The difference between Hollow and Hollow

’How embarassing..’ Nius thought to himself as he looked at the eight hollows who had surrounded him. As he looked them over, he noticed something very distinct. They were fresh hollows, new to this, inexperienced and most likely overly pride of their new strength as a hollow. He was going to abuse this, to try and get out of his predicament.

”How pitiful… Eight hollows to bring down one?” Nius peered over their reactions, seeing anger and injured pride clearly in their red eyes. A thin fox hollow replied to him. ”Atleast we’re not the ones surrounded and about to be eaten, eh?” Nius nodded slightly, but looked intently at the fox. ”True.. But I can use your numbers to my advantage, if I focus on one of you at a time, and eat you quickly, I can probably take out maybe five of you.. Really want to risk that one of them be you?”

He looked at them, and sent out a quick pulse of reiatsu around, looking at many of them flinching slightly. ”Why not instead use your power and eat those others around you, become more powerful then me. Surely you can beat these weaklings.” When saying these words he looked around at all off them, playing to their pride.

A large bipdel tortoise hollow was the first to react with words. ”Far too true, lizard.. Why should I bother for a shot at an eighth of your power, when I can just take all of theirs aswell as yours!” Nius laughed inside, seeing the group start to look at their comrades with anger, fear and hunger. ”Exactly.. Why put your trust in foolish weaklings when you can simply take their strength and use it properly through yourself?”

”Stop!” The fox shouted out loud. ”We can’t let him divide us, he’s just saying this because he’s afraid because he knows he can’t take all of us!” Nius looked at him, surprised to find an intelligent one in the crowd, however this wouldn’t stop him. ”Then why the fear in your voice, afraid you won’t last against your partners?” That simple statement shattered all binds of allegiance between the hollows, as a rampant battle royale ensued between the mongrels.

Nius watched with interest as fool after fool fell, until in the end there was only three at a stand off, the fox and tortoise was still alive, aswell as something resembling a mantis. But as they were just starting to fight, it was time. The fox and tortoise’s expressions changed from battle ready to terrified as Nius quickly overwhelmed the mantis who was worn out and ill-adjusted to his power, eating him quickly and feeding on him.

”Surprised?” Nius laughed coldly. ”You weak stupid fools.. And I thought I was actually the same as your kind once.. But I am different!” His red eyes flared brightly at the other two. ”And now.. You die.” Nius sprang forward, first killing the tortoise with seven quick strikes, then looking on to the fox. ”You got close.. But you’re just as idiotic as the rest of them. I was considering letting you come along with me, but you were far too easy to manipulate. For that, you must die.” The fox didn’t even move and died quietly, to Nius’s displeasure. ’Perhaps I should have let them keep on until only one remained… Maybe I’d have had an interesting fight against me then..’ With a deep sigh, he continued his dull walk, hunting through Hueco Mundo.

OOC: Not my best work, but bah.. It was harder to come up with a good improving intelligence post then the other stats..

The pieces were in place, Nius’s trap was set and he was just about ready to set it in motion. He overlooked his staging area, a large city; most likely capital of some human land, but Nius couldn’t care less about human customs anymore. The advantage however was, that with such a large area there is a lot of souls, and thus it is more likely to be more than one of the shinigami around.

Nius mind went back to when he first created this plan, how he had met that group of three hollows in the Hueco Mundo desert. Although Nius’s will to do battle encouraged him to fight them, his more devious side held this back as a plan had formed in his mind. ”Why fight me, when we can work together to catch much sweeter prey? With my help, we can end this night feasting on the souls of Shinigami, and trust me on this; they have such a delicious taste.”

The hollows looked confused; they had not expected words, least of all ones of cooperation. However one of them eventually took initiative, speaking for the others aswell. ”How much effort would we have to put in?” Nius snickered slightly, observing the three before him, the leader looking like some sort of cross of a gorilla and a hawk, having a beaked mask combined with the brutish body of the primate, then the second was a wolf, walking on all fours as a regular predator, and the last one was a manta-ray, though being a hollow made him capable of flying even though the actual animal is not.

After finishing his observation, Nius finally spoke again. ”It simply involves you taking off on three different hunts in the same human city, and hunt souls until you encounter shinigami… When you do, I will join you in the fight, help you kill it, then let you eat while I go off to help the next one.” Nius tilted his head in observation as he awaited their reply. ”And what’s in it for you?” Nius laughed a little again. [/color=darkred]”Apart from a free hunting range in that city once you’ve cleared out the guards, and also getting away from having to fight you? Not much else.”[/color]

Getting back on his current situation, Nius was almost disappointed with how easily convinced they had been, but it didn’t really matter as he had got what he wanted.
All his new ‘partners’ were out hunting, sending out an unnecessary amount of spiritual energy to draw as much attention to themselves as possible, while Nius stayed under the radar as he kept them all under watch.

The first to come under attack was the manta, he had used his flying capability to round up several souls at once to hunt, as the battle between the hollow and the shinigami began, Nius went closer up, perched on a roof above the two fighters as he observed silently. The shinigami had the upper hand; that much was obvious, using some sort of spell to rid the hollow of his flying advantage. Nius waited however, watching them tire each other out, and then he moved.

Nius reveled in the look of surprise as his hand pierced through the chest of the shinigami, then taking a large chunk out of his shoulder to finish him off. ”There, eat. “ Nius dropped the corpse on the ground but as the manta was just about to eat him, his mask was in the clawed grip of Nius, pushing until the mask shattered and then pulling him towards him and eating up his spiritual energy, then consuming the shinigami’s remains. ’One down..’

Leaping back up on the rooftops, Nius sensed the area and felt that another one had found a fight, and had almost lost already, and he immediately sprinted off in that direction. Nius landed with a loud crack on the shinigami just before he was about to land the finishing blow, piercing him with talons, claws and fangs, killing him almost directly as he had already been weakened.

Nius looked to the wreck of the wolf that was lying there, probably saying something about good timing, Nius wasn’t truly listening. He devoured the dead shinigami and then finished off the wolf aswell; he was incapable of resisting and was eaten silently. It had taken a while, as he had been so on edge, but now Nius could feel all the energy he had devoured soar into him, roaring in satisfaction as the power rushed through him.

As the sensation settled, Nius returned to sensing his surroundings, to his surprise, he could feel the leader of his partner group being still, and if he wasn’t mistaken, he was getting stronger; Nius rushed off to find out. When he arrived, he saw the hawk-gorilla finishing eating the last piece of a shinigami, and Nius found himself surprised. ”Killed my allies, eh… And now you’ve come to finish me off… You’re one cunning piece of work. Though you weren’t lying, I atleast got to have a real good meal before I go on.” Nius laughed, so he had abandoned himself to his fate, his wish for battle once again spiked, but Nius’s lust for power had its way and it didn’t take long for the hollow left to become consumed.
