Hollows in Rukongai! [Ri O'Nocht, Kaiyo, DarkMaster, Kazuhiko]

It was a different day in Rukongai, never had it seen so much chaos. Spirits quickly disappearing getting devoured by Hollow, Hollows led by none other then Mordred. It had somehow controlled other Hollows to do its bidding, either it had incredible charisma or the Hollows did not dare oppose the beast. Whatever the case may be, the Hollows had gotten inside of Soul Society thanks to Mordred and they were causing havoc upon Rukongai. People fled and screamed in terror as they couldn't stand up to the might of so many Hollow, even small groups of shinigami which were around the corner had fallen to the might of the Hollows. How did these Hollows managed to get here? Well it all started back when... In the forest of Menos in Hueco Mundo, Mondred had came back from its daily havoc upon the real world in the spiritual enriched town of Karakura. The pain was back, it wanted more relief, much more. Normal spirits only relieved the beast's pain so much, it needed something more. Shinigami. It had heard that Shinigami souls were different from normal souls, maybe they could relieve its pain more effectively. It was decided, Mordred would go to Soul Society. It opened up a crack in the air and it opened it up attempting to go to Soul Society. But it was stopped, no matter what it tried to do, it just couldn't get through. That is where another Hollow had appeared. Trying to get into Soul Society heh? The minuscule canine like Hollow questioned Mordred, it was unafraid of Mordred. Well ya won't be able to just go there through normal means. Besides you'll only get yourself killed by groups of shinigami there. You'll need a lot of allies. This hollow had somewhat angered Mordred, casually talking with it. But what stopped Mordred was obvious, it wanted in and the Hollow seemed to know a way.

Us Hollows have eternally been hunted by shinigami, but it's gone too far! We've had it with their shit and we wanna repay the favor twice as much! All we need is a Leader and we'll do the rest. Obviously the Hollow wanted Mordred to be their leader, their reasons were different for getting into Soul Society but in the end they both want to get in. Mordred had stomped its arm unto the ground, causing a sort of earthquake. It accepted the role of leader. Suddenly many Hollow had appeared out of the forest, there were over a thousand... Great, now for the explanation on how we're gonna get in. Recently we have found a shinigami in these parts of the forest and guess what... It was a Kuchiki. With a Seikenmon key... That's how we're gonna get in. Through the Seikenmon gates. Every Hollow had laughed, this was perfect Mordred had gotten a army and a way to Soul Society. Something Hollow's had never managed to have done and today it would be the first. The shinigami would get the surprise of the century. The rest is fairly obvious as to what happened, a Seikenmon gate had opened but not to the Kuchiki residence, but in Rukongai, 36th East District. Spirits there expected a shinigami to walk through, instead they have been greeted by Hollows. Many Hollows. This outbreak of Hollows had yet been reported to Sereitei...

The sun starred down on Ri who was lying on top of the squad thirteen barracks. He had get to address his squad as their Captain, it was one of the few times in his life he was stuck for word. He lay comfortable his bottle rest on his chest and it cork sat on the ground long forgotten.

Reaching Captain status though an honour, Ri had found the lack of missions some what annoying all this ability and no one to share it with. He heaved a sigh as a hellbutter fly flew onto his forehead and conveyed it's message.

Immediate action is required.

Ri didn't even stand up but shunpo'd from his laying position into the barracks where his squad was eat morning meal. At the sudden arrival of Ri the entire hall became instantly silent.

"Hollow are invading the 36th East District all able on me" Ri said then without another word Ri shunpo'd first out of the barracks then back to the roof to reclaim his bottle and cork. Ri sped towards district as a large number of his squad appeared behind him all struggling to keep up.

*Squad eleven mean Kaiyo will be about. Fun* Ri thought as he could heard the screams from the souls of the unfortunate district. He quickened his pace, gripped his Zanpakuto and his eyes changed to a hazy blue colour. Ready to fight.

Kaiyo's eyes sparkled with excitement as she shuffled forwards, moving back her spoon to to take a good scoop of her ice cream sundae. The Captain pulled back the mountain of mulit-coloured ice cream and toppings. Then she froze. Startled by the hell butterfly that had appeared on her shoulder.

