"A few thousand years ago history proceeded as normal. The Quincy had given birth to their own abilities, and such the Bount were also born due to the mistakes of the Shinigami. The Shinigami continued on their normal path through history cleansing spirits and defeating Hollows. Albeit, during this time there were also murders and wars. The Shinigami even banished some of their own which acquired Hollow powers.

All things were assumed normal. The Bount had been killed off and so also the Quincy. An uprising was never predicted nor was it anticipated that the two Factions would join forces for a single purpose. The destruction of the Shinigami.

The Soul Society War as many deemed it was a vicious onslaught which lasted weeks. The war took place 2 years prior to Episode 1 of the Manga/Anime (Current history). Memories of the war are still fresh to this that participated in it or were effected by it.

Seireitei had to restructure during these 2 years opening up the Divisions for fresh faces, some Divisions were however temporarily deactivated as the numbers are brought up.

Duties continued as normal, with the exception that it was knowledge that there were Quincy and Bount about doing their own deeds since the war.

A recent event in the Human World put a twist on the duties of the Shinigami and other Factions. A series of Hollow attacks had been witnessed and intercepted, initially the source was unknown for these serpent-like Hollows. Upon further investigation a Hollow known only as Viper and is referred to as Master appeared claiming to be the leader of these attacks. Among these sightings several other odd occurances and events leaves the current state of affairs in a fragile condition."
