| Sho walked up to the teacher. He was about to receive his Zanpakuto, and could barely contain his excitement. The teacher led him into a building and up to a door, as he had done the other students before him. Sho scratched his brown haired head a little nervously. "You will enter the door, you will choose the blade that calls out to you, and you will exit. It is that simple. Enter." said the teacher. Sho nodded and gulped.
He walked to and opened the door. Inside the room was a seemingly infinite space, full of blade after blade. Sho was mesmerized and wandered through the maze of them, marveling at the shape of some, and at the fact that no two blades were exactly alike, as well as that som were colored. Sho wasn't paying attention and ran into a rack holding seceral swords. They all began rattling threateningly as Sho was knocked to the ground. There was a loud THUNK! and the novice Shinigami yelped, sure he'd ben stabbed with a falling blade.
He lifted his head saw nothing, and turned around to come face to face with an already sheathed blade leaning against him. He breathed a sigh of relief and stood to continue looking, but felt slightly off balance. He looked behind him and realized that the way the blade had fallen had draped the cord which was used to hold the sheath in place over his shoulders, just right as to where he didn't notice it and absently slipped it on. He grinned, and taking this as a sign, quickly left, a skip in his step as he made his way back to a quiet spot and unsheathed his blade.
He marveled at the beauty of it. It was a triumvirate of colors; black, blood-red, and silver. It was approximately 60 inches long from where it met the hilt. It was well balanced and easy to wield one-handedly. Sho grinned as he held up the double-edged blade. He was ecstatic; He finally had his Zanpakuto!
