Appearance: Hana is a thin girl with fair white skin. Her chestnut brown hair hangs down at shoulder length. She has emerald green eyes and often adorns her hair with flowers and ribbons. She dresses as traditionally as possible, sticking to her expected dress code, though in her off time she will often wear a white and yellow dress with fabric hanging from the shoulders like wings.

Personality: Hana is a smiling bundle of energy that many would consider to be naïve. Extremely friendly and stubborn, she is the kind of girl who refuses to let the world get her down. She also has a habit towards excessive affection, which is often expressed through sudden hugs upon her arrival as a greeting to even loose acquaintances. Her style in battle betrays none of this however as her years of training with her family surface to reveal a spooky sight as she fights with grace and efficiency as a priority.

Special Characteristics: Martial Arts Prodigy: Having been adopted by the second squad captain, Kuro, from a young age. Hana has spent years learning and training with him in hand to hand combat. She has a good eye for the art and even learned Kuro's own invented school of martial arts with little instruction.

Sealed Zanpakto: Hana's sealed zanpakuto is a standard Japanese katana in design with a 70 cm length blade. Its handle's wrapping is hot pink and its guard is ovular in shape. Engraved into the surface of the guard at the base of the blade are indentures that paint the image of flower petals encircling the blade.

History: Hana was only about 3 years old when she arrived in the Soul Society. The family that took her in was poor and they lived in the slums of the Rukongai far away from the Seireitei. Life was hard, but they made it work for a time. Then things deteriorated when their village was besieged by a band of criminals headed by a criminal Shinigami. Many lost their lives as they tried to resist or flee, including Hana's family. The villagers all thought they would surely die until the coincidental arrival of Shinigami from the Gotei 13 ended the event, among whom was Kuro Akarui, the captain of the second division. Mesmerized from shock and the display of their rescuers, Hana approached the captain as the Shinigami were taking their leave and silently grabbed hold of his robe. Afterward she uttered only one word: flower, having been captivated by the appearance of Kuro's bankai ability as he saved them.

After hearing what had happened to Hana's family Kuro was kind enough to take her in as his own daughter. He brought her back to the Seireitei where she lived a happy childhood under the watch of him and his subordinates. She was quiet and withdrawn at first, not wanting to be seen as a bother and possibly abandoned. But the kindness of her new family eventually helped her emerge from her shell into the beaming girl she is to this day. She studied hard and sought to enroll in the Shin'o academy as soon as she was old enough with her end goal being to join the Gotei 13 like her father and make him proud.
