Field Trip

Lavi was standing outside the entrance to the academy, he had to show some of the students the ropes when in the field, he really did not want to do that, but he did not have much choice in the matter, as he owed a favor to one of the instructors, but at least he was allowed to do it in his own manner.
A few students had showed up, but he was still waiting for the last to show up, and he was slowly getting very impatient.

Dray was sitting leaning against a wall at the entrance of the Academy. I wonder what is taking the other students so long, This guy doesn't look to happy, id rather not have a pissed off instructor, well, guest instructor for the trip. Draylon sighed and looked around. Why do we always have to head off so early anyways. It's kind of cold. Dray looked around at the other students, most of whom were wearing the uniform. I wonder if the fact I'm wearing my normal clothes will piss him off. Ah, well no point dwelling on it now, its far too late to change anyways.

Dray saw a figure coming through the fog to their location, and mumbled, "Finally" and stood up, stretching and waited for the figure to come closer so they could depart.

Bishamon appeared out of the fog, dragging his feet and yawning profoundly, he opened his half shut eyes fully and saw some hazy figures in the distance, he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and looked again "oh there's the class" he mummbled; he slowly approuched the class, he was close enough to make out faces.

What a pain this is going to be, the instructor already looks abit ticked off, oh well, can't be helped. He let out a nervous laugh "sorry im late...it was errm the fog you see, i errm managed to get lost" he said as he let out another deep yawn.

He then clumsily made his way towards the group of students.

Finally the last one was there, so far only two had caught his eye, one not wearing the uniform, and another arriving late and not even looking like he was in a hurry, guess a penalty would be in place later, but for now he just wanted to get started, so they could finish up quickly.
He had been known to be rough on the students, but maybe these had not heard about him yet.
Lavi took a short quick around "Alright people, get close and listen" Lavi waited for the students to get close "Today we are going in the field, it will be in a restricted area in the real world using dummy hollows" Lavi would not wait this long before he pointed toward a senkai gate "If you leave through that gate there are instructors on the site that will instruct you further, by splitting you into groups of three" Before people began leaving he pointed out two of the shinigami "However you and you" He pointed at Dray and Bishamon "You two are with me, I got a special training for people who show up late, and not well dressed" Lavi began walking to towards the senkai gate not even waiting for an answer from the two.

Dray watched as the last student arrived. Oh, it's Bishamon, that doesn't surprise me that much. Dray stood around as the temp Instructor explained everything that was going to happen. The instructor pointed at him and Bishamon and said "You two are with me, I got a special training for people who show up late, and not well dressed." The instructor started walking away.

Dray jogged over to the instructor and kept pace walking next to him. "I'm well dressed, I'm just not wearing the uniform." Dray smiled at the instructor then turned slightly serious. "Besides, does it even matter that much? The identifying factor should be whether one has a zanpakuto, anyone can wear the uniform but only a Shinigami has a Zanpakuto."

Bishamon listened to what the instructor had too say, as his and Dray's name was mentioned he let out a groan, this is going to be such a pain. He then saw Dray catch up to the instructor, well i can't let Dray make me look bad he thought, and then he caught up to the instructor and Dray, as too not get him in any more trouble than he already was, when Dray explained himself to the instructor Bishamon let out a slight chuckle, his chuckle then diminished as he saw the instructors face turn even more serious.

There was an awkward silence as they approached the gate, well i better lighten the mood otherwise this is going to be a long day, he turned to the instructor "not that im not thrilled we have you today, but what's happend to our usuall instructor?" he said with a sarcastic tone, as he took a step into the senkai gate.

Lavi did not even turn to look at them as he answered their questions "First of all, your uniform represent you as a shinigami as well as your Zanpaktou, that is one thing you should always keep in mind when you are out of the academy, and join a squad, the way you behave reflects on your squad, so if you screw up or make yourself look bad, it will reflect upon your squad and make it look bad, that is one of the reasons you wear a uniform, but as much as Id like to explain all the fundamental stuff you should have been told before this over and over again, id rather see you work in the field" Lavi tried to get his thoughts together, this was really not what he needed upon the trouble he was already facing, but there was no helping it, it was his screw up that send the usual teacher to the 4th squad barracks "He had an accident, and had to placed at the 4th squad barracks for treatment, nothing severe, but he should not restrain himself, you will be seeing him soon if you mess up today" Lavi went through the senkai gate, theirs was seperate from the others, he hated crowded training, so he had taken some out for a special exercise no matter what, but because of these two, he figured they would be fine to test in the field.
They arrived at an abandoned factory area, Lavi had picked it out himself, the other students would not be far from there, so he could quickly get on location should anything go wrong, it would not be the first time for some students to get on each others nerves.