The girl snarled in anger, considering if she had enough time to devour this feast before heading off. Kaiyo dropped the spoon, slamming her fist down on the table in annoyance as she flash stepped straight over to the main barracks. Pissed off enough of carry the commanding and authoritative voice as she yelled across the filed room, 'Hollows attacking, all on me!' she shouted. Her image blurring in an instant as she flash stepped over towards Rukongai. Kaiyo could already feel the monsters reiatu's pulsing in the distance, though still annoyed she didn't even get to taste the treat that had taken her just over an hour to make perfect. It would probably all be melted by the time she was back as well...These hollows weren't going to be let off easily.

The girl's haori fluttered along behind her. The brute force of the 11th squad following their leader, already riled up for a good fight. If Ri's squad was being called in for the direct combat as well,, then it was just all the more fun. Kaiyo had only recently left the 12th squad, Kazu was being escorted back to the real world last time she'd heard.

Tatsuya sat under a tree in the 2nd squad garden enjoying a serene view. He had been discharged from the 4th squad healing center only a few hours ago. After all his injuries healed from the incident at the Shihoin estate, he thought it best to have a day to himself on the outside. Tatsuya leaned against the tree comfortably when he overheard other 2nd squad members.

"Did you here what's going on in the 38th Eastern District? Apparently an army of hollows appeared there and are attacking souls." One member stated to the other. Tatsuya couldn't help, but enter into the conversation. "So what are our orders?" Tatsuya asked. "2nd squad is currently on standby. The 11th and 13th squads are to engage the hollows, while the 1st, 4th, and 7th squads are on containment detail." The member stated. Even though Tatsuya had just recovered from his injuries he couldn't help, but get excited at the chance to fight off an army of hollows. "Well that's just great. I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna head over to where the action is." Tatsuya stated as he got up from under the tree and began to run towards the 38th Eastern District. "Wait! We haven't received the orders to engage." The member shouted, but the statement was completely ignored by Tatsuya.

The walk to the gate was long to begin with, and to make matters worse, kaz's escort wasn't exactly in a hurry to do anything really. The young shinigami never even looked up from his book when he was told to escort kaz to the gate back to the real world. He was getting bored, it didn't help that he wanted to explore soul society more. Kaz stopped suddenly, his senses alerting his to a massive hollow presence. "Hey man...theres hollows that way." Kaz said, breaking a near hour of walking in silence. The shinigami just shrugged in reply. "Are you going to do something about it? I mean isn't it your job to fight those things?...Hey are you listining to me?" Kaz asked the shinigami. "Why should i care? Its just in Rukongai, not any place important. Anyone out there deserves to die" was the shinigami's reply. The statement made Kaz's blood boil, and his reactions just took over. He spun on his left heel, swinging his right heel down and across the shinigami's head. The shinigami fell to the ground almost instantly. But, Kazu didn't even wait, he was already sprinting in the direction of the hollows.

Mordred had sensed that there were people coming, it didn't think it would be citizens. If so it would be stupid citizens or very brave citizens, it had expected it was shinigami that were racing to their location. Mordred's sensing abilities were superb so that it knew that they were coming. Mordred would not make this easy for the shinigami, things would be more difficult then this. Mordred had crushed nearby houses instead of directly eating the souls of the fleeing people, the other Hollows had no idea what Mordred was doing. Even so they knew that it was doing this for a reason, so they were doing the same. They destroyed the homes of the people and covered the floor with the debris. Mordred had then stopped, doing so made the Hollows stop as well. The beast had taken one of his other hands and pointed to nearby people. The Hollows understood, whatever Mordred was planning it required that there was nobody there and so they chased every person there away and then finally when no one was around. Mordred had hit the floor, it was going to dig. As a hole had suddenly formed the hollows had followed as Mordred continued to dig. They knew why there was debris now, to cover up the hole. However they also covers it with a pile of dirt so even if the shinigami think of such a thing they'll think its just part of the destruction of this district. Mordred had originally planned to only devour shinigami but the citizens of this rukongai place had managed to somewhat help it deal with its eternal pain. There were many more districts and Mordred would not be stopped just now, the other Hollows liked what Mordred was planning. Killing all the citizens would cause no more shinigami sprouting up and that would mean less future shinigami. The sad part in all of this was, the more citizens they ate the more Hollows there would be. A Hollow was born out of a soul being eaten by another Hollow, they were gonna use the same people that the shinigami said they would protect against them.

