Tataki was in a rare good mood today. It was probably due to the fact that he was undergoing personal kido training once again. It’d been a while since he’d taken the effort to go about learning and fine-tuning more of his kido. Now that it was time he was ready to start on the practice. Today was going to be a bit of an interesting day considering that he would be playing with water today. He wasn’t usually one to go about messing around with elements other than fire and lightning, but the nature of the two spells had intrigued him for a long while, but he’d never went about putting either of them to practice.

In preparation for this training, Tataki chose the perfect environment to begin his kido practice. It was an area around a large body of water. It was like a pool, though it was dirty. Surrounded by dirt, it had grasses growing from it but they didn’t grow out very far. The ground was soft near the pool though hard only a few feet away from it. Hard to the point that the dirt felt like solid rock. Tataki needed the water and it was one of the easiest places to find. This was a place he wouldn’t have to be worried about being bothered. If anyone tried to bother him today they would regret it for life.

“Acid Splash,” Tataki played with the name a moment as he thought of what he was going to do with it. Tataki could try making his own water, but this would be easier and faster. Walking over to the body of water, Tataki slipped his hand in and from his elbow forward he let it sit in there. What would happen if he tried turning that pool of water into acid? What would happen the next time someone tried training with it? Then again, trying such a large size of water would probably be too difficult for him on his first try. It would probably be safer for his arm if he wouldn’t try it anyway.

Tataki released a quick breath as his eyes focused on the water. His energy already in motion, he manipulated his spiritual power and concentrated it to his hand. He could feel the water start to move. It was strange. It was like his hand was within a steady vortex that was focused in the center of his palm. It tickled slightly, to which Tataki grinned. He slowly pulled out his arm free from the large body of water and there, in the palm of his hand, he held a sphere of water. The water cycled around, slowly, and was maintaining its form in his hand quite easily. Something like that wasn’t all that difficult for Tataki. Water was considerably easier than Lightning and it had applications more demanding than fire. Water had to be focused, concentrated and maintained. It didn’t just flow free on its own. It needed that pressure and that “push” as well as an occasional kick to keep it going. Water nature was like that no-good lazy fool that does nothing without being asked to do it.

Now, to make acid. Tataki started to bounce the ball of water, throwing it higher than his head and catching it without spilling a drop. He could keep the form even when it was out of his hands so long as his energy was within and it didn’t burn out all of his spiritual power. These were the basics. It was basic form and maintenance. Applications were the harder portion, however. “ Burn mine enemy who's hatred for me boils. For anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” He said the incantation nice and slow as he watched the water slowly start to change in color and feel. It was a little warm now and he no longer had to focus his energy to rotate the sphere of water. It was well anchored by his words by this point.

“Easy.” Tataki said aloud as he slowly tilted his hand and poured that orb on the grass. It poured from one single area as if he were pouring it from a bowl and in a straight line down. The sizzling of the grass was a clear indicator that it was acid. “Too easy,” Tataki would say, squatting down to watch as the plants were slowly ate away. Looking at that made Tataki wonder how exactly acid burned. Tataki stood up and thought a moment.

“Guess I’ll try it that way then,” He figured, guessing that casting the spell without any water this time would be the next challenge. Creating a pure orb of acid would take more concentration, focus and ability. Tataki looked at the acid and watched the plants shriveled and keeled over. Standing up he walked a few steps from the body of water.

He took a few moments to analyze his palm. As if he wanted to remember every bit of it before he was going to summon up this caustic substance. Tataki finally closed his fist and prepared to cast the incantation.

"Sssss," Hissed Tataki as he dove his hand into the pool of water. "Wow. That stings," He said as he was cooling his hands in the water. Thankfully, that water managed to cool the acid on his hand and make the burning go away. It was a good thing that he had decided to train here because he didn't know any major spells for summoning a bath of water at the moment.

