Hello, It's nice to meet you all.

I'm Alexander, though my board name is 'Follow the Morrigan'.

To begin with, I'm Canadian and tend to overthink things. I was interested in joining a Bleach site to try Roleplaying at, and spent a week looking at different Bleach Forums to do this. After looking at everything, I chose you guys, because you fit three things that I was hoping to find; you're still active, you've got detailed story, and you can create a character from scratch to play as.

Somehow, in the few days of creeping about this board, I managed to miss this introductory part of the board. I kind of got really into the character creation process, and reading up on some of the very interesting characters that are here.

So, once again, it's nice to meet you all.

I do have previous Roleplaying experience (I was part of a community on some dot HACK sites before they went and dried up, and I enjoyed what little LARPing I could do when I could still afford it), but my largest downfall is my tendency to overthink things and get too caught up with myself. Another problem I seem to have is with internet connections; sometimes I'm on every day of the week, and other times, I'm gone for months at a time, only to reappear afterwards and be on for days at a time. It all tends to do with what my daily life demands of me, and how I approach and complete those things. It also depends on the weather, and the demands on our local service provider.

On a last note, my name has no referrence to any video game or anime/manga characters, in the event that anyone happens to be wondering.

Nice to have you on our site. There's no "problem" about your activity level. Real life and its demands taking your time is completely understandable. It happens to everyone sooner or later. Very Happy Just have a fun experience with the time that you are able to be on. If you need any help with anything, just ask one of the staff members.

Thank you, I do have some questions, but mostly, they pertain to one of the character designs I've been working on (Doppelganger Hollow to be exact.)

I'm also unsure as to whether or I'd keep him. I ended up with lots of free time and no internet yesterday, and spent the day designing another three different characters, (A mother-son Superhuman set, and a Soul Reaper). It's a tough decision between the Hollow or the Soul Reaper.

I have yet to read up on your multiple character protocols, but have seen that you will allow us to create NPCs (which would be great in the event that I simply donate or give them to the board).

Ello there. Since I'm a mod and semi-awake I guess I can field you questions.

You can have multiple characters, but only 1 character per account. So you can use the other ideas provided you create a new account for each one. The limit to said accounts is to be 3, but some have breached that number in the past (stares at the guilty party.)

Perhaps I'll ask another question which came to me of late. I've got no time to hunt around the board just yet to get an exact answer to it, and this post may not even get through if my provider shuts down.

My question is thus: what is the technological level available to us at this time?

I've noted that there is an AI Hollow, and the thing I'm wondering about is not if we can play robot Shinigami and Superhumans, but to ask if it is plausible for a Soul Reaper to use an I-Pod, Compact Disc Player or other musical device? And could 12th division devise a battery that ran on the bearer's Spiritual Energies alone?

Just some ideas that seemed to be buzzing of late.

And thank you for clarifying the multiple characters issue for me. I'll likely use the mother-son set as an NPC, and either use the Soul Reaper as a back-up (in the event something happens to the Hollow), or use it as a second character when I and all of you are comfortable with my skills here.

The captain of the 12th squad has replaced his arm and eye with mechanical parts. An ipod or compact disc player is well within range of possibilities. The whole "working off spiritual power" is your option; it's not like it has to be.

Technologically I'd call Soul Society as highly advanced. There's humans with same means, but can't just be anyone. Perhaps black market, secret organizations, financial superpowers, etc. If you can imagine it and explain it well, it could be possible. With the Tech skill the option of creating inventions comes into play. The same can be said for those, but nothing so OP (over powered) might be rejected. Nothing is perfect/invincible.

Thank you for the answers. I'll fine-tune my character write-ups for now, including the re-working of combat styles. As for Histories and Roleplay samples, I'd like to get your responses on the character's first. There's four different histories, personalities and such that I've built around Doppelganger alone, all of which I've rejected. I've also gone through two character designs (before sketching out a rough and keeping it as a final), and six different abilities or variations from there.

I'd like to refine what I work with before I describe it. I enjoy the liquid-state Hollow I've created, but if such a thing doesn't work out, I'd rather not have to write up a fifth and sixth, only to realize that they must be scrapped so I can draw back to the beginning again.

I've no real issues with the Soul Reaper, as my only question was to what degree his technological capabilities were (built with stats [25/10/20/5]).

Your input is very, very helpful. And thank you for your time.

At the mention of liquid state, I have the obvious worries. I'm a pessimist by nature so I'll assume the worst. If this liquid like state makes it impossible to damage you I'd say it's abit much. Limitations of duration as well as drawbacks; being unable to attack during that time. Possible, but still reluctant to allow it so easily. With the name of doppelganger I can only assume you wish some shape shifting ability to some extent as well. Shape changing isn't too bad provided, but it depends on the extent on the form changing. A simple change of appearance is fine. Making swords and tendrils shoot from your body? I rather not.

Well, I'll try to manage those points.

Doppelganger's 'Assume' Ability only allows him to appear as a devoured soul, including the point of mimicking their voices. He can't attack (not that he could anyways, see Liquid State for more), and is unable to use any abilities while doing so. I was thinking of using the drawback that he has to remain stationary while changing, since he is a liquid creature. I'm still unsure about that drawback, but I wanted it to be quite obvious that he had to remain a pacifist in order to stay in another's form. Even in order to attack from that form, he has to manifest his mask first. And if he touches people, it's quite obvious that he's not what he appears to be (again, we'll look to Liquid State for that).

He has no power to manifest weapons, or even clothes for that matter, with this ability. (I do see some things that I should work on with that, like the clothes part, but he's a low-level hollow, and I could give him an 'Assume+' Ability at a later date which would allow him extra skills like donning clothes.)

Doppelganger's 'Liquid State' Ability refers to his own body. He can be harmed, but cannot harm others. It's drawbacks are in its inability to actually become a hardened object. If he attacks, he has to bite his prey with his mask, which is his only real form of physical attack.

Let's say he goes and swings his paw at a target in an attempt to claw them open. It couldn't and wouldn't work. The target would feel the blow like it was a ball of mud that had slapped them. There'd be a mess, but that's about it. The only time he could cut someone without using his mask is if frozen solid, and then there are three drawbacks; He is slowed, he is able to be shattered (an equivalent to killing, if the blow is right), and he breaks when he applies force (so swiping you with that paw tends to break it off.

The tricky part that I saw was in regeneration. I wanted him to regain lost mass (since he'll lose it in battle anyway), but not at a very fast rate. He has a regeneration rate of 90% over 12 hours, and cannot lose that last 10% mass (This particular amount encompasses his mask and head). So he has a regeneration rate of 7.5% per hour, or 0.125% mass regeneration per minute.

I know there are points I've missed here. But I have to go. I'll answer more questions later.

Thank you.
