped himself up into a crouching position as he stared completely uninterested at the hollow, “Alright, just die so I can get to sleep…” Kaito lazily said to the hollow. The hollow didn’t take to well to his warning and instead attacked Kaito, who didn’t bat an eye, he quickly calculated the distance between him and the hollow as he flicked some of the hay from the kart up into the air.

“That should do it” he thought watching as the straw got into the eyes, mouth, and nostrils of the damned hollow in front of him. It sailed by him having been blinded and Kaito decapitated it, without any witty remarks or prideful arrogance. It wasn’t his style because he was too lazy for such things. He looked to the old man, “Come on, you troublesome person” he said, “Get back to driving” he complained as the last of the hollow’s spirit particles dissipated into the thin air.
