The door opened with a hiss. It was a large metallic doorway like one would find on a submarine. A large metal wheel had to be turned before the release lever worked. There was a rush of air coming from the opening. A dense fog came billowing out, Arawn turned away as the smoke engulfed them. Quickly the smoke sank to the floor and settle around their ankles. The light from the room was vastly brighter than the gloomy hallway they had been standing in. Arawn was the first to take a step forward into the well lit room. The world he stepped into was world of white. Instantly he was reminded of the time he'd spent in Hueco Mundo. It was like looking upon the sea of white sand, but it was the bleached walls he stared at. The floor itself was a dull metal gray. Thankfully the difference in color helped me comprehend the size of the room. If everything had been pure white it would have been very disorientating. At a guess he'd say the room a 300ft or more in length. As for how high, he wasn't entirely sure. Arawn craned his head backwards trying to figure how far up it went. He recalled the long elevator ride, but couldn't fathom the approximate height. Finally he gave up and turned to Bryce and his equally short friend Mik. The little gray man had told them he had something he wanted them to see. Truthfully it wasn't much to see, but the scale and scope of the white room was breathtaking.
"So what is this place?" Arawn asked. The room seemed to amplify his voice and made it echo throughout the chamber. Arawn's head jerked back and forth as his words bounced off the walls and floor.

"This was original supposed to be a testing chamber for the more dangerous experiments we do here." Mik stated Bryce was looking slowly closing the door behind them. "Some of the project we work on have less than favorable results. Advanced weapon testing was scheduled to go on here." The skinny dwarf's words were louder and similarly echoed as Arawn's voice had. "The project nearly completed, but then was abandoned. This room has been in disuse for quite awhile." This wasn't too surprising to Arawn. The 12th Division and the Research sections were built like mazes. More than likely it had be lost. People had more than likely forgotten about it due to the erratic way in which the scientist went through projects. He was impressed.
"I see." were the only words from Arawn's lips as he went back to figuring out the dimensions of the room. Bryce started to ask Mik a question and Arawn stopped listening. Finally unable to contain his curiosity any longer he let his reiatsu flow. He raised his hand and pointed above his head.

"Let the swallow chirp at its finest and emit its power. Had #3: Crimson Strike." His hand lit up and the red light shot forth. Up and up the energy traveled until it collided with the hidden ceiling many feet above his head. So far away he barely saw the flash of explosion. The sound carried around the chamber so loudly that Bryce and Mik jumped. Arawn's too worried about damaging the room if it was meant for weapons testing. It could probably withstand something much stronger. There was now a black mark where his energy had hit. How far had the shot traveled? It was hard to gauge, but he could only estimate a good hundred feet or more. The way the smoke from the explosion hugged the walls showed him that it wasn't a square room. His kido had hit straight above his head. His eyes lingered on the small spot on the roof. Mik and Bryce returned to their talking after Arawn's outburst. There had been something he was wanting to try. He took one look over his shoulder at two short men. Both were too rapt in conversation to notice him. He pulled out his phone. A rather new model that mirrored the new phones seen on earth. A touch screen unit that he still had some problem controlling. His fingers traced the unique symbol on the screen unlocking unit for use. Arawn's index finger tapped the book icon in the corner of the screen. Bryce had made a special application for him. The hunchback had digitized the kido spell book to his phone. At least half of it. Arawn was always forgetting things, so it seemed a novel idea to use the phone to give himself memos. He started to thumb his way though the pages on his screen. True he could just fly up and touch the ceiling, but where was the fun in that? His search stopped on something he thought would fit his needs. Multiple shots and a wide dispersal. "Gaki Rekkō" he muttered and went enlarged the screen to memorize the words. Already his reiryoku was rising in anticipation of his casting. The air vibrated as his focused his mind on the energy dancing around his body. "Divine spirits be silent. Weep Lord of Light, you kingdom in ruins. Collapse the world in your tears. Hado #51: Gaki Rekkō!" Arawn raised his hand over his head and pointed it straight up. In front of his out stretched hand a circle of green formed. It hung suspended in the air just inches from his palm. The disk of light rippled as the shiningami let the spiritual power flow. A moment later the burst of green light shot out from around the disk and shot up toward the ceiling. It was like fireworks going off from his hand. The green bolts of light slammed against the roof high above. More and more energy funneled into the spell and the shots emerged. Both Bryce and Mik were now watching as the attack hit. Arawn didn't notice they were watching him now. His eyes were locked upward as the kido struck the ceiling. With each explosion he got a better idea of the large white room. A large dome. He wondered how long it had taken to construct the huge room. More scuff mark on the ceiling and Arawn was satisfied. Bryce was walking up to him while Mik went to get the door.

"Having fun?" The short man asked him as he got close. A smile on the hunchback's face showed he was happy about something.
"Indeed." Arawn replied taking one last look at ring of black spots on the dome's center. "This place is pretty sturdy, but why did he show it to us?"
For a moment Bryce averted his gaze. The normally active tentacle arm went surprisingly stiff before shifting quickly back and forth.
"Bryce....." he felt like he had caught the family dog doing tinkle on the rug.
"Well you see I_Mik," he quicly added. "Wanted to you to take part in an experiment." Arawn crossed his arms over his chest and stared down as the shorter man. He was still avoiding Arawn's gaze.
"What kind of experiment?" Arawn asked still watching the hunchback.
"Mik has been researching zanpukto for years, and he thinks he's found a way to extract a spirit." Bryce said slowly, he finally looked up to meet the shinigami's eyes. Extracting a spirit? It seemed lunacy, but it made sense as all shinigami sought a method to pull forth their zanpukto's spirit into the material world. Bankai. The final stage of the soul reaper's weapon. Arawn would be lying to say he wasn't interested in such things. As much power as he'd witnessed of the dragon inside the inner realm, he could only imagine what power the fully established spirit could do. What kind of force could the golden beast unleash? At the same time what kind of fury might such a thing be met with? The dragon was always less that agreeable. Would forcefully drawing him out me a wise thing. Bryce was still speaking while Arawn was thinking it over. He was rambling, babbling even. Arawn paid it no mind as he considered the possibilities.
"I'll think about it." he simple said and Bryce stopped mid sentence and let his mind hang open. "but not today. I have some other things to do. I'll give you a yell later." Arawn said as he made for the door way. The hunchback merely stood there watching the man leave.
