Ikazuchi Hayaku [Done I think...]

Personality: Ikazuchi is always looking for his next opponent. If it's someone strong then it doesn't matter to him even if he's completely outclassed. He has a tendency to act coldly towards those that he perceives as weak, but if you earn his respect then he is honest and friendly. He only makes friends with strong fighters because they have a better chance of survival, and he doesn't want to lose anyone else. He prefers to fight hand to hand rather than use a weapon because he thinks that fights should come down to pure physical ability, instead of gaining an advantage because of a zanpaktou. Because of this he refuses to wield his zanpakuto unless his or someone else's life is in danger. Has recently discovered that if he drinks until he passes out he can easily fill the time between fights. This does mean that he arrives late to most of them though...

Appearance:

Ikazuchi tends not to wear the typical shinigami garb if possible because he doesn't think that it stands out enough. To this end he always wears bright clothes to make him easily visible even to enemies. Has a scar on his chest from where he was stabbed as a child. He carries a chain around his neck which originally belonged to his father.


Sealed Zanpakutō :

While sealed his zanpakuto takes the form of a rusted Wakizashi blade. It originally had an ornate design, but changed after Ikazuchi refused to use it. It's sheath still remains unchanged as a sign that he accepts Ikazuchi as worthy.

History/Background: Ikazuchi was born and raised in the Inuzuri district of the Rukongai. In contrast to later on his life, he was shy and weak during this time. His father was a high seat in the 11th division and so spent much of his time in the Seireitei and while he was gone Ikazuchi would hang out with his friends, or try to steal some water to survive. It was hard, but he was happy.

Then one day a powerful hollow appeared and attacked Raioku. His father tried to fight it in order to protect Ikazuchi, but the hollow was too powerful and his father was mortally wounded. At the sight of his father in danger, Ikazuchi's hidden power began to show itself. Sensing his great power, the hollow took control of Ikazuchi's body and forced him to kill all of his friends and family. But Ikazuchi could not even bring himself to kill his father and managed to regain control for a short time, during which his father used his remaining strength to stab Ikazuchi with his zanpakuto, giving him some of his power which was enough to break the hollow's control and Ikazuchi passed out from the strain. This used up his father's remaining strength however, and he died shortly after. The hollow attempted to finish Ikazuchi so that his power couldn't be used against him, but the captain of squad 11 arrived. He failed to finish the hollow, but he managed to drive it away.

After this, Ikazuchi joined the Academy to try and learn to control his power so that something like that would not happen again. It took 6 years to graduate as while he excelled in Hakudo and Hoho, he had little to no talent for Kido and refused to use Zanjutsu unless he had to. Nonetheless, he eventually graduated and was assigned to squad 11.

Rp sample: Ikazuchi walked into the 11th division headquarters. He'd just been assigned to the squad and apparently he was supposed to report in to meet his captain. "Man I'm bored. I thought this was supposed to be the strongest squad. All I've seen so far are small fry" he said to himself. "Well, the captain's supposed to be strong at least. Wouldn't mind a match after we're finished here."

He opened the door and was about to introduce himself when he saw that the captain was asleep in his seat. "Unbelievable" he thought, "he probably does nothing but sleep all day..."
He stood for a moment wondering if he should wake the captain or not. "Screw it, maybe there's something to do in town. If I'm lucky there'll be someone to fight. But from what I've seen...". With that, he turned and headed out into the Seireitei.

[Note: The RP sample is taken basically word for word from the last character I had on an RP board but with names swapped, so...yeah...]

I'm going to approve you but I'd like you to know that on this board you must achieve a speed of 20 in order to use Shunpo (Flash Step). I'd assume the same for Hoho, though I could possibly be wrong. Since Hoho is manipulation of spiritual pressure under one's feet you may need some different skill. I'll have another mod poke his/her head in here to either correct me or to agree with me...
