The full moon cast a brilliant light over the now quiet town of Karakura, the dim blue light only allowing for slight visibility of the world. Anashi sat upon the roof of a tall building, on the very edge looking out towards the moon. This was unusual behaviour for the hollow as she rarely cared for anything other than hunting. But her previous hunts had wore her down, she decided to let her body naturally regenerate before attempting to hunt again. This was only her third day existing and she was still trying to ease into the situation. She knew how to move and act perfectly, she knew how to control her special properties, everything was already known, as if she was born with some sort of instinct.

She tried to shake off such thoughts, it wasn't good for her mind, she kept telling herself. The big questions were unanswerable, at least they were at the current time. Her thoughts faded until she was only concerned with the present. Her body had almost made a full recovery by this time, just a few shallow cuts in her armor remained. She couldn't help but feel uneasy, she had felt it for awhile now, but she could feel a muderous presence around her. This was conflicted with the fact that she couldn't sense any signs of a spiritual being in the surrounding area. She kept telling herself it was just herself over analyzing the situation, but still it presisted. She felt a wave of cold air hit her back, the nagging sensation of danger approaching, something was watching her.

She felt her hands tighten on the rim of the edge, her claws digging into the tough steel. She focused her mind on the presence, trying to detect it. She felt a little silly trying to detect something that wasn't there, she convinced herself it was for her own good and continued anyways. Even something faint was better than nothing, she kept focusing, hoping that she would find nothing. But then, she found something, it was a just a whisper of energy, but it definatly existed. And it was just a few dozen feet behind her. She came to her senses when she realized the startling truth. She whipped her head around to face the unknown individual, but before the hollow could do anything else the enemy was upon her, as if it could sense Anashi's emotions.

Spoiler:

Though she could only catch a brief glance, she was able to see the creature in it's true form. It was a hollow without doubt, it was large, larger than herself for sure. In comparison he was about the size of a stock car. The hollow was very lizard-like in that it sported a long scaley tail, it had a fearsome set of mandibles and a long black tounge. It had four powerful legs that had big sharp claws, there were spikes all along the ridge of the hollow. Anashi tried to dodge to the side but it was futile, the hollow had ambushed her, and because of it she didn't have much time to escape, it was shameful but true. The lizard hollow lunged forth from behind her, opening up it's large jaws in preperation of biting Anashi, though considering the size difference between the two a bite would mean consumption in a matter of seconds. Anashi didn't have much of a choice now, she decided that she had to avoid the enemies attack at all costs, if she was caught in it's grasp it would mean certain death.

She glanced down at the city below, it was a long fall, but she thought she could handle it. Anashi scooted herself off the edge and quickly dropped down. She looked to the windows of the building, it was mainly glass with the exception of the occasional steel bit. With a powerful motion she stabbed her left leg and left arm claws into the building, sparks flew everywhere as her claws grinded against the interior of the building. Velocity worked against her as she continued to drop, but gradually she began to slow untill she hit the ground relatively easily. She looked at her claws to see them smoking, it was to be expected when that level of prolonged friction is applied. She almost forgot the presence of the enemy, quickly realizing that he was most likely still pursuing her she looked up and looked for him. Nothing. She looked around for a place to retreat to, the enemy was big, much bigger than herself, that would help her look for a suitable battleground. She needed some place where he couldn't manuever, thats when she looked into the business building, the inside wasn't all that large, it was large enough to allow her lots of free space but limit the opponents.

Perfect.. She turned around lazily and walked to the entrance of the building, when she realized that it was locked shut she merely punched the door, sending it flying inside. She walked in, the inside was dark, darker than she was comfortable with. But at the moment it was better than nothing. Inside it resembled a small theatre in size, it was a reception floor so it was well decorated and big, but largely empty aside from the help desk in the far back and the occasional bench, table, or elevator. She walked inside and took a seat on the desk in the far back, keeping her eyes fixated at the front in case the enemy appeared. There was no other way to gain entrance to the building besides the front, at least for something as big as her enemy. Knowing this she knew that it couldn't ambush her again. The small hollow jumped abit when she heard a loud rustle coming from outside, she was now focusing much harder than before. The rustle grew louder and more furious as time passed, until a large portion of glass entrance shattered, Anashi jumped down from her seat, shocked by this turn of events. She couldn't see the cause of the destruction, she couldn't sense any presence either, she was dumbfounded.

There continued to be loud stomping noises that grew louder and louder, as if they were approaching towards Anashi. Naturally she felt the need to flee and compose herself, but she didn't know how to handle the relentless predator, she couldn't attack nor evade an enemy she couldn't see nor sense, it was useless. To her regret she began to back into a corner of the building, trying her best to formulate some sort of counter attack, some sort of strategy to see the creature. She soon felt her back hit the wall, the cold sensation of the marble wall startled the hollow aswell as gave it a strong sense of dread. She was out of time, she felt her body weaken as she realized how much trouble she was in. She looked forward, looking at what she thought to be the opponent, wondering if it was all going to end in such a pathetic way. The lizard hollow lunged at Anashi to her unknowing, assuring itself of victory. It opened it's large maw and tried to consume Anashi in one bite, but just before it could lodge it's mouth into the smaller hollow it's cover had been blown.

