| Barely any time had passed before he feel the drained. He had practiced the technique many times in the training room, but this was different. Arawn could actually feel the tug as his spiritual energy was being repelled. Was the creature resisting? He had thought Huang Long's power had ensnared him completely. He didn't notice some of the creatures tendrils starting to twitch as it freed itself. The next thing he knew it had pulled itself away from Arawn complete. The now free tendrils were quick in assuming a defensive position around it's head. If Arawn tried to move in he'd get tangled in the mass of wiggling arms. Despite losing contact with the creature's body the large are remained extended. It would seem it hadn't completely dispelled the zanpukto's effect. Still the experience had left an impression on the hollow. It was reluctant to advance upon the shinigami. It had encountered soul reapers before, but perhaps it had forgotten what they were capable of. In this case that they held powers that rivaled his own. It was now sizing up the situation. Should it stay and fight or flee? A part of it didn't want to leave empty handed while another part saw no benefit in trying to fight things further. The answer was made for itself when it felt the presence of another shinigami. Arawn had made a request for help, but it had been late in arriving. Lucky for the hollow they point the reinforcements had appeared was some distance away. Staying was now completely out of the picture. It's arm lowered as the linger effect of the zanpukto faded even further.
"Goodbye, Duckies. We'll finish this another day." it said before it's tendrils carried it in the opposite direction away from where it had sensed the incoming shinigami. Arawn held his ground. He thought of chasing the creature, but didn't know if this was a trick to get him away from the hobo. The tattered man standing in the street. Arawn gave a small sigh. He had told the man to hide, and he goes out into the middle of the road? Shaking his head he reached for his phone. "Hollow escaped going north." He said "Requesting backup." Even as he spoke two shinigami appeared in the are next to him. Two young men of similar build. One had dark brown hair the other jet black. The length of said hair barely reaching past their ears. "We'll take it from here." one of them said before vanishing. The other stood there and examined Arawn. He had a bag on him identifying him as a member of the 4th squad. The man quickly examined the red haired man to see if he was in need of immediate aide. "You look okay." With that he vanished, chasing after the other man and the loose hollow. Arawn looked down at the hobo in the middle of the street. Once again he thought about erasing the man's memories, but felt it wouldn't do him any good. Perhaps if he remembered he would be more careful in the future. Thinking that he quickly shunpo as well following his phone's map in tracking down the creature once again. | |
