| Full Name: Hassun, Aponivi Meaning: "Stone watches the gap where the wind blows." Alias: U’tlunta Age Of Appearance: 18-20 Real Age: 500
Birthplace:Soul Society
Looks: (Please include a picture if you can and at least a paragraph of description.)
Personality:
- Anti-Social: Hassun is a Bounto; for reasons stemming from this fact he has, in his many years, been the recipient of a great deal of malice. Though one his age should have long ago risen above their tormentors; Hassun is still dealing with the wounds of the past. He tends to freeze up around large groups of people. Nor does he do to well around those he is unfamilar with; his mind constantly trying to figure out what they are thinking about him or how he could portray himself in a more appealing light. Upon first meeting anyone he comes off as rather unnecessarily nervous, and not to be taken seriously. However, this is simply a defense mechanism; Hassun becoming more sociable and less nervous as he grows more comfortable with the individual with whom he is interacting. Hassun also has a tendency to forget names, though he can remember faces well, he generally will not be able to remember an individual's name until he's heard it atleast five times.
- Self-Conscious: Hassun tends to act, and then look back and deconstruct bit by bit why he acted in such a fashion, and whether or not it made him look like a fool. Though this would be fine if done in moderation, Hassun does this almost all the time; even whilst doing something that requires his immediate attention. That is to say that this problem causes problems during situations which require focus, for if one is busy deciphering their last action, while fighting; their focus is quite obviously divided. All in all, when placed under pressure, Hassun tends to become awkward and nervous. However, when a situation becomes life threatening Hassun tends to care very little about whether or not he looks like a fool; survival is a must.
- Ambitious: Though awkward and somewhat self-hating Hassun possesses a great deal of self motivation. He is one of those rare individuals whom when placed under a great deal of emotional, financial or physical stress, can push themselves just enough to overcome; though not always unscathed. This is not to say Hassun is simply some kind of freak that can endure grievous wounds and somehow keep going, though he can and has; Hassun at some point during his life decided that he refused to live a life of mediocrity. For this reason alone, he does not believe he was created to serve a higher purpose or anything of that sort, Hassun aspires to become greater than any other being.
- Self hating: Hassun despises himself for what he desires; souls. In his opinion he is worse than a Hollow, for at least when a hollow kills and devours their victim they produce something, another hollow; when a soul is devoured by one such a Hassun it becomes a part of him, though not in the sense one would assume; part of him in the same way what you’ve eaten last night is a part of you. He doesn’t just kill; he robs things of an afterlife, and a chance at reincarnation. This, disgust for himself developed over a great period of time, and in no way hinders him from feeding on souls; he values his own existence too much. He is a hypocrite, somebody who pretends to have admirable principles, beliefs, or feelings but behaves otherwise. And he knows this, and hates himself for being such.
Though he possesses a great many less than positive traits, Hassun has the ability to inspire and lead others when the situation requires it. How he does this while hating and doubting himself is a perfect example of what is called double think; he acknowledges his hate for himself yet ignores it completely and carries on as if he has a great fountain of self confidence; all the while knowing that he is pretending to be something he’s not.
- Nonchalant: Hassun, more often than not, does not take things as seriously as he should. He was not always such a way however, after one has lived for such a great deal of time; done so many things, seen so many places, one begins to belive they’ve seen it all. If not all, most of what is out there, Hassun has already encountered; therefore he tends to shrug off things that he deems of no real consequence.
- Pessimistic: Though he wishes his view of the world wasn’t so black, it is undeniably so. Hassun has adopted the belief that one should always look on the dark side of things, to avoid disappointment. This is not to say that he sees the world in shades of grey, simply that he refuses to g et his hopes up to high. That being said, even though he may not believe he can achieve something, or do something, he won’t give up in his attempt to do so.
- Sarcastic: Hassun tends to meet certain comments with marked Sarcasm. In some cases he does so to make himself more comfortable, whislt more often than not he does it because he finds it to be entertaining. Though some of his sarcastic remarks may be hurtful to those which they are targeted, Hassun generally doesn't mean any harm.

This knowledge can and has been applied to combat situations; Hassun is very nimble and rather difficult to hit when he wants to be.
- Mastery of Taekwon Do: Though his doll takes the form of a fist, Hassun is skilled in combat with his legs as his primary weapons aswell; having spent a great deal of time in Korea during his travels through asia.

