Learning to balance.

Elick decided today that he needed to be able to swing, without leaving huge openings. Calmly walking into the dojo, he visualized an opponent, and then tried to pull off a simple overhand swing, to a rising thrust. The momentum threw him off balance and he tried to catch himself before extending to far.

Looking around he noticed that others used shorter strikes to keep themselves on balance. He tried a simple series of thrusts to an angled strike, which once again threw him a bit off balance.

Deciding to pull out a dummy, he put his Zanpakuto in one hand and sat there, making over hand blows at the dummy, trying to hit the exact same spot each time, at the same depth without throwing himself off balance. He continued until he felt comfortable. He was never able to fully control the blow, but he felt that it was good enough for the time being.

Switching to his other arm, he was only able to make a few wild swings before the pain was to great to continue. He stoped and then re-wielded his Zanpakuto with both hands and swung. The first few were wild be he quickly got it to the point where he was almost where he got to before hand.

feeling exhausted he sheathed his Zanpakuto, put the dummy away, and proceeded to leave the dojo.

Kia walks into the dojo not really intending to do any training but just out of pure boredom. as she walks threw the door she sees what seemed to be a child with a comically large sword, she giggles and tells the boy "little boys shouldn't be playing with grownup weapons"

Elick looks at what appeared to be a little girl and said, "This is my Zanpakuto thank you very much. Do you have a reason to be here, or you just here for the view?" He lets out a slight sigh and looks back at her and is kind of taken back by the oddness of her eyes.

Kia giggles thinking to herself that this kid could provide her with some much needed amusement. "as a mater of fact i don't have a reason to be here other than i was bored, and as for the view there isn't much to look at" she said with a smirk "If it wasn't for that ridiculously disproportionate sword i probably wouldn't of even seen you short stack." Kia giggles taps the boy on the nose with her index finger and walks past the boy spins around and asks in a very condescending voice "can you even swing that ridiculous toy without falling over"

Elick looked at her, kind of confused and just had to ask, "What is your name? I have not seen you around in the last few days, and I am quite new here myself. As for if I can swing this, yes. yes I can, I can also hit things with it." He looked around to make sure that if anything happened he would have enough room to move. He smiled a friendly little smile, but placed a hand on his Zanpakuto.

Kai looks the boy in the eyes and sighs irritated at his oblivious reaction to her insults. her eyes flash mischievously "Im sure you can hit a stationary target just fine but can you hit a moving one?" she asks ignoring his question.

Elick raises the amount of pressure, more as a shield just to feel safe, so if anything were to happen.. "Yes i am fairly sure i can hit a moving target. I may not look it but i am quite quick." He stated, lazly rolling his eyes, but keeping his full focus on her, to make sure she did nothing sneaky.

Kia smirks at the rise in the boys spirit pressure "would you like to play a game, the prize is my name." Kia smiles and turns away from the boy and walks about 10 feet away from him spins around ant put on her cutest smile " if you manage to hit me with that toy of yours" she says grabbing the 2 strings on her wrist and in a quick moment sends her 2 dagger length zanpakuto spinning in circles at her sides "i will tell you my name. but no cheating no kido and no trying to over whelm me with that spirit power of yours." she sticks out her tung at the boy. "same rules apply to me. what ya say?" kia spins her blades with a smirk on her face waiting for an answer.

"Sorry, i dont like having limiters when i engage with someone who i believe may be equal strength." Elick says, with a slight grin on his face. "If you wish to do a "catch me if you can" contest you should really rely on your own strength, and not need to limit others down." Elick looked bored and tapped his foot hoping she would change the conditions, because he knew that as he was, he could not catch her outright.

Kia sends her daggers flying into the ground and then crosses her arms. her face becomes very sireious "the contest is to see whether or not you can use that sword not your skill with kido" she states her eyes locked on the boys irritated that he would try to change the rules of her game. "besides this is the dojo we are supposed to be practicing are skill with are zanpakuto are we not?"

Elick sighs, takes his Zanpakuto out, and say's, "Arm yourself, and you may start whenever you are ready." He goes into a defensive position, not knowing how she will react to his open invitation to start.

A slight grin came to Elick's face as he felt that this would begin soon.

Kias cute smile returns to her face happy to get her own way giggling she snaps her wrists and returns her blades to there spinning "The game was for you to try and hit me your move kid"

Elick grinned, and sprung towards Kia, making an over head strike, then threw himself to the side, using the momentum to bring his Zanpakuto around at about torso height and took a step back, to see how she would react to such a basic attack.

Kias eyes flash with excitement as the boy rushes her with an overhead strike she quickly sidesteps the blow. As the boy brings his blade around for an obvious side strike she ducks under the sword, at the same time she sweeps one blade at his ankle wrapping the silver thread around it and as he steps back pulls attempting to trip him before he can regain his stance.

The metal wire wraps his leg, and Elick falls to the ground. Upon hitting the ground he looks down, and see's nothing that should have tripped him. He kept a firm eye on Kia and stood up, making a rising slash as he stood, just to keep the distance.

Hoping that he would not trip again, he took a step back, and got into a defensive stance, this time hoping that he would be able to at least stay on his feet. He realized that he had gotten a bruise from falling, but no real damage was taken.

Kai giggles happy with her success, as the boy gets up she steps forward to the left of his rising strike and rolls around his shoulder and stops behind him playfully leaning her elbow on his head giggling happily "your gonna have to be faster than that" she teased

Having someone slip right next to him, and put there arm on his shoulder freaked him right out. He almost lost control and his spirit pressure shot right up, and he jumped away from her, hoping to get some distance.

Upon getting away he relaxed and swore, for she made a rule about that. "My name is Elick. I believe you have earned it, so may i now know your name or shall we continue this game?" he asked in a pleasant tone, hoping to not anger the girl.

He did remain in a defensive position, wielding his Zanpakuto in his right hand keeping his left hand free, just in case.

Kia jumped back at the sudden burst of spirit pressure and giggled at the overreaction to her touch. she listened to Elick, whose name she thought was just as amusing as the rest of him, with a smirk sheathed her blade at her hip and slowly walked towards him.

as she took her last step bringing her very close to Elick she taped him on the nose and said "my name is the prize and you have lost." she giggled and crouched down, slowly unwrapping the wire from around Elicks ankle and returning her second blade to its sheath.

Kia gets up and turns away from Elick and begins walking to the door of the dojo. as she make her way to the door without looking back she waves over her shoulder "better luck next time Elick" she giggled

Looking confused, and feeling defeated he waved goodbye, hoping that she would one day warm up to him one day.

"I hope to see you around or something, and hope you enjoy yourself here at the academy" He smiled slightly and turned to walk away.
