Baseball Tryouts

I, being Ezrachek and MinKyung, will be inactive all week from 20-24th of February due to Baseball Tryouts taking place throughout the week. I need to focus on getting better, and primarily making the team. Wish me luck!

Haha well day 1 went really well... Decided I'm tryin out for outfielder. Day 2.... Fuckin sucked! 5 baseballs were left out in the batting cages last night and we had to run a mile for each ball... 5 miles... It sucked... My back started wiggin out again and almost brought me to my knees in pain. Pulled my groin muscle... Also hurts... but as far as the outfielders... There is probably 13 of the senior/juniors and in my opinion I'm probably 4th or 5th best... Which I hope lands me a spot in varsity

Sucks man. Hope you don't let the back knock you out of the running for a position. At the same time don't push yourself too hard. If you wreck yourself, it's pointless if you can't pay due to the injury.

Ironic thing is that I'd probably end up doing just that in trying out for a team. It's not in my personality to go easy in a physical event, whether its just training or a real match. That got me a lot of funny looks back in high school gym class when I'd be playing the different games like they were a state final.

Haha exactly! People in my old JROTC group used to say I played over zealously at dodgeball, when really I'm just constantly pushing my body to its limits... ALWAYS haha that's probably why I'm always injured... Hmm

So for those of you who are still following this little deal here. Before reading more of this know that I didn't make the team. Before i go on my rant, i wanted to post that so u dont have to read it if ya dont want to... I extremely dislike it when coaches base their opinions on their knowledge and familiarity of the person on a personal base rather than actual opinions on their skills and work ethic which are what tryouts are about... I'm probably the last person to be egotistical, but i KNOW i was atleast in the top 5 outfielders based on skill, and they took 6 for Varsity, however it's a new school to me, and im not that well known around here, which means that the coaches don't know my past experiences with sports or anything... It urks me just a little that i didn't make the team, but it doesn't matter, cuz there are other organizations that i can tryout for.

Dood that sucks. So in the end it comes down to who you know. I'd think that would be rather silly way of doing things. If you're more skilled than the person selected it doesn't make much sense to go that route. When it bites them in the ass they can complain and whine about their mistake.

Haha true... I think I was the only one to not drop a catch... Eh, oh well.
