Waiting for a squad to pick him, he wondered why it was taking so long.
Theses were the thoughts that pased through his head as he went through the motions of the Spinning blade stance, a stance designed for fighting multiple opponents. Of course he was so well practiced in it that his body did it n its own while his mind though of other things. Thus katrex, a spinning ducking and jumping black and silver blur weaved his way though the empty Dojo, blissfully unaware of anything around him, knowing he'd pick up any killing intent if someone entered the room.

Fresh air, a strict running regime, a light breakfast, and then all day, non-stop training was what awaited Kasumi as he lazily walked through the Academy. He had already finished the first three subjects of his schedule, and was on his way to start the third. He had his wrists resting lightly on his Zanpakuto's hilts, head angled slightly upwards as he silently found his way to the dojos at the sparring grounds. He watched a lone person doing swift, careful strikes, although their eyes told him they were miles away.

Kasumi decided he'd spice things up a bit. He waited and watched, taking stock of the maneuvers the Shinigami was flowing through effortlessly. When he had the pattern down, he opted for his move. He rushed forward when there was a downwards sweeping arc, whipping his blade out as he ran and blocked the progression of the other's blade.

"Mind if I join you in a bit of a spar? The name's Hitotsu, Kasumi." he replied, a sharp-toothed grin spread across his face as he held his blade lightly against his potential opponent's, awaiting a response.

That beautiful moment when everything went crisp. Oh how he loved it. The instant that killing intent flared, before his opponent even moved his mind blanked all thought and emotion draining to nothingness leaving only pure focus.
Hi opponent had picked the perfect moment to strike, but the studying this stance would help him not as it was designed to fight multiple opponents. Kat would clearly change his style accordingly.
The boy was bloody fast though, so while normally he'd have a chance to counter he could only block.
His eyes blank he nodded in response. "Astra, Katrex". He had to concentrate to be friendly, this wasn't a real enemy, so focusing his personality he added, "Of course you may, though friendly waning to even things out, don't lock blades with me or you will find yourself quickly disarmed"
He took a step back disengaging. And focused himself again, thought and emotion gone. He readied himself for an attack as he suspected the boy would dance away from him if he attacked. And thus looked for the perfect moment to riposte and jar the boys sword, hopefully numbing his hand.

Kasumi was taken aback by this guys demeanor of confidence. Admittedly, his Reiatsu was a bit richer than his own, but not by much. When it boiled down to it, they were about evenly matched.

"You should never underestimate an opponent, no matter how powerful you are. It annoys me to no end when someone of equal power to another looks down upon them in contempt or as if they are somehow better. As for the remark about disarming me, have at it."

His dark eyes flashed in anger and he rushed forward again. He had his drawn blade in his right hand and came down in a fluid diagonal slice from the right, but mid arc, he whipped his left hand out, grabbing hold of his blade on that side in a reverse grip as he sliced horizontally to the right at the abdomen at the same time the other blade was coming down as well.

Katrex didn't even hear the man, He had simply meant for the guy to use his speed to his advantage as close up he would be at a disadvantage.

He reversed his grip on his sword, ducked, and then brought the blade up up his left catching both blades and raising them high (over their heads in an arc, and used that gap to try to kick the man in the stomach. If the guy was surprised by it he would in fact jump, using that first kick/step to take another step up his body and jump of his chest with his other foot. Otherwise continue the arc of their swords to his left bringing them full circle to the ground.

The movement was deft and fluid as Kasumi's blades were both blocked and swept up and over. his instincts kicked in and his body reacted as a foot was launched at his chest. While the swords were swinging to the side, Kasumi jumped up, powring off his right foot, then relaxing his body. The effect was the momentum from his propulsion and the direction of the swinging blades caused his body to pinwheel in the air, getting him out of the way of the foot, and allowing him freedom of movement of his blades.

While he was spinning, he lashed both blades horizontally, while at the same time he bent his body at the waist, lowering his legs and aiming to grip around the neck of his opponent. If the attempt succeeded, he would tuck and roll, flipping Katrex over him. If he didn't connect, he'd continue the movement of his legs, hopefully landing behind him.

Katrex was slightly surprised at this attack but his instincts were too honed for him to react in anyway other than instantly. Those legs might as well have been a sword to him.

Kat very sharply reversed his grip (back to normal) ducked the two blades as the two feet approached his neck,and as he came back up with his full body and weight twisted back the direction he had come a full 180 degrees smashing would be sword in to the legs that would grip him and no doubt radically altering the boys spin. Kat then took a 90 degree step to the left and brought his sword under him and then up to where Kasumi would land.

(basically imagine him doing an underarm throw with his right arm to throw a ball up to where kasumi would land.)

Hakudo was always difficult when not wearing the right guards... And highly risky.

The counter and and after attack came too fast. Kasumi took the knock to one of his feet, getting the other out of the way. As soon as the foot found purchase, so did his center of gravity and he shoved off the blade in a horizontal direction away from Katrex. He dug one blade into the floor and twisted his wrist, altering the direction he'd face as he landed so as to face Katrex, and pointed 2 fingers at him as he whispered, "Hado Number 4, White Lightning." and landed after the Hado was cast, then rushed at Katrex, thrusting hard with his left blade, and bringing his right blade up in a diagonal sweep after, presuming Katrex would block the thrust, leaving the sweep open to hit if so.
