The ground shuddered as the menos slowly made their way in the nearly dark underground. Their immense size was enough to make most hollow run away in fear of being trampled. While the smarter ones ran in fear of being eaten by the titanic beings. There white grinning faces contridicting their savage natures. Such power they possessed, such presence, and yet they were of simple minds. For all the strength that they held they were merely driven by hunger, anger, and in rare occasions fear for their existence. Such primal creatures and yet they were at the beck and call of the smaller hollows called adjuchas. Although a menos would have to be careful to not step on them, their size beguiled the power their small frames held. In fact their power was superior to the behemoths and their minds more complex, an even greater advantages against the lumbering brutes.
Perhaps that was the true reason the menos grande obeyed their command and heeded their call. They felt that power and feared for their lives bend their primitive wills to that of the smaller beast. Perhaps they weren't so dumb after all.

Spoiler:
But there was a wolf among the pack of sheep. There was a menos that wasn't like the rest. It's mask didn't have a clownish grin, it was shaped differently. The other menos didn't seem to notice the strange difference, but at the same time something felt off about it. Subconsciously they kept further from their odd looking brethren. After walking for hours their caution was suddenly affirmed. For most of the journey the odd one had been at the far end of the pack. Suddenly it lurched forward and rammed into another menos close to it. As it crashed into the other menos it's mask opened to reveal it's rows of sharp teeth. These fangs sank into the neck of the unfortunately creature before it could formulate a scream. The force of the impact sent the menos to the ground with the other on top of it. The rest of the group didn't even noticed that two of it's number had vanished and continued their trek. As the gap between it and the group increased the attacking menos bit harder into the other monster's flesh. The menos tried to move it's arms to push the attacker off of it, but laying face down it was awkward to reach back and impossible to get good leverage. That problem didn't exist for the attack as he grabbed the reaching hands and slammed them to the ground. Next he locked his jaws and yanked back it's head tearing the flesh trapped in it's teeth. The black shroud that covered the towering creature ripped with the skin as a new hole was made in the creature on the ground. Warm blood filled the monster's mouth as it chewed the tainted flesh. The wounded beast screamed in agony, but none would come to it's aid.

Already the monster could feel it's power and life fading. The cannibalistic hollow bent it's head once more to bite into it's prey. It didn't know why it craved its' own kind. Like the others it was driving by hunger, and the taste of it's fellow grande was the only thing that slated it's thirst. With the second bite the weakened best managed a gurgle as it's spine was severed and the body went limp. The other beast continued it's feast in silence. Every bite was bliss. A jolt of ecstasy flowed from it's toes to it's massive head. It sent a tingle into the back of it's brain. Something it couldn't describe. For a creature that couldn't speak or think as sudden clarity an odd sensation that felt so exhilarating it was scary. Although it didn't know that this strange feeling was, it only knew that it wanted more. It had devoured most of the other menos, it must have continued to eat while in it's stupor. It stood to it's full height and moved away from the torn carcass. It started in the direction the group had went. It must feed again, it must have that feeling back whatever it was. It staggered nearly falling over. It's body somehow week from the strange experience. It wobbled, but then managed to right itself and took a more steady step this time. The weakness had passed and it was ready to continue it's hunt.

Lumbering forward the large creature covered ground. Such large legs and such a long stride ate away at the distance between it and the group it had left. They were simple creatures, they moved in a straight line for the most part. If something was in there way they went around it or through it. In this area the only thing to impede their progress would be the various stalagmites, stalactites, and broken rocks the littered the terrain. There was nothing they couldn't overcome with their sheer size. The deep underground area was larger than anyone could fathom, much like the endless desert high above. But unlike the sandy wasteland there lurked many more of it's kind, the gargantuan hollow. Thus was it named the Menos Forest. Such knowledge was wasted on the creature hunting for the group. This place could be called Candy Land, or the Land of the Lost, useless titles that hid the truth of what it was: a feeding ground. It was a savage jungle where predators became prey to other predators. Eat or be eaten, and every moment you had to look out for a possible threat. That was unless you were on the top of the food chain. The hollow once called Stratus was slowly working his way up said food chain even if it didn't realize it. His hunger was the key, the need to feed would drive to new heights.

But such things weren't the creatures mind as it continued it's course. There was only the return of the strange feeling the eating of other menos gave it. A new addiction that it could not deny with it's primitive mind. In the distance shapes could be seen. From the distance it could feel their energy as a dog would sense something by smell. It could feel the other menos grande, and it mouth literally began to water in anticipation. Excitement bubbled up in the monster as it drew closer and closer. They group moved at a leisurely pace, but the one hunting them was now moving at run. The gap closed and the hollow's excitement rose even higher. With the growing excitement came the rising of it's impatience. Rage from the beast was usually reserved for when it had been hurt by another, again another rare occurrence. Without thinking it funneled it's energies towards it's mouth and an orb of crimson light quickly formed. The violent energy swelled in size as his mouth opened wider. The next moment the front of the orb released it's payload. The air sizzled as cero rushed at the group of menos and exploded knocking them to the ground. Not even hesitating he moved on the now disorientated group. He was on him like a lion on his downed prey, biting into the flesh like a fresh apple. A juicy apple at that. The other menos screamed in pain as the warm feeling worked through the attacker's system. Nothing could compare with this feeling, this joy. Joy? It stopped moving as if struck by a stray bolt of lightning. The odd feeling of before had returned with the bliss of eating. In the strange stupor it had finished eating the head of the creature before it.

A roar roused it from the half lucid state, the other hollows were now standing and quite furious. A couple of the creatures hadn't survived the initial blast of it's cero. Those that survived didn't make it through untouched. Three towering monsters burned, bruised, and full of rage. The mismatched numbers did little to deter him he wanted more, needed more. They were all surprised when he uncharacteristically jumped at them. With a mighty heave he had pushed his massive frame off the ground and body-slammed into two of the trio. His left hand smashed into the face of one menos as it's mouth opened to bite into the skull of the other. The nails pierced the mask of the monster and gave a cry of great pain as it's mask crumbled. As for the other menos it was more fortunate as the it's death was rather quick and painless. The mouth closed taking a chuck of the others' head instantly. Again came the rush and thrill it sought. The third's confusion was short lived as a began to charge a cero at it's mouth. It was a last recourse against such an attacker, not even concerned with it's own safety with launching an attack at close proximity. Sensing the pulsating energy hollow stopped mid bight and lashed out with it's hand. There was a snap as the hand cleaved the other menos' feet off and it fall backwards it's hands reach for the empty air. In it's shock the cero launched from it's mouth. The red light arched into the darkness only to hit some hanging rocks and exploded. A hail of rocks the size of a stretch limousine fell from the dark sky. Many of which slammed the hollow as he continued his meal. Such blows did nothing to it's massive frame it didn't even turning around. The second menos was already being eaten as the third tried frantically to stand. MEAT came the thought. The feeling no longer startled the monster is filled his gullet. Slowly it stood and walked to the only other menos still moving. The large foot slammed down on the wiggling arm and another in the middle of it's chest. There was a gleam in it's eyes that wasn't there before, a malicious light that sent a feeling of fear in the beast. Stratu's mouth opened wide as it slowly bent down over the doomed creature.
"MEAT" Came the growling voice before it's fang like teeth sunk into the monster and took the first bite.