Tataki slowly brought his hand out from the water to look at his palm. There was a nice, thick burn in the form of an jagged X. The skin turned a very light pink around the burn which was an even lighter color. "Huh," Tataki stared at it a moment. It still burned, but it wasn't bad at all. Tataki thought a moment, thinking about what had went wrong exactly. He had prepared the correct stance and even spoke the incantation. So where did the burning of his hand come from if everything was performed correctly?

Tataki smirked. "Time to try again then," He decided, more than happy to go another round. Even if his entire hand had burned off...He had another one. Tataki wasn't going to fail with a kido that interested him so much. To think that he messed up bad enough to burn himself. That was rare. Extraordinarily rare. He knew his limitations and his capabilities and almost never miscalculated in such a manner.

"Burn mine enemy who's hatred for me boils," He started, building up his spiritual energy. He could feel the rush of power flooding his body. It felt like his veins were moving quicker. Was he being too anxious? Over doing things? Maybe he was just a little too excited after being burned. "For anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

He released a relaxed breath and watched as an sphere of acid formed above his palm. "That was easy," He thought, throwing it on the ground. "Too easy." Looking at his hand a moment, he tried to figure what was wrong? Well, whatever it was, the mistake was learned from now.

Tataki put his hand in the air and looked up at the sky. "May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickedness deliver their judgment upon those around. Hado 10 • Rain of Pain," He stated, the sky above him growing dark and the air a little cooler. Soon after, acid rain came down and it came down on him too.

"Ouch!" He said, lowering his hand so that the kido would cease. He was still pelted with the occasional dropplet before it stopped all together. His clothes were now lightly wet with acid and he could feel each and every spot where the acid had landed.

"Huh...I think I figured out what I'm doing wrong."

"The water is a little different when it's not in my hands," Tataki figured as he put the last of his academy level uniform back on. He had to take a dip and he plunged his clothes in the water along with him. He would have done it even if someone was looking. Tataki really wasn't modest in any sense and really didn't care if he managed to ever make someone else uncomfortable, though there wasn't anyone around today anyway. He had little to worry about.

"This is probably one of the more useful Kido, so I couldn't imagine it being an easy one to cast. The mechanics are pretty straight forward though. I finally see why now." Tataki looked up at the sky and thought a moment at just what he was doing. Building moisture overhead and generating the dark, ominous clouds that would be summoned up. The moisture wasn't your typical water either. It was that corrosive acid that was gathered up by the clouds. Tataki's mistake was so simple. Tataki was focusing on the liquids and not the clouds. He was just willing the water a transport so it could come down. He wasn't focusing on the entire machine. The entire body of the producer of his flesh eating rain.

"I guess in this case the package is even more important than the prize inside," He said bringing his hands together slowly so that they were palm to palm with his fingers outstretched. Tataki cut his eyes and started to focus on his inner energy. This was the first time he was going to put 100% concentration and focus into this spell. Gathering his energy, he set his mind on not making rain of acid, but acid-rain bearing clouds. It was the clouds that were the most important in this spell.

"May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickedness deliver their judgement upon those around: Hado Number 10 • Rain of Pain," Tataki took a deep breath as he felt his energy flow out of his body and the sky once again began to become dark. The spell would direct itself and would aim to make that Rain of Pain regardless, but this time he knew he would have better control. It would be like putting a leash on a wild dog you set free. Now, the reign would be in his hands.

It took a moment, but the rain came down just as he had wished. The rain came down and Tataki felt it running down his body. It was warm and smelled a little like iron to him. Tataki held his hands there for a moment, getting a general feel for the spell. Though he could cast it, he wasn't anywhere near perfection. He was going to have to find a way to cast this without the overly long incantation and to try and expand the radius a little. However, this kido wasn't like many others that he had cast before. It was an environmental one. It was a special class type that wouldn't be exactly that easy to enhance. Especially not compared to the fire and lightning skills that he had.

"Hmmm," Tataki thought, slowly breaking his hands as he looked up at the spell. How was he going to go about expanding it? What if he simply put more power into it? No. That alone couldn't bolster the range of a spell. It took a little more than just power to increase the effectiveness and use of a spell. Tataki knew that best. You had to have some skill to use a spell to it's greatest.