They're next stop would be somewhere away from the swarms of shinigami coming to this part of the eastern district. In fact they would travel to the south instead. They were heading for the 56th Southern District. Then Mordred had thought about it, would they be able to travel via portals freely now that they're in Soul Society? Mordred opened up a portal and walked through it and sure enough the beast was at a different district. Not sure if it was exactly where it wanted to be but nonetheless the beast was somewhere else. In actuality they were in the 12th Northern District of Rukongai. Hollows went through Mordred's portal as well, not knowing if they opened their own would they be send off to other places. However not all the Hollow had done so and went through their portals and groups of Hollows appeared in different parts of Rukongai. Some of which went straight back to the 36th Eastern District. Further away from the scene but still relatively nearby. Now back to Mordred, already they were causing havoc upon the Northern District of Rukongai. Three groups of ten Hollows were in the Eastern District, several groups were in the south and western as well. Some were even in the 1st Districts, however the main force was in Northern Rukongai.

Ri reached the eastern district, it was in ruins. He stood high above what was left of the town. His hand gripped his Zanpakuto till blood seeped from his halm. The rest of his squad arrived shortly behind him and he could easily feel Kaiyo approaching quickly


"Hollows detected in 36th Eastern District, 23th Northern District of Rukongai. More detected in south and western as well. The bulk of them are in the Eastern district" The voice in Ri ear screamed this at him. Ri wonder why she was scare last he check operators were safe in the R&D building.

"Squad thirteen engage the holllows here, Squad one head south , squad sevel you have western. Squad four divide and send team to all areas we'll be in need of healers. Kaiyo that leaves you with the Northern district" Ri said speaking as he pressed a finger into his ear.

Kaiyo skidded to a halt mid-air when she heard Ri's voice rattling her ear, the operator had seemed a bit on edge as well, so Kaiyo had just zoned her voice out. The short Captain smirked, holding her right arm high in the air as she stood motionless in the air for a second. Pressing her left hand against her ear as she replied, 'Heh, that better be where the main bulk are... 11th squad will be there in a sec' The girl moved her left hand back down to her side as she twisted around. Dropping her right arm as the rest of her squad appeared behind her, 'Change of plan guys, Northern District, ASAP!' she ordered. Not waiting for their leader, the squad changed course, flash stepping back away as Kaiyo took a moment to shut her eyes. She could already sense it, she didn't know how, but these hollows were popping up just about everywhere. Their spiritual energy was flashing from location to location; that wasn't normal.

The girl moved her hand back up to her ear, 'You've probably noticed as well, but these buggers are flipping around all over Rukongai...Anyone know how?'. Kaiyo glanced back over her shoulder, scrunching her face up in anger as the still screaming citizens escaped the ruined homes and shops. First the ice cream sundae then this...The Captain didn't waste her time, pushing her reiatsu to her feet, she flash stepped back towards the north. Anger was bad in combat, but how the hell these hollows got here, and how they'd already caused so much damage was just beyond her. The girl held her Zanpakuto hilt with her left hand as she moved. Just seconds away from the Northern district.

Because Tatsuya could not use shunpo, it took him a while to get to just the 1st Eastern District. When he arrived there were already hollows in the area being engaged by shinigami. Tatsuya began running through the area looking for his own hollow to fight. As he ran through the streets of Rukongai, he was almost stampeded by frightened souls running in the opposite direction. He quickly jumped onto a nearby roof. "Guess I must be close to one," he moved along the rooftops as silently as possible towards the direction the souls were coming from.

He quickly located not one but two hollows on the ground. "Hado no 4 - Byakurai" He shouted as he jumped into the air while pointing at one hollow, sending a white bolt of lightning through it, killing it instantly. The second hollow looked up in the direction the bolt came from only to see Tatsuya coming down with a vertical slash from his zanpaktou, cutting it in half. "Well that was easy." he commented while looking around the area. He quickly found three injured shinigami on the ground, unconscious, but alive. He searched for a communicator on the unconscious shinigami and was able to find one that had some blood on it.

