Rawlen left his room in the Karakura Inn. He walked down the stairwell, well more of a sprinting, as he bound the first few steps and then leaped down the rest of the flight. He quickly made his way to the lobby where he found a very beautiful blonde lady trying to check in. He kept walking past her and the desk as he made his way towards the door. He flung the door open quickly, letting it swing closed behind him. He turned right down the street and walked calmly towards the commerce sector of town. He needed to grab a few things. He walked down the sidewalk feeling the hot, dry air press against his skin. He looked up as the sun bounced off his sunglasses. Sweat dribbled down his face from his hair. He brought his hand up towards his forehead and wiped away the sweat. He flicked his hand to dispel the sweat from the back of his hand as he continued to walk. The sidewalk was bordered by the street on the left where cars were passing by at a relatively slow speed. To the right laid the buildings in the business sector, meaning that they were very tall buildings. The only issue with the way that they were built is that they were built in a line going east and west, so they didn't cast much of a shadow over the sidewalk. Rawlen looked off in the distance. He could see the market in the distance, distorted by the waves of heat casted by the sidewalk and the black paved road. He continued to walk towards the market.
He finally arrived and the first that he did was buy a bottled water. He drank the water down in one go, as some of the water escaped from his mouth and slid down his chin and down his throat. He didn't mind. The cool water was rather refreshing in this heat. He flipped the lady some cash for the water and continued walking. He wanted to grab some materials while he was out, although his real motive was to fix a camera that had malfunctioned in the Market. The only issue was that to get to it, he had to be a little stealthy, for it was a hidden camera. He needed to create a diversion. He walked over to the hunting section and bought a few cases of shotgun shells. He paid the cash register after showing proper identification and left. He walked over to a nearby bathroom and entered, locking the door behind him. He walked over to the sink, pulling a small washcloth from his pocket and placing it over the drain. He quickly ripped apart the shotgun shells, pouring the pellets and gunpowder onto the washcloth. He repeated this action with all of the cases of shotgun shells until they were all empty. He then grabbed the washcloth by the ends and poured the contents into one of the boxes that held the shells. He replaced the washcloth in the sink and slowly poured a sample of the contents from the box into his hands, cupped together to hold the powder and pellets. He created a hole in between his hands small enough for the powder to pass through, but keeping the pellets in his hands. He separated the powder onto the washcloth and tossed the pellets into the toilet water. He continued this process until the contents were all separted. He then flushed the toilet as the pellets swirled around the bowl and flowed down the pipes. He grabbed the washcloth by the ends again and poured the powder back into the box. He grabbed a shell from the other boxes and filled it with powder. He continued this until he was all out of powder, which ended up filling up 6 shells. He took a piece of twine from his pocket and wrapped it around the six shells, tying them all together. He left the bathroom and headed back for the market. He walked by the produce section and stashed the shells by a set of watermelons. He walked away into an alley that had a clear view of the melons, but was hidden from the rest of the market. He slung his bow from his back, pulling back on the string. A bright blue arrow took form across the bow as Rawlen aimed for the set of shells. He let the string go as the arrow flung forward. Rawlen didn't wait as he began to scale the building. He reached the top in no time, as he pulled himself over the wall. He felt the roof shake as the loud boom went off. His arrow had pierced through the shells and the spiritual pressure of the arrow set the powder on fire, making for an explosive reaction. The crowd of people cried out as pieces of melon went flying everywhere. All eyes were on the mess, which made it hard to see in already.
Rawlen made his way towards the camera that was posted just in a corner of the rooftop. He quickly pulled off the shell of the camera and exposed the wires. He pulled a pair of wire clippers from his pocket and snipped one of the wires. He snipped off the other end, separating it completely. He replaced the wire with a new one as he twisted the ends of the wires together, making sure that a current was going through them. He pulled out his cell phone, a touch screen smartphone. Fairly advanced for the time. He pressed his fingers on the screen and swiped in a few different motions before finally accessing a screen with multiple menu boxes. He clicked on the menu box relevant to the area and the screen changed to show the video feed of the market. Rawlen waved his free hand in front of the video camera to make sure it was working. The hand showed up on the phone as well. He was satisfied.
With that, Rawlen grabbed a roll of electrical tape that he left hidden at the site of every camera. This one, being on a roof, didn't require much hiding; He quickly taped up the ends of the wires. There had been a bird's nest on the roof and Ezrachek picked up one of the eggs, sliding the electrical tape back under the egg, where the birds wouldn't really notice. He crawled back over towards the wall opposite from where he had shot the arrow and dropped down to the street. He was sure that people would be inspecting the area where the shot had come from, so he decided to take another route. He checked the street for oncoming cars before crossing. Within a minute, he was far enough away from the market for the sounds of questioning to drown away from audible range. He cut across a few streets to make his way back to the inn. He swung the door open as he entered, allowing it to swing shut behind him. He greeted the man behind the desk with a nod and continued up the stairwell.
"Excuse me, sir. The elevator is operational for your convenience." The man said as he pointed a bony finger towards the elavator.
Rawlen smiled and placed a hand up. "No thanks! An old man like me needs his exercise. I'll just stick to the stairs. Thank you though." He replied and turned to head through the door leading to the stairs. Rawlen began to climb them one floor after the next. He reached the third floor and walked up the stairs towards the 4th floor, completely passing the hidden door to his secret room. He exited through the door on the 4th floor and shut it quickly behind him. He pulled out his phone and accessed another map. He selected the stairwell camera, which was fixed on his previous location. He clicked a few times on the screen and a few beeps emitted from his phone. He turned back around and went back through the door, eyes fixed on his phone which was now monitoring the camera feed. He entered the stairwell and headed towards the door. The camera was on a loop, replaying a 30 second loop of the empty hallway. Rawlen opened the door and quickly shut the door behind him. He looked down at his phone and deactivated the loop, as the camera went back to it's normal feed. Rawlen closed out of the app and locked his phone. He walked over to the computer and set his phone on the desk. He sat down in the chair and leaned back, placing his hands behind his head. His job was done, now it was time to relax.
