Personality: Quiet, shy, and rather timid, Mato would rather keep to himself, then really speak to anyone. He has an obsession with cleanliness, and if insulted, has a rather whiny, violent side, resulting in physical harm to whoever he felt was threatening.
Rather large tendencies to forgive with a price, than to even forgive at all. His belief system involves revenge as the only way to gain true justice.
Mato was madly addicted to coffee when he was human and because of that, he now suffers from insomnia.
Appearance:
Mato has the most piercing blue eyes you could imagine, but due an incident that happened when he was alive, his right eye was burned. He keeps a brown eye patch over it. His smooth, porcelain skin is damaged with a burn mark under his left eye. His crispy black hair that is slightly curled covers most of his neck, concealing a tattoo on the back of it (Tattoo 1). If you see his back, you'll see a upside down black cross tattoo on it (Tattoo 2). He has two gold, loop earrings on his left ear. Because of his insomnia, Mato is always seen with dark bags under his eyes. He wears the regular academy outfit. On his right arm is a glowing green snake going around the arm, but Mato always conceals it with a white ribbon (Tattoo 3). His torso is very well-built due to a lot of weight training. So now he can pick up stuff that are bigger than him. He is very fast on his feet, since he is small in height and weight.

Sealed Zanpakutō:
His sealed zanpakutō looks like this. But if you look very closely at blade it's all cringed on the side. Instead of black, the hilt is a crimson red. The hilt guard is in a shape of a upside down cross and in the color of a dark silver. The blade guard is the color of charcoal.
History/Background:Human LifeMato lived a very good life. He lived with his mother, father, his twin sister, and his two little brothers. He and his twin were always beautiful and smart, but also a little different. They to, could see ghosts, people souls. Throughout their school years, they were always the top students. One day after school, Mato had to stay after and told his sister to go on without him. While she was walking, she crossed the road and a drunken driver was coming right to her. The car collided with her and died on contact. Mato's family held a grand funeral for her. Everybody grieved for her, but it didn't last long. A week after the incident, everybody had on smiles and forgot about her. She got angry and let herself turn into a hollow. She went after her family and told herself that she will kill everybody that forgot about her. She attacked the family house on Mato's fourteenth Birthday. As she destroyed everything in her path. When she killed everybody, she found Mato. Covered in blood, burned in different places, shaking fiercely, and scared.
"Sis, i-is that you? If you're a-alive, come h-home!"Were the last words he said, he died. But as he died, His soul was brought out. His sister, still hovering over him, was getting ready to devour him. But out of the blue, a weird black figure flew by and kill his sister. Mato, being scared for his life, fainted into a deep sleep.
After DeathHe woke up later to be in a place he never seen be for. Mato had remembered the events, but his real name. It had seemed that he forgot his name and self. Then a the exact same black figure, who saved him from his sister, came over to him and helped him up.
"What are you? Do you know my name? What happen to my sister? Am I dead?"The black figure told him everything, but for some reason, never his name. Though he did say call him 'Tin-sensei' because of his tin hat. He's a shinigami, who reap hollows and help lost souls to a safer place. He told him that his sister turned into a hollow he talked about and had to reap her. He even told he's dead, but in a safe place and that he had helped his injuries. As much Mato wanted to know, he wanted to know his name. But the guy didn't know. So the guy had gave him a new name. Based on his looks, personality, and his actions. That's where he got the Mato Sai. 'Ma' meaning true and 'to' meaning person. The last name 'Sai' meaning repeated, because he is kind of repeated his life again. Mato being into what the guy said wanted to help other souls find a safe place and reap hollows before they killed everybody. The guy trained Mato and taught him everything he knew. When the guy said Mato was ready, he sent him to the academy, where mato awaits to become a shinigami.

Come on! Four more to go to beat your old record." Mato had sighed and started again. "
Fifty-seven...fifty-eight....fifty-nine....Sixty! Yeah, you did it..." he clapped a little and smiled,"
Now forty more to go." Mato turned his head to the figure and glared. "
What? What did I do?" The figure stared back at Mato. "
Nothing..." he said as he restarted doing the push-ups again.

, it's just a lot of people leave after I tell them they need to edit their character... Was just checking to see if you were one such person, glad to see you're actually still here! ^_^
