OOC: I'm not quite sure how many parts there will be, but I would a think a decent few if I continue the pace.

IC:

Part 1

Tatsuya walked onto to the dark empty field, it wasn’t uncommon for the sparring field to be empty around this time, and after all it was past 10:00pm. The sparring field was a better training area considering the length of his sword and his size. He didn’t feel as constricted as he did in the dojos. He carried with him his zanpaktou and a bamboo sword. The bamboo sword wasn’t a regular practice or sparing sword, but one that was specially made at his request by a local craftsman in Seireitei. It had the exact same weight, length, and balance points as his zanpaktou, something that he heavily expressed he needed when speaking with the craftsman.

Tatsuya took his zanpaktou and placed it on the ground before walking towards the middle of the field. Tatsuya had already believed that he had become adept in the basics of sword fighting and felt that he could move on to more advance techniques. Advance and dangerous techniques that is. This is why he chose to practice alone; he didn’t want to risk getting distracted over something trivial. He always felt that he was a more adept hand-to-hand fighter and because of that, thought he was left more unprotected when using a sword. With that in mind he wanted to train himself to seamlessly blend his own fighting style into his sword skills.

Tatsuya began his training with the bamboo sword, by doing a basic kata swing it left-right while taking small steps forward; left-right-left-right-down left-up left-etc backwards. This continued for a while until he felt properly warmed up with his sword. He put the sword down and proceeded to shadow spar. He never cared how far his reach was just so long that hit the enemy, but he knew now to take notice if he wanted the training to go as planed. He began quite simply throwing punches, taking note of how far his reach was on both arms and then switching his stance repeating the process. He even took note of his reach from one hand to the other, to how far his steps were.

Once he felt comfortable about the placement of his body through his basic techniques, he went over to retrieve his bamboo sword. Upon picking up is sword he just stood in one spot, not moving. He stared at his sword before beginning to spin it around. He started by tossing his sword in the air, at the same time making it spin before catching it with the opposite hand. The spinning in itself was very slow allowing for it to turn only one and a half spins before Tatsuya would try to catch the sword. He was a bit disappointed, only because each time he tossed it into the air he would end up throwing it too far out of his reach causing him to step toward the sword to make the catch.

Tatsuya had been throwing the sword for over an hour before he began to catch it while standing in one spot. As soon as he felt confident enough he began to throw it into the air, spinning the sword faster and faster. He continued through the whole night all while staying in one spot. As the spinning became faster, he stopped trying to count the number of spins completed by his sword. He never lost focus on his sword, his eyes were constantly focused on it, to make sure that it was caught; this fact was not lost on Tatsuya, but only because of the end result he wished to grasp. He did not want to rely on his eyes telling him where his sword was and when to grab. He wanted his instincts to be his guide, to tell him where his sword was in the middle of any technique he threw, so that he could grab hold of his sword from any angle he was in without the slightest of urges to look for it.

Tatsuya had lost track of time when he noticed the first morning light. The sun had yet to cross his plain of view, but he could see beams of light shooting over the horizon. It was time to go. Though Tatsuya had only practiced one technique for hours he was content with the training. Tatsuya picked up his zanpaktou and began to leave the field, as he left was lost in thought. He knew that it would be quite a while before he could apply any new technique that he would learn into actual fighting, but the end result would be “Something Crazy.”