The lizard hollow had moved too quickly, and thus returned to it's visible form, this allowed Anashi time to react, if only with a split second. Anashi was startled at the sight of the monsterous beast infront of her, she dived to her left, narrowly avoiding the deadly bite of the bigger hollow. The lizard creatures head crashed into the marble wall, causing mayhem as some of the marble cracked or fell off. The creature soon recovered and turned it's head towards Anashi, who had already recovered from her dive. The small hollow looked back at the enemy, she was glad that the monsters invisibility had been voided, but she still wasn't sure if she could beat him. Before she could move the opposing hollow once again charged towards her with it's maw wide open. Anashi tried to back up, but once again hit a wall. She felt dread once again overtake her as she realized she couldn't evade now. She extended her arms in an attempt to grab the creatures jaw, she suceeded, but it didn't lessen the impact.

The plates of gray armor that covered her arms shattered completely, her claws chipped and broke under the force of the enemy. The monsters mouth snapped at Anashi in an atempt to consume her, she fought to keep the creatures maw shut as she tried to force the creatures jaws shut. She was pushed against the wall tightly, with nowhere to escape and no chance of overpowering the beast she concluded that she was on the brink of death. Still she fought, not wanting to give up even if there was no chance of survival. It was amazing how quickly her life was put into such danger, after six or so seconds of struggling the lizard hollow began to talk, it's speech distorted by it's constant struggle against Anashi. The creature yelled with fury, in bloodlust, as if it was a wild animal. A animalistic hollow was always much more frightening than any more intelligent hollow. They were also in some cases harder to fight because of their aggressiveness. However Anashi's concentration on fighting off the enemy was broken when it talked.

"Damnit, you're tougher than I thought! Just DIE already! Theres no way that you're gettin' outta' here ALIVE!"

Anashi felt her body shake under the monsters brute force. God damnit!! Anashi cursed at the grim situation, she felt her instincts take over in her struggle against the enemy, her body strained and her muscles tightened. She felt her mind go blank for a second as her body bursted with energy, she was going through a transformation. Her body was changing itself in order to win, to what exactly was still unknown, but the determined hollow was desperate, and anything that could help her was welcome. The lizards mouth grew closer and closer as her arms strained against the immense force. She felt her bodily chemistry change, it was unimaginably painful for the small hollow, and if it wasn't for her anatomy she would've fainted under the combination of stress and pain. Immediatly after she felt herself change her hands began to shoot out a warm black liquid, the velocity that it was being shot out was enough to make the enemy flinch, backing off to compose itself. Anashi stood back up, understandably she was disoriented, unsure of what had unfolded before her eyes. She brought her hands close to her face and looked at them, they looked normal. She couldn't feel much of a difference besides a distinctive feeling weakness, which was expected to a certain extent.

What was that black liquid, how did I shoot it out? Did my body change in order to survive? How is that even possible...

She looked back up at the lizard hollow, the blood had turned into a thick greenish muscle that clung to it's eyes, face, mouth, and ears relentlessly. The panicing hollow was frantically trying to pull the flesh from it's face, to no avail, all the while it was cursing and yelling like a wild animal. She deduced that it was linked to her 'Carne' ability. She bowled her hands into fists. She tightened her arms and suddenly her skin began to leak the putrid blood that flowed through her veins, to her surprise the blood didn't turn into the green flesh while it was on her skin. She looked up at her opponent, who at the moment was still trying to free itself from it's fleshy bonds. She suspected that the spiritual essence she had collected thus far allowed her to go through a partial transformation, she wasn't startled now, she felt confident that she could win with this new ability. She leaned forward and planted her hands firmly on the ground, and with new found strength she bursted forth towards the prey.

Once within reasonable range Anashi kicked the ground with her powerful back legs, causing herself to jump towards the enemy. She lodged her claws deeply into the creature, pulling herself ontop of the beast, all while the enemy flailed about, it's eyes still blinded by the green blight. She planted her left hand onto the creatures upper back and leaked a healthy amount of her blood, it seemed to let her hand stick to the target with ease. Despite the beasts attempts at shaking her off, the bloods vice like grip of her hand and the creatures back wouldn't budge. This gave Anashi time to cover most of the lizard with her black blood, only stopping when the monster had been completely soaked in the green flesh. Only now did she realize the amount of damage the damned hollow caused, it had taken out several walls and columns, the front was completely demolished aswell.

Anashi was starting to feel weak, which only added to her defiance of leaving before she could consume the hollow. The building was just about ready to fall, it was a horrible truth. Having expended this much energy, Anashi assumed that it would take at least several days of hunting to recover her losses. She jumped off the back of the lizard and retreated to a safe distance away from the building, all the while she heard the berserk hollow shout garbled messages of spite. She watched the building fall on her opponent, whether the thing died was still unconfirmed, but to Anashi, it was dead. Having escaped the encounter with a new ability and more importantly, her life, she left the area in search of a safe place to rest and heal her wounds.