"This is Tatsuya Okibi of 2nd squad. I am in the 1st Eastern District, Area 1-6, with 3 injured shinigami. Requesting immediate medical attention. I repeat. Requesting immediate, OH NO!!!" Tatsuya was interrupted when he was quickly surrounded by eight hollows. He dropped the communicator, unaware that it was still transmitting. Tatsuya looked at the hollows who then let out a collective howl. "Burn of the blades that have been lost. Hado no 8 - Blade of Flames" He shouted forming a fire blade in his left hand while his zanpaktou was in his right. Tatsuya let out a war cry as he charged at the hollow behind him. Once he charged at the hollow, the others began to charge towards him, inadvertently crushing the communicator.

*static* *static*

Kazu looked like a glowing blue streak weaving its way through the streets. His Jimmu activated on its own when he knocked the shinigami out. He was making his way east, that being the first direction he sensed the hollows. He was moving fast, fast enough that most didn't know what had just gone by them. The road ahead of him turned left then sharply back to the right. As he rounded the corner he saw the shinigami chagring eight hollows. Kazu didn't know if the shinigami could handle himself or not. And he didn't care. Using his speed and momentum as a weapon, he leaped into the air, kicking and smashing two hollows to the ground, their masks shattering on impact. He landed to with his back to the shinigami's back. "Don't worry I'm here to help." He said loudly over his shoulder. The hollow to his front thrust is clawed hand towards him, but kazu grabbed the hollows wrist in mid-attack, counter attacking with an energized kick to the hollows chest.

The main force in the Northern District of Rukongai was pillaging the place, spirits having their souls devoured and then turned into Hollows. They were making they're way down towards Sereitei. Small groups of shinigami were being sent out to their location, all of them were wiped out as the Hollows forces overpowered the groups of shinigami. Mordred was loving this, the feeling of complete dominance flared and the steady absorption of souls; the ultimate feeling for the beast known as Mordred. Mordred however had sensed a large group heading to their location. One of the people in the group's Reaitsu was great. A Captain of Sereitei was coming. They were gonna do the same thing like before, dig and hide. Except this time, they will not run. Instead they'll surprise attack this group of shinigami and hopefully they'll win. No they will win. The group was small as to compared to the group of Hollows and they'll be able to overpower the shinigami. Though Mordred wasn't sure about the Captain there. Whatever the case was, time to dig. Mordred was digging faster then its usual digging pace, trying to hurry it up. There wasn't that much time before the shinigami would come and find them and then attack, they will have the upper hand and not them. Mordred went to work, although most of its digging composed of only of moving its hand and letting its corrosive sweat do the work. In any case Mordred made a hole and then which the Hollows had jumped in and covered the entrance with nearby debris and as well as more ground.

It was complete, however some Hollows had remained above the ground to serve as a distraction while the main forces waited to strike the first blow from underneath. The Hollows avoided touching Mordred as its corrosive sweat would hurt them and there wasn't that much space and so many hollows... however they've managed not to touch Mordred and so they've waited. The group of shinigami that were coming were getting closer and closer, in several minutes they would arrive and then it would be time. Once that the shinigami from above would engage in combat with the distractions they would jump and they would attack.

Ri smiled as he slide his Zanpakuto out, rage was pulsing through his vains but he couldn't let that dictate his actions. That would be a devastating mistake. Leading the charge of Squad thirteen Ri was the first to attack.

He kicked on his reiatsu foothold and cut clean through a hollows face, the bulk of his squad diverged off to get the injured civilians away that way the squad could fight without much constant but even at that with houses around him Ri wouldn't be able to use his Bankai but then again for your garden variate hollows he'd never need it.

Ri was using the opportunity to practice his flash step, he was barely visible to most of the hollows and the only way to follow all his movement was to watch the hollows being decapitated.

Ri counted twelve hollows dead when he finally stopped and stood beside the rest of his squad, who'd been fight just as hard. Ri could see seven hollows and sense eight more, it'd be over soon.

"I'm going to help Squad evelen with the main bulk, finish here then help squad four" Ri ordered as he released more of his pressure and flash stepped. He went straight through the hollows line killing two as he returned his Zanpakuto to its sheath

As he moved off, he could hear his squad fight on, a smile shone on his face. He'd been worried that his squad might see him differently now he was a Captain but that was a worry he could lay to rest.

