Personality: Kaino was never the "god-fearing" type, he lived his life in his own way, by his own rules. He never thought about what would happen after he died because it never bothered him. Even now, in the afterlife, he continues with this lifestyle. In addition to this however he is a very loyal friend and extremely kind. He is the kind of guy who will give the shirt of his back to any of his friend's. On the flip side of this, to anger him is to wake a beast within. He will relentlessly destroy any who hurt his friends or harm him in some way. Because of these two traits he becomes a sort of champion for those around him.

Sealed Zanpakutō : In its sealed form Kaino's Zanpakuto is a regular katana, with a normal hilt. The sheathe, however, is pure white, but otherwise normal.

History/Background:
Human Life
Kaino grew up a normal lifestyle. He did very well through all of his school years and got into a good college. He graduated college high in his class, but he never really wanted to try. So when he finally got out of school he just faded away, working many different jobs, trying to find the one that fit. But he never really managed to find something that kept his interest for very long. This lifestyle of his came to an abrupt and shocking end one night.

Kaino was returning from a bar with a girl he picked up when he happened to look down an alleyway and see a bunch of older men harassing a younger woman. Kaino immediately stopped walking and told the girl that he had met to leave, and he began to walk down the alley. Things like this really pissed him off, and right now , being slightly drunk, he jumped to protect the woman. As he walked down the alley the three men turned to face him and demanded that he leave, but he ignored them and walked right past them to the woman, whom he picked up in his arms and began to walk away with. The three men, who were completely wasted immediately took offense and attacked Kaino. Kaino, with no other choice, protected the woman with his body and was beaten to a pulp as she escaped. Little did he know that these were the last breaths he would take as a living human being.

His Death/Afterlife
When Kaino woke up he was floating meters in the air with a weird chain attached to his chest, and he was looking at his own body being beaten by the three thugs. He hung there, floating as the police found his lifeless body and carted it away in a plastic bag. He followed it as it was placed in a morgue as a "John Doe" and he began to regret his own life. Soon these feelings of regret changed into feelings of hatred, as he directed his anger towards others, and the chain on his chest began to rust and decay. This continued as Kaino spiraled down the path to becoming a hollow, however one thing kept him from descending into that pit, the woman he had saved. He had followed her and had seen her family, so when a weird being came and offered him heavenly peace, Kaino accepted, knowing that he had done at least one good thing on earth.

After being saved by what he later found out was a shinigami, Kaino set his goal to become that which had saved him. He would become a protector of the weak souls. This dream kept him alive in the slums of Soul Society and allowed him to awaken his powers and be accepted into the Soul Academy.

Kaino knew what he wanted as he walked arm in arm with the girl he picked up at the bar. There was only one thing he could want, but he had wooed this woman into believing he wanted more than just a night. He walked along, contemplating what he would do tomorrow as a voice caught his attention, it was a voice of a woman. She seemed to be very mad and as he looked down the nearby alley he saw the source of the voice. It was a woman who was being harassed by three older men. In that split second he made his choice, "Hey, go run home, you don't want to get involved with me," Kaino said to the woman at his arm, "All i said to you before was a lie." As he spoke she looked up at him and her face changed from happiness to anger as she stormed away down the street. After she had gone Kaino turned back to face the alley and began to walk down it.
"Hey fellas," He said as he got close to the three, lemme give this young woman here a hand." With that he reached down and picked up the woman who had at this point fallen on her back. And he began to walk away with the woman in his hands.
"Hey, what are you doing?" The drunk Hobo said as he walked towards Kaino.
"I am being a chivalrous young man ," Kaino said in reply as he continued to walk towards the street. However, before he got within ten feet of the street he felt a blunt force hit his head. He barely manged to fall on his knees and stay conscious. the last thing he did before the second blow hit him was push the woman away and see her successfully get away. After that the second blod hit and he heard a thud as his head hit the pavement.