Dray saw Bishamon catch up and listened to the man's explain why he should wear the uniform. Good point, but he completely forgot to tie in how wearing the uniform has anything to do with that. Meh, he seems really tense i guess i wont push the point. Draylon sighed and walked through the gate and glanced around.

He appeared to be standing at an abandoned factory. As he looked around he noticed rusted metal lying around, a lot of it was in ruins. Hm, they probably use this area regularly for this type of thing, this place is a mess, I can use this environment as a weapon. No other students, they must be fighting somewhere else. A small smirk spread across Draylon's face. Dray started looking around for his opponents feeling out for energy signs.

Bishamon didn't pay much attention as the instructor explained the reason for their usuall teacher being absent, as he got to the other side of the senkai gate he looked around at thr run down factory, scraps of metal lying around, rust appeared to be on anything metal, "what a deppresing place" he mutterd, he took another look around and saw no other students, a grinn appeared on his face "atleast its nice and quite" he said as he looked at the instructor, he could tell the instructor was not in the best of moods and immediately brokke eye contact.

There is no way we can be doing much tranning in a place like this, atleast i hope not. Bishamon took a few paces forward so he was standing infront of Dray and the instructor, and then he turned around to face them "so...what are we doing here?" he asked, whilst trying to detect anyother signs of life around them.

Lavi turned to them, his eye patch making it harder for him to gain eye contact with them, but that was a minor issue here "Ill be blunt here, your two have a simple mission, find and destroy the dummy hollow in this area, it has a low spirit level, but as long as you use your head you and keep your wits about you, you should be able to find it, should you succeed we will proceed to the next step"
Lavi was not sure what to expect from these two, would they work together or split up, both had its advantages and disadvantages, still with so limited information he had given, it would be logical to stay together when facing unknown enemy, but again it was a dummy hollow, so they would most likely expect it to be weak.
Now what would the two choose to do.

He listened to the instructor's "I'll find it. Gimme a minute. It's one of the things I'm pretty good at." Dray closed his eyes and focused on his ears and sensing Spiritual Energy. Dray entered a small trance, breathing in and out slowly, taking in the surroundings.

Birds.... some small critter moving to the left, focus. Wait i think i hear something in the Factory... Suddenly he heard grass shifting around him. "Quit moving.." Focus back, inside the factory, a small creaking noise, and a small spiritual energy... wait... i sense another... much further back, a bit stronger... feels too far to be in the factory. We'll deal with the other one later, lets locate the other one, the creaking is getting louder, about same distance though, seems to be going down, probably stairs.

Dray opened his eyes after standing there stock still for 30 seconds or so. "There is one energy source in the back in the Factory and another probably about 100 feet behind the end of the factory. Let's go finish the one in the factory first." Dray then proceeded to enter the factory, prepared to offer back up if Bishamon needed it.

Bishamon stood there whilst running his hand through his hair watching Dray with curiosity, Bishamon started to glance around; not trying to locate the hollow he already knew Dray was doing that, he just simply was looking at the birds as they flew gracefully in the sky, and then he turned back and focused on Dray as he said "There is one energy source in the back in the Factory and another probably about 100 feet behind the end of the factory. Let's go finish the one in the factory first." Bishamon drew his two zanpakuto, completley disragarding what Dray said about the bigger spiritual pressure further back "right then, the quicker this is done the quicker i can go back to sleep" his eyes went into focus, his body tensed up, he was completely different to how he was a momment ago, it shouldn't be too much trouble if i went on my own to deal with this dummy hollow, but that will require me to put in more effort, ah well i wil let Drat decide if he wants some of the action.

Bishamon then made his way towards the back of the factory and as soon as he could sense the dummy hollows presence he firmly planted his right foot infront and crouched slightley and then sprung forward kicking up a lot of dust in the process, he closed the gap in a few seconds.

Bishamon glanced around and then in the corner of his eye he saw something he turned and saw the unmistakeable appearance of a hollow, there was nothing special about the hollows appearance or spiritual pressure. The hollow was a dark gray, about seven foot tall, it stood on two legs, had its hole through its chest and its mask was just a mask nothing more could be said about it, just a plain hollow mask.

