Yasu Tanaka: Shinigami Empty
PostSubject: Yasu Tanaka: Shinigami    Yasu Tanaka: Shinigami I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 23, 2020 12:43 pm

Shinigami Template

Name: Yasu Tanaka

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Race: Caucasian (White)

Birthplace: Rukongai

Occupation: Unemployed... Hunter. Thief.

Height: 5ft 4in

Weight: 135lbs

Appearance: Yasu has light green eyes, that could be betrayed as silver in the correct light. Her friends say she has a mile-long stare, though she doesn't much care what they think. Her grey hair is highlighted with every shade of the colour (probably more than 50 shades of grey). Her features are soft yet very striking, her lips are large and when she smiles (rarely) it can light up a room. Yasu doesn't spend a lot of time on her appearance and has a permanent style of 'I woke up like this'. The woman is built in an athletic frame, she has curves and defined muscles. Like a runner that has  recently switched to cross-fit. Yasu has a few scars across her body, from the few unavoidable scrapes she's been tangled in.
Spoiler:

Personality: Yasu is a friendly-enough opportunist with a slightly lacklustre work-ethic but a very stubborn streak so sometimes she'll work hard to prove a point. Yasu is a calm yet opinionated woman, she is hard to anger but has a fairly constant level of apathy. Yasu would describe herself as a realist, life has let her down repeatedly and she has learnt to prepare for the worst. Much like her hair colour, her moral compass is grey. Having grown up in the streets of Rukongai she has lived through necessity and does what is needed to survive. Though she believes in a fair fight, if it comes to that.  She worked as a hunter, thief and con-artist when she needed to. In many respects, Yasu sees herself as a jack of all trades.

Special Characteristics: Yasu grew up hunting, so she's particularly skilled with a bow. The woman is naturally lithe and possesses heightened senses, from her years of training. Though she's willing to trade that for a zanpakuto.

Stats:

Attack: 35
Speed: 50
Defense: 35

Sealed Zanpakuto:
70cm blade length. Circular green tsuba with 6 ovals cut out. Forest green saya and silver tsuka ito.

Spoiler:

History: Yasu grew up with nothing, she learnt quickly that people couldn't be trusted and that they all had their own agenda. Her death wasn't even a memory. The young woman's life had existed exclusively on the streets of Rukongai. It was a struggle, at first. Yasu had to mature faster and learn to look after herself. In fact, she had only ever relied on one other person, her best friend. They were an unlikely pair but they were a balance that she never knew she needed. Yasu took up hunting to feed herself but when she realised she had a natural affinity for the task, it became a lifeline for her. Those were her favourite hours of the day, the hunt. Though when game was not readily available, she lent her skills to other tasks. She'd been a fair-weather thief for as long as she could remember. When the opportunity arose or when her need was high enough, she saw no issue in taking what she needed. When you grow up as she did, you learn to fight and stand up for yourself, especially when you have bright silver hair. Yasu could fight, steal and hunt: that was all she thought she needed in life. In truth, along another path, she would have been correct.

Her friend was loyal and true and a bit of a boy scout and they had grown up together. For the longest time, he was her only constant in life. They were homeless when they met, two street kids begging and stealing to live. He had saved her from a bad situation and she had his back when he got in trouble with the locals. Yasu always knew he'd been destined for more and slowly, she'd come around to the idea too. She knew he'd apply to be a shinigami but it was her own experience that had really sealed the deal for her.

Yasu had never been one for 'justice', the term had been self-serving every time she'd heard someone use it. She enjoyed her own version of justice but she knew it was her opinion really. Yasu was off to her favourite hunting ground; an unperturbed forest that sat behind two shady districts. Wise villagers stayed clear of this part of town but if you can make it deep enough into the trees, it was pure bliss. It was there, two alleys before the entrance, that she'd seen a shinigami leading some gang members to burn down a shop. Apparently when they didn't pay their 'protection' that was what a member of the noble Gotei 13 did. Yasu had confronted the man, and his grubby friends, she'd even tried to save the family from getting hurt. She killed one the gang members and when the shinigami called in two more of his Gotei thugs, they'd nearly killed her. They probably thought she'd died in the fire. Yasu had been dragged out by one of her kinder customers, she'd always brought him her cleanest kills. Yasu didn't spend long licking her wounds. It was no surprise that people in the lower districts hated shinigami but now she had one in particular that she was determined to find.

Role Playing Sample:
Her head lolled over the back of the chair and she tugged at the ribbon that had kept her hair from her face. She exhaled slowly, ruffling the back of her neck as she freed her tousled locks. The man opposite didn't know what to make of the woman, as most people didn't. He opted for silence, which was how she liked it. Yasu enjoyed the momentary pauses in such interactions, they felt genuine. As discomfort and hope always did. He couldn't hold his excitement. 'So, did you?...'

She nodded, pulling her body forwards as her forearms lent over the table. Her hand swung down to ankle and dropped the dead hog onto the table with a heavy thud. 'As promised. Food for a feast.' She cocked her head to the side, observing the man's bright eyes as he stretched out towards the swine. These kind of animals really were difficult to find but she knew a mean farmer who wouldn't notice a missing pig and it meant and easy day of work for her. Her hand landed on his before he could drag the carcass towards himself, her speed had alarmed him. She understood the level of panic he'd feel, particularly in their neighbourhood. Yasu didn't want to cheat the man, just get her dues. 'Payment first...' her cool voice seemed to ease her customer back into their transaction and she slowly released him and sat back down, 'If you don't mind'. Her eyes were lazily taking in the room as he tried to conspicuously pass her a small bag of gold.  'Oh, yes, sorry, of course' Her friend should be here by now, it wasn't like him to be late. She flipped the bag back into her possession and gave it a quick count. Nodding at her patron for him to start lugging off his goods. 'Thanks' she called to the man, swinging her feet onto the table as he left.

Yasu slid down in her chair, closing her eyes for a moment. These kind of dealings made life feel right. They were simple, clear cut and they made her feel like a saint. The man received a fair price for his pig and she felt a robin hood sense of justice was restored to the world. Her friend was about to shift that world, she knew it. He knew she'd follow him. That's the kind of friend she was and he was the only one she'd ever been able to rely on so he'd earned her loyalty. He was made to be a shinigami and she could probably learn. At the very least, it would make a steadier income.