Tataki exhaled, canceling the Rain of Pain's downfall. The clouds remained over head. Tataki looked up at it for a moment, considering it's properties. "8 yards maybe?" He said, trying to judge the distance with his own eyes. "7 to 8," He reaffirmed using a mental measure to judge the area of the black clouds. Though not an area of only 8 yards, it was about a 8 yard radius. That was incredibly small. "I want to double that," He said, optimistic. An 8 yard diameter across. That would be a nice sized area. It would be twice the size that it was now.

Tataki took a seat as he kept his eyes on the clouds over head. A few minutes passed and he was standing again, a few more minutes and he was laid flat on his back, another few minutes and he was on his side not even looking at the clouds, another few minutes and he was making a diagram in the dirt. Tataki had been mulling it over for a good 40 minutes, all the while maintaining the black clouds overhead. It wasn't that hard, so long as the rain wasn't falling down.

Tataki looked at a collection of acidic puddles and decided to try what he had thought. Tataki made a perfect dome around one of the puddles by pushing the hard dirt in to it. It was like a miniature little pool. Tataki then took his finger and dug his nail into the dirt at the edge of the pool to make an exit for the water to escape. He did the same on three other sides and, at the end of each little pathway he created a smaller circular hole in the hard dirt. The pool thinned out, but it now had 4 additional miniature pools at four corners.

"Huh," He thought, seeing his predictions played out in his little test. Tataki stood up and stretched his arms. Tataki looked up, motioning his hand for the sky, and the black clouds parted, thinned, and dissipated. "Thinner," He thought, "More spread out," He added, "Branches," He had this little plan ready. Looking at the form of the puddle it looked like a large round body with cardinal poles where small pools were made.

"6 Yard Radius," He said, mapping what he was going to try. He was drawing with his finger in the air, trying to get a mental picture now on top of his drawn on. "And four 3 yard radius. The bridge between them should be 5 feet in length," He was judging the distance with his eyes and finger. He was estimating for the most part, but his calculations were very close to perfect. Calculations. They were a great deal different than the actual testing.

Manipulating the clouds, not necessarily the water inside. That was what defined this Kido. Realizing that, he'd taken one step after another to getting to this mastery level. He would absolutely need the incantation for this and he would need near perfect focus and concentration. He couldn't be distracted.

It would take great, great focus of his energy. He was going to have to tone it to a level he hadn't in a while. This training of his energy in order to refine these Kido was going to need all of his intellect and spirit power.

"May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickedness deliver their judgement upon those around: Hado Number 10 • Rain of Pain," Tataki said, both hands in the air this time. Tataki closed his eyes as he put that mental picture to the words. His mind was telling him that those words meant the formation of clouds that he pictured. As Tataki's eyes were closed he felt those familiar warm droplets fall upon his face. Tataki looked up and saw the compass formation of the spell.

There was the one large circle that had a northern bridge, southern bridge, western bridge and eastern bridge and each of these bridges created a smaller orb at their poles. It did expand the range of his spell quite a ways, though at the same time it was more open than it was before. The spell was more of a bulky cross with a wide, circular middle and orbs at it's tips. Though it was more open, it was a great deal further out. To put form to a spell...Even Tataki was impressed that it worked. However, it didn't work for long. Tataki felt...A sudden wave of loss as the spell carried on.

"Huh," The spell dissipated and he crossed his arms. "Still needs work," He said, thinking that there was a little bit of stress based on that form. It wasn't complete and was only active for a few seconds. He would have to work on that spell. For now, the basic form that it was cast in would be the safest to use. He didn't want to play with that feeling he was getting from it. It could be something that was a little more costly than it looked. Today was still very progressive. He'd toyed around with a few Kido he'd never used and now mastered them just as fast. If he continued to keep mastering Kido in such a short time he wouldn't have anything to do with his time. Though, there would probably be more like the Rain of Pain that weren't all that easy to tweak or manipulate.

"Ah. Whatever," Tataki decided, thinking that he'd done enough today. He was tired of being wet. This training was over.