"Heh, found you" Bishamon took his usual fighting stance - putting his left blade infront pointing upwards and his right blade tucked in close to his body pointing to the left. The hollow then let out a loud roar and began its charge.

Lavi moved along the upper levels of the factory grounds, he had used shunpo to get up there, and then kept monitoring the two, they so far seemed to have little communication, but maybe they understood each others intentions with so little, they did seem to know each other.
Now time to test their arrogance and composure, this hollow should barely provide a challenge for them, if they work together, but that was not all he had planned for them, this was what everyone else had been facing so far.
Lavi kept a close eye to see how they reacted after defeating a dummy hollow.

Dray jogged after Bishamon, easily catching up to him as he came across the hollow, who was about 35 feet away . As he watched the hollow started to charge towards Bishamon, "I'm going to try something new, cut it's head when you can." He said there will be more tests so we need to try and conserve energy. I hope this works. If memory serves only high power Spiritual entities can move through the air. Draylon started mumbling "Engulfed by the need of want come forward." and then lept high into the air, doing a flip to end up standing on the ceiling for a split second, "Hado 2, Reel." At that the hollow was thrown into the air as Dray thrust off the ceiling, flipping, to land back on his feet, slightly losing his balance for a split second from disorientation. Draylon then turned around to survey how well the new tactic worked and to see what Bishamon had done.

Bishamon watched as Dray launched the hollow into the air using his kido, the hollow was floating in the air with no chance of dogging his strike. Very imppressive Dray now all i have to do is finish it off, "that suits me just fine, waiting for an oppening would be a pain" he mummbled to himself.

And then he leapt into the air and managed to get to the same point in the air as the hollow, a small grin appeared on his face. He swung his two zanpakuto down like a hammer, slicing quite easily through the mask of the hollow, and with that the hollow was no more. Bishamon landed and looked at the instructor, that was too easy, their has to be more too it than that, he thought.

"So how was that?" he asked the instructor. Hoping that that would be the end of it.

Lavi got a small grin on his face, their cooperation certainly did not seem to lack at all, but what would they do during an ambush, he figured they would possible panic when outnumbered or just attack them head on before knowing the strength of the opponent "Good, but during your hunt you got separated from the rest of your squad, and you now find yourself cut off by hollows" Lavi saw the dummy hollows he placed come out from the shadows, they were not much else than standard hollows, but facing numbers would be difficult for the new students "I will represent the squad by moving south of here, your objective is to get to me" Lavi threw a small sender down towards Dray "That a communicator, I will not be monitoring your advance through the factory now, so if anything goes wrong where you think you may not be able to handle it, you call me right away, the last thing we need is more people in the 4th squad barracks" Lavi looked down on them one last time "Good luck to both of you, ill be waiting south of here" Lavi disappeared quickly using shunpo to the meeting point.

Shortly after he had left, the 4 dummy hollows began stepping closer to them, the first charging in at them from the north, it was standing on two legs 6 feet tall, it attacked with clenched fist towards Dray as the second that looked like a small tiger rushed in on Bishamon, jumping in on him with its sharp claws

As the Temporary teacher was describing the next scenario, Draylon's mind was racing. Dray looked around noticing the hollows as they surrounded them. The instructor threw a small device at Draylon, which he caught with his free hand and stuffed into his pocket and then drew his blade. Draylon watched as the instructor ran off to the south.

Situations like this are a disadvantage to us, we are currently flanked, and perhaps overpowered, damn, completely surrounded. Dray dodged backwards towards Bishamon, til he was behind Him. It shouldn't effect him from here... Dray whispered quickly" Get ready to hit the south one and run! Bakudo 4: Senko!" A Blinding flash was emitted from Draylon. Taking an extremely low stance Draylon dashed by the hollow to the south and took a 2 handed slash at it's legs as he passed. "Keep going! look for a choke point."

Bishamon listend carefully to the instructor as he watched him dash off to the south. He then noticed the hollows surrounding him and Dray "tsk, how troublesome, these dummy hollows arn't much different than the actual thing" he sighed, and then focused on the tiger like hollow pounce at him with its sharp claws ready to strike.

Bishamon slipped to the right of the hollow and jumped backward to regroup with Dray and listend to him run through the plan, and then a blinding light came from Dray, and Bishamon watched the hollow get slashed by Dray and then he heard him shout "Keep going! look for a choke point." Bishamon was about to follow but the tiger like hollow blocked his path, as it jumped at him again leading with its claws. Bishamon slipped to the right of it again as he did last time, and then as the hollow was floating through the air just to the left of him, he pointed the tip of his blade at it and then attempted to stab it in the side of its stomach as he let the hollows momentum make the slash run across its body, and then without looking back too see weather or not it was effective, he then ran, trying to catch up to Dray.

