Normally the facilities at Zamoreus' complex provided the necessary stimulation for a proper workout, but today Tatsuya and Sumiko decided to take it outside. It was an hour past dawn and the sun would have been a welcomed sight, but it fought a losing battle trying to break through the dense cloud cover. A fresh layer of snow now covered the ground from the night before. Still, it was a beautiful landscape. Both Sumiko and Tatsuya dressed warmly for their workout; Tatsuya dressed in complete black, from beanie to boots. While Sumiko decided to go for a more colorful arrangement; dressed in a pink beanie and jacket, and blue gloves and sweat pants.
After a quick warm up they began their trek through the snow. It was a good long run over to Central Park. Once they got there, they slowed to a brisk walk while enjoying the different scenery. When before the trees would be filled with countless leaves, now only the skeletal remains of branches and twigs were left behind. Tatsuya and Sumiko stopped in the middle of the park. Since Sumiko wasn't much of a fighter, she could get by her physical conditioning with a simple run. But for Tatsuya, he needed a more strenuous workout. And Sumiko was happy enough just to watch. Tatsuya went through a basic workout with whatever nature provided. He used a small boulder for a weight, for much of his workout. When used properly, even he could feel "the burn" in his exercises. He walked underneath a thick tree limb a couple of feet above him and jumped up, taking hold. Tatsuya alternated between a standard pull up and a behind the neck pull up.
Just as he was finishing his set, the limb snapped without warning. All that escaped from his mouth was a yelp before he fell face first into the snow beneath him.
"Are you okay?" Sumiko called out between laughs of amusement. Tatsuya took his time getting to his feet and let out sarcastic laugh, his front side was covered in snow. Sumiko only smiled and stifled her laugh. Tatsuya wiped off as much as he could when a snowball hit his chest. Tatsuya looked up at Sumiko who only stared at him with an innocent smile and her hands behind her back.
"Uh uh, I know your not that innocent." He smiled and reached down to pick up some snow. Another snowball hit him on the head.
"Oh, it's on now." Tatsuya only looked up after the snowball hit, and scooped up some snow.
"Nope, I'm unarmed." Sumiko kept smiling and waved her hands frantically.
"Too late, you started it." He devilishly grinned causing Sumiko to playfully scream out and dart off to her left. She made it behind a tree just as Tatsuya threw the snowball, missing her. Sumiko looked out from behind the tree and stuck out her tongue at Tatsuya.
"You think you are cute, huh? Well don't get to comfortable behind there" Tatsuya laughed before reaching down and scooping up more snow.
Tatsuya was hit with two more snowballs, one after another, as he was making his own. He looked up to see Sumiko tossing up a snowball, with a smile on her face. While Tatsuya was working out, she took the time to ready some "ammo" behind the tree she took cover at.
"You little sneak." Tatsuya stated with a smirk across his face.
"I try. Think fast." She threw her snowball at Tatsuya. Tatsuya jumped out of the way and threw his own hitting the tree. They spent the next few moments tossing around snowballs, Tatsuya getting hit more often then Sumiko. Sumiko stepped out into the open.
"I give up." She raised her hands in the air.
"Oh no you don't" Tatsuya began to run towards her. Sumiko began to run away from him, but he caught up easily, grabbing her from behind and lifting her into the air. She playfully kicked and clawed at the air, not trying to hard to get away. Tatsuya fell back with Sumiko in his arms, causing her to yelp in surprise as she fell against Tatsuya. She turned over on top of Tatsuya, still laughing, and brushed away the hair that was in her face. Both were silent as they looked into each others eyes, when Sumiko brushed her lips over Tatsuya's. Tatsuya closed his eyes as he returned her kiss, forgetting everything that tormented him. She always had the gift of letting him forget his troubles.