Kaiyo appeared ahead of her squad, her eyes taking in the mass destruction caused. Though for the amount of damage around, there was no way near enough hollows. 'Attack! Formations of Three, stick together!' she shouted, her squad rushing into combat quickly. Flash stepping in groups around each hollow, an efficient combat method. Kaiyo remained motionless in the sky, she could sense more hollows, the buggers must've been hiding. The Captain unsheathed her Zanpakuto, gripping it tightly in anger as she heard another cry from behind her. Kaiyo twisted around quickly, 'Raikou Mato!' she shouted, a solid bolt of lightning shooting from her sword and flashing through five hollows like paper. The roaring fading as they crumbled into nothing more than air. Kaiyo flash stepped down to the original scream, picking up two small children as she vanished, missing a fired cero from behind. Kaiyo dropped the kids on the out-skirts of Rukongai. Letting her reiatsu surge out her body as she removed the cap on her spiritual energy. The Captain appeared back in battle in seconds. Ri was headed this way.

The girl swung her right arm outwards, slashing easily through the mask of another hollow. Then they appeared, the mass of hollows that had been hiding appeared. Almost instantly, squad members were injured. Kaiyo stood motionless for a moment, her high reiatsu attracted the monsters towards her, simply because to them, her soul would be damn tasty. The girl pressed against her earth. '4th squad members needed for medical support in Nothern Rukongai'. With that Kaiyo moved both hands onto her Zanpakuto, pulling the blade closer to her body as she looked down at the battle below. How the hell this many hollows had been organised to attack was beyond her, and she had more pressing matters to deal with at this moment in time anyway. Kaiyo threw her arms forwards, 'Denkou Kabe!' she shouted, a thunderous roar followed instantly as a solid wall of lightning burst upwards to her feet from the ground. Shooting forwards into the fight. Kaiyo's aim had been pretty good. The solid stream of burning lightning disintegrated practically everything it touched. Even the rubble below the fights was gone, leaving nothing but scorched earth, and no remnants of the 20-ish hollows that had been unfortunate enough to be in the way of it.

So far, Kaiyo wasn't in direct combat, but she was higher in skill than any of the hollows around, so taking them out quicker was more effective for her. There was just so many of them, and they weren't all in the Northern District either. Kaiyo had heard Tatsu over the communicator as well, so far it seemed okay though. His reiatsu was still there, so great panic wasn't needed, Kaiyo still wanted to help though.

Tatsuya and the hollows quickly stopped their charge when a man sent two hollows slamming to the ground. Tatsuya didn't turn when the man landed behind him. "Well that's good to hear," Tatsuya commented at the man's statement before attacking the the nearest hollow with his zanpaktou and kido blade. Tatsuya cut through the limb of the attacking hollow with his zanpaktou and then slashed through its masked with his blade of flames. He turned to face another charging hollow and proceeded to slash right through it cutting it perfectly in half.

"HEY YOU," Tatsuya yelled at the man who came to help, who was currently engaging his own hollows. "WHEN WE GET OUT OF THIS...." Tatsuya got inturrupted by an attacking spider-like hollow. He quickly dodged and sliced of all of its limbs off its right side with one slash from his long zanpaktou. He followed up by quickly jumping in front of it and jabbing his kido blade through its masked. "LUNCH IS ON ME." Tatsuya finished his statement with a smile looking in the man's direction. His smile quickly faded when another group of 10 hollows appeared.

Kazu didn't look at the shinigami as he spoke. His senses told him more hollows were on the way, and he was moving to intercept them. Kazu charged the new group of hollows, catching the front one with a shoulder-block, stopping it dead in its tracks. His energy armor dimmed for a second except for his free hand, which got brighter. He punched the hollow in its mask, the sheer force of the blow sent it flying back into two other hollow. "I GOT A BETTER IDEA..." He yelled, pausing for a breif second as the hollow's mask he just punched burst outward. Before he could speak again on of the more human shaped hollows reached in to grab Kazu from behind, only to get grabbed itself, and slammed into the ground mask first. "RIGHT NOW THE SCORES EVEN, LOSER BUYS LUNCH." He yelled over his shoulder to the shinigami, then turning back toward the remaining hollows. He rushed another hollow, grabbing the back of its head and slamming his knee into the back of its head. "THATS SIX!!" He yelled with a smile.
