| The training grounds in the Quincy HQ. Specially enriched or drained of Reishi particles to aid in a Quincy's training. Hado was in one of the areas with little Reishi particles in the air, in fact, he struggled to even form his bow. Since his marksmanship was already exceptional for his level of experience, he had decided to work on abilities of his own design. Every particle of Reishi he could gather was siphoned into his arms and legs, giving him the superhuman abilities that he so often fought with.
A training dummy, one normally used for archery, was Hado's target. The Quincy took off towards it at top speed, launching himself into the air and letting loose a monstrous kick towards the practice utensil's head. A midair spin was performed as the back of his other foot connected once again with the dummy's head. Damage, however, wasn't the Quincy's objective. For whatever reason he seemed to lack the concentration to continue gathering Reishi into his limbs while in combat, even simulated as it was.
Landing softly on the ground the Quincy began to shift the concentration of Reishi in his body. From his arms to his legs, to his arms. To the front side of the body, heck, as an experiment the Quincy even managed to increase his heart rate using the Reishi. The tricky part, however, was continuing to gather Reishi while being focused on moving it.
The Quincy started slowly, focusing on gathering Reishi he could feel his limbs becoming more and more energized. He slowly began to spread the Reishi out, making sure that there was more Reishi to replace the ones that had been moved.
He repeated this over and over, increasing the overall speed by which this was done with each rep. And then, he tried moving. All of his progress seemed to be reversed, but with a certain degree of concentration he managed to level things out in about four hours of practice. He wasn't done however.
For the next two days the Quincy was practicing this, almost non-stop until it became almost an instinct. Almost automatic. | |