History: ”A slap on the rump.”:To say Hassun was born by conventional means would be a falsity. For Hassun wasn’t born, he was created; though he is unsure how or why. Like most of his kind he dwelt in Soul Society for a small portion of his existence, before he was deemed a threat to the world which the Shinigami were comfortable in, accustomed to. Hassun like a great many other Bounto, admired his creators, the Shinigami. He viewed them in a way akin to how a young child views their parents; the Shinigami were, after all, the closest thing he had to parents. He was however, along with others like him, viewed in a completely different light by those whom he admired. Hassun was still ‘young’ in the sense that he had not stopped aging yet, meaning his body was still immature, when the Shinigami relocated the Bounto to a rather large cave. It was during this period, that the cheery disposition that Hassun once possessed disappeared and his contemporary Anti-Social, pessimistic persona was created. During his stay in the concentration camp reminiscent cave, Hassun experienced many a hardship; the culmination of his trials being the escape from the Shinigami during the Bounto-Massacre. At some point during the frantic flight of the Bounto, the group with which Hassun had escaped with was cornered. Much like animals, the Bounto fought their likely executioners, Hassun included; though he possessed no Doll at the time. After being proven to be a great deal weaker than his pursuers, Hassun panicked and ran, he didn’t want to die; he had seen what happened to Bount when they die. He ran for years, never staying in one place too long; unsure of whether the Shinigami pursuit had ceased. Eventually, the weight of his guilt for his cowardly actions collapsed upon him, and he sunk into a deep, dark depression; as he wandered the Earth, alone. “U’tlunta:” Hassun, by some strange twist of fate, ended up in pre-historic North America. Fitting, considering his appearance is best described as being close to that of a Native of the Continent. He was alone, as previously stated, drifting across the continent at a leisurely pace; his only companion being his own guilt for not dying long ago. Loneliness unbearable, suicide became a more and more attractive option. One night, admist a horrifyingly powerful storm, Hassun gave into his want for death’s soft embrace; he flung himself off the side of a cliff which straddled the ocean. However, he did not die; Hassun awoke sometime later, surrounded by people he did not know, and did not like. They prevented him from dying; because of their meddling his suffering under the weight of his own self hate would continue. Much to his dismay, Hassun soon realized that he had lost more than a chance at death; his right arm had been torn completely off. His longing for death became new, and fresh, like it was during the first few years after his abandonment of his comrades. He was now a cripple, completely at the mercy of those who cared for him. Much to the surprise of his caretakers, Hassun managed to survive; this was in no small part due to his less than normal body, ofcourse he wasn’t one to speak of himself so freely. Hassun had forgotten the language of man long ago, becoming mute, even though his vocal cords were in fine condition. It was during his stay with the people who rescued him, the Hopituh Shinumou as they referred to themselves, that he once again began to speak. As he healed, Hassun began to gradually brighten; the people were kind, like those he left behind. They called him Aponivi; for they found him at the base of “the gap where the wind blows”. His stay was enjoyable; he came to love those whom he dwelled with. He was their people as they were his; his happiness was short lived however, for he was soon overcome by the thirst. For a long period of time Hassun was able to feed off of the souls of the dead which wandered the lands around him discreetly; nevertheless, one night he was caught in the act, by a rather powerful spiritual leader. By the next day those whom Hassun had grown to love rose up against him; Hassun was once again forced to run. He made his way back across the continent, eventually he reached the ocean on the other side of what he came to know to be called “Turtle Island”. It was there he earned the title U’tlunta, a term which refers to one whom devours others in order to live forever. Given to him by those he terrorized; he despised himself once again, for what he was, what he did, yet he couldn’t stop. Leaving Turtle Island:
Many years later a group of men whom were colored the same way as much of soul society set foot on the continent of Hassun’s dwelling. He came across them completely by chance, they immediately sparked curiosity within him; he had no idea that people outside Soul society came in different colors. They attempted to converse with him, he ofcourse had no clue what they were trying to say; through some strange series of events Hassun ended up upon their ship and moving farther from his home by the moment. It was during his stay on this ship that Hassun learned English, though his English never quite became as good as that of his shipmates. Half a year or so later, he arrived in what he came to know as “Great Britan”; he was to represent his people as an emissary to the Queen. Knowing how he wronged his Hopi family and the rest of the dwellers of Turtle Island, Hassun knew in his heart of hearts that he could do no such thing. He slipped out of his place of holding that very night and began his wanderings again. Across Europe: Whilst he made his way across Europe Hassun saw and did a great many things, it is in Europe that he infact gained the name Hassun; the Europeans had a strange custom in which it was considered proper to possess more than one name. When he became aware of this Hassun, seeking to do nothing more than blend in more efficiently gave himself the name which he possesses today; keeping what he considered to be his true name as his surname. His way of telling the world that