Also walking the thinning streets of the town was Akira. He'd been hunting hollows to such a degree lately that he'd forgotten to feed. His hunger was beginning to affect him, so this evening he was out to find something to consume. He passed a few living humans, but decided against attacking them. It wasn't wise to draw too much attention by causing a number of disappearances in the living population. He could try and eat a hollow, but the thought of eating such a ravenous creature like that which only existed to devour souls like a beast made him sick to his stomach. He fought back the thought that always surfaced in his mind when that subject came up. The thought that as a bount, there was little difference between him and the hollows in that regard that both were soul eaters. He just had more control over his mind. Sirene seemed to be in high spirits as usual, unbothered by Akira's mental debates with himself. Just joyed to be out and about without being on the prowl for hollows made her happy. All the hunting lately had made her moody. But now that it was just the two of them on a walk, her spirits were much higher.
Akira found a roadside monument set up with flowers, pictures and a stuffed bear decorating its whole front. It was the scene of a hit and run incident where the parents had shown their care by putting up this monument. Akira searched around and found what he was looking for. A plus soul of a little boy was hunched down against the wall of the nearby buildings looking completely bored. Akira walked over and grabbed a hold of his arm without a look of sympathy anywhere on his face. The boy struggled and cried, but with a glance from Akira, Sirene moved in. Singing out with her sirenenlied ability, she put the boy soul in a slight trance that caused him to stop fighting and stare off into space as Akira chomped down on his neck. His body glowed bright green as his soul's essence was absorbed, and soon he faded away to nothingness. Akira stood up straight again and looked around as if trying to find something.
"While I was feeding, I felt a bit of energy nearby. There's someone with a higher level of spiritual power around here."
