Gran Bola Cero App

Ryouta stepped into the lab and instantly pulled his mask down. Today we’re going to learn something a much harder than the Cero Doble, Stein’s voice said in his head. This is what I call a Gran Bola Cero – adapted for use by you, that is to say, us, it is at full strength even more powerful than an Espada’s Gran Rey Cero.

"Let’s get started then," Ryouta said aloud. "How do I do it?"

You must form a focal point in your mind, and pour exponential amounts of energy into it. It will feel as if your mind must surely break from the strain of holding all that energy in one small place – but you must persevere! The reward is power beyond imagination! Stein’s voice was high and excited. Since Ryouta had learned Cero Doble, their relationship had gotten far more cordial – Stein even seemed genuinely happy for Ryouta whenever Ryouta accomplished a goal.

“All right,” Ryouta said aloud. He raised his left hand and concentrated. A ball of energy formed at the point of his focus. It slowly began to gather energy, but quickly picked up as Ryouta’s momentum and impatience forced it forward. The ball grew and grew, seemingly without control.

Don’t lose control, Ryouta! You will hurt yourself, keep it under control!

Ryouta’s brow furrowed as he fought to keep the ball of crackling energy under control. The ball shrank back down to its original size, but quickly grew again, and then with another burst of concentration on Ryouta’s part, shrank down again. This continued for quite some time, the ball of energy growing and shrinking as Ryouta fought to hold his concentration, to keep the immensely dense ball of energy from exploding in his face.

At this point, he began to feel excruciating mental pain. The sheer strain of having to focus so much of his attention on that one point in space and time was indescribable. He felt as if his brain would tear itself apart in an effort to stop the pain. His left hand shook as the strain took its toll; shook so much that it caused his entire frame to tremble at the power he held in his hand.

You are holding the power of the sun in your hand, Stein thought at Ryouta. Do not relinquish it! Hold it! Hold IT!

Ryouta closed his eyes and continued to pour energy into the ball – though in a different way than he had been previously. Now, he was forming barriers of energy around the ball to prevent it from exploding, though the ball’s power was so great that it kept disrupting the barriers and adding their energy to its own. It was truly incredible, if Ryouta had had the time to ponder its implications. The ball was practically self-perpetuating; it seemed to draw energy from everywhere at once, so intense was its power.

At this point, Ryouta’s mind was beyond pain; it was as if agony was the only thing it could register, the only thing it could augment. Excellent, shouted Stein’s voice. Use the pain! Inflict it on your enemies who are foolish enough to challenge the pair of us!

With a scream, Ryouta forced the power outward. The resulting blast was incredible to behold; it threatened to completely obliterate the lab, and everything and everyone in it. Ryouta could only hope that his kido shields would hold. And they did, partially. However, some places were charred and flickering, indicating that replenishment and repair would be required. “Well, at least I did it,” said Ryouta. “I’m going to have to invent something to make this easier.”

Cero Speed: 5x the speed of a normal Cero
Special effects/details/description: Besides being much larger and faster than a normal Cero, Ryouta can change the direction the Cero is going, making it difficult to avoid.
Preparation: Unfortunately, Ryouta requires a post of just charging the attack to be able to use it without the aid of a technological “crutch” – however, see Mechanical Arm for further details on making the technique more “battle-friendly.”
Restrictions: Only that Ryouta can’t use it unless he has his mask on.