he still considered himself to be Hopi; though he felt he should never set foot in Hopi land again. Hassun meaning ‘stone’ for like a stone Hassun does not age, yet little by little pieces of what he was at the beginning of his life disappear. It was also in Europe that he learned the art of boxing, and being one handed, became something of a novelty. He ended up traveling with a freak show troupe; he was after all, a one handed, red skinned, white haired man, an amazing novelty at the time. It was the advice of his Troupe master that Hassun learn some tricks to stay interesting to the public, acrobatics to be more precise. He did as he was advised, life was boring alone; he felt he should prolong his stay with the troupe for as long as time allowed. It took him a great deal of time, but Hassun became quite proficient in acrobatics, having learned from one, whom many considered to be rather amazing, which traveled with the same troupe. However it took him something like ten years to reach that point, and by that time he became increasingly aware that his companions would begin to suspect him of being something more than Human if he stayed. I think I’ll visit the Orient: It was the early 1900's and Hassun had grown bored with Europe. There were rumors floating around about a place called “The Orient”; it was supposedly full of strange looking people whom possessed strange customs and the like. When shown a drawing of such people, one in which a man holding an item Hassun vividly remembered the Shinigami using as a weapon, Hassun’s was instantly filled with a want to see all there was to see in this “Orient”. Also, Europe was in a state of turmoil during that period, and Hassun saw no reason to risk his life by staying. Hassun arrived in China sometime later, it was there that he met a man carrying an ever so familiar book. He did not speak the language too well, and ended up paying a great deal of money for the text, which upon closer inspection was old, worn, and missing most of the front pages. Hassun was nevertheless able to gather from what he read that this book which he had purchased was instrumental in “Summoning a Doll”. He wasn’t sure if he wanted a Doll, he had done fine for himself alone, and had no need for any sort of supernatural weapon. There was the issue of combating the ever present Hollow however. They usually didn’t bother with Hassun, for though he was unaware of it, he had been subconsciously hiding his reiatsu since his attempt at suicide. They did on the other hand have a tendency to kill those around Hassun. For this reason he preformed the Doll Summoning ritual; Hassun intended to pay for his feeding on the souls of the dead by defending the living. When the ritual was complete Hassun was given a most wonderful gift, his right arm back. Though it was not as it once was; what was once reddish brown skin was now black and possessed a flakey scale like feel. The nails where long and unseemly, it was something that Hassun knew he could not allowed to be seen by anyone else. ”It talks?”: Hassun’s plan to protect the living ended up failing before it began, and though he got his arm back, he had to not only learn how to use it again, but keep it bandaged at all times lest he conjure up an angry mob. He was immensely disappointed in himself; one night as he prowled the streets in search of his next meal, Hassun came across a weakened Hollow. It had seemingly managed to make it away from its Shinigami pursuers yet not unscathed. Figuring that there was no time like the present, Hassun attacked the beast; he was promptly over powered by the Hollow, whom proved to be stronger than him even in its weakened state. Once again Hassun was forced to flee for his life; it was becoming abundantly clear that if he didn’t do something soon he would spend the whole of eternity running. And so Hassun stopped and faced that which pursued him, it was then that Hassun’s Doll released itself. It had never spoken a word to Hassun before this moment, and he had no idea there was anything more to it than what he had seen previously. The doll was separated from Hassun’s Arm by a thin layer of reiatsu, moreover it took a form which looked more suited to combat. It was now larger and covered in a black armorlike substance all the way up to Hassun’s fingers, on his palm a large red orb was inlayed. It was from this Orb that the voice of Hassun’s doll was heard. It introduced itself as “Abelard”; the introduction was cut short for Hassun’s pursuer had caught up with him. As the Hollow, now confident that it could easily over power Hassun made its way toward hassun, Abelard quickly divulged some information on how Hassun was to use him whilst in combat. Though he didn’t absorb all of it, Hassun understood enough to vanquish his foe. Exuahsted, he made he collapsed on the ground, not awaking until the next day. ”We have lived for a long time. It is so long that our sharp memories have begun to chip and dull. My “me” today is starting to see the world in colors again. Can I take a little longer?”Hassun spent the remainder of the 20th century in Asia, during this period he became quite proficient in a number of things, the Wing Chun and Judo styles of combat, the Chinese language, and Korean; he also became rather good at cooking. Likewise, after defeating said Hollow Hassun reinstituted his policy of protecting the living as penance for devouring the dead, during this period he became quite skilled in the use of his doll; Hassun and Abelard also became rather close; Abelard being what seemed to be the only thing in existence that was able to understand Hassun’s inner struggle. After the world moved into the year 2000 Hassun decided that it was time for a change in scenery; he gathered what little he kept and made his way to Japan. He fumbled around for almost a decade before winding up in Karakura town; he has no intention of staying for any prolonged period of time. Yet something in the air makes him wonder if hanging around for a few centuries would be such a bad thing.