"Ok, we need to take refuge somewhere and think of a plan for taking these things out!" he shouted to Dray, whilst awaiting for his approval.

The hollows were blinded for a short moment before they regained sight, one of the hollows was in that short time crippled by Drays attack, but the tiger had seen the attack in time and moved around them to attack again, but was outmaneuvered by Bishamon, and only by a last moment, by hitting its paw against the blade it was able to avoid any severe damage.
The hollows were quickly on their tail however, not seeming to plan on letting them get away, and longer ahead they would be able to fell more hollow presence, ready to make it more troublesome for them to get trough to Lavi

As Dray ran he glanced back at the hollows, They are only about 15 yards away closing slowly. "Keep going for a little then hit them at range. May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickedness deliver their judgement upon those around." Dray spun around, skidding backwards in a low stance and yelled, "Hado 10. Rain of Pain!" As the Hollows rushed towards him at full speed, a small cloud appeared over Draylon and quickly spread out, spreading acid rain all around him. Dray placed his blade in front of him gripping it with both hands.

Bishamon caught up to Dray and watched him as he used his kido, the acid rain then started too pour down upon the hollow's "well i better make sure they don't escape" he jumped back to make sure none of the acid rain would get him and then shouted "Bakudo 5! Senko!" a blinding light then engulfed the hollow's. He squinted his eyes and placed his hand slightly over them. Now are they still alive, he wondered, well whatever the case i need to be prepared. He then took his regular fighting stance and awaited for the light to diminish so they could tell weather or not the hollow's where still standing...

Lavi had said he was not going to observe what they were doing, but that had been a bit of a lie, he had simply suppressed his reitsu and was standing at the higher platform, and he felt they were having it a little too easy, he talked to the little cat human familiar that now was on his shoulder "Send in the big one, I want those two to really get worked up" The familiar nod and flew away from him.

The hollows were still standing, slightly damaged, and not looking very well, but they then began to scatter pretty quickly, getting out of the way, out of the shadows behind Dray and Bishamon came a 9 feet tall hollow on two legs, and it had it eyes on them, and began to walk towards the two

Lavi got a smile on his face, now what would they do, would they be logical and run for assistance or would they fight even though the odds were greatly against them.

Draylon was surprised when the wounded hollows started fleeing from him, until he felt the presence behind him. what could possibly be that strong, it has hollow energy? What the heck! We should run and bypass, no point in trying to take it down by ourselves. Spinning around and pointing at the Spiritual energy's center he yelled, "Hado 4! White Lightening! Come on!" Hopefully that will slow it down a little bit, and ran back, heading towards the stairs up. If we can get to the second floor we should be able to bypass it entirely. Draylon glanced back to see if Bishamon was indeed following him, and the state of the hollow, to see if his attack had even effected it.

Bishamon instantly felt the strong pressence of the hollow behind them, shit! Dray realesed the kido as it hit the hollow, and then heard Dray shout "Come on!" he fastly followed Dray, i doubt that will defeat the hollow, hopefully it will slow it down, he followed Dray to the stairs and then stopped as he watched Dray climb the stairs "If we both go there it will probably destroy the building entirely, im going to find another route to try and confuse him!" without waiting for Dray's answer he ran off towards another building and managed to get into it without the hollow attacking him, right now too confuse it.

Bishamon raised his spiritual pressure to the highest he could to hopefully confuse or at least slow the hollow down. He climbed up the stairs to the second floor of his building and continued to run.

As the hollow was hit by the lightning, it gave out a roar, before it regained it stance, and let out a fierce roar and was quickly going after them, it was reckless in its movement, and tried to attack Bishamon as he went past, but to no luck, and as Bishamon entered the building, the hollow quickly followed by smashing right through the wall to follow after him

Lavi noticed Dray heading up now, they split up which could be a good thing, but also dangerous because Bishamon had chosen to move out of sight were they could not track their movement, and Dray had the communicator if something went wrong "Yoru go keep an eye on him in the building, if anything happends come back right away" Where after Yoru flew down towards one of the windows to see what was going on in there.
Lavi then hurried away before Dray would have a chance to notice him.
