| Stumbling the gray hollow mad his way to through the cavern. He felt so weak now, thankfully with his new arms he was able stop himself before he fell over. It was odd these new appendages they seemed to move on their own. When he had first come he had thought he was in control, but now it seemed they worked on their own. He had rushed to return underground after the fainting spell. The transformation had left him drained and vulnerable. He tried to examine the new limbs, but they moved about like children on sugar. It was only his original arms that he could move under his will. With them he grabbed at the newly sprouted upper arms. This proved tricky as they kept moving just out of his sight. And so he struggled for several moments until he had an epiphany and grabbed the truant arm at the shoulder. Stratus needed both hands as he grappled the left arm. The other three limbs didn't see to like this and came to the rescue of their brother. The two right arms pulled his original right arm back by it's wrist. Without the help the left hand had trouble holding to other left arm. It pulled free easily. The newly liberated arm then punched him in the face. Stratus was shocked beyond words. As the shock wore off and his rage grew. He growled in fury and attempted to strike with his right only to realize it was still being held by his other two right arms. The two left arms then captured his own left and now he was fully restrained. He was livid, but there was nothing to do. He was losing a fight with himself. It took nearly an hour to calm himself down. Only then did the other arms release him. Stratus fumed and the arms did as they pleased.
The tunnel gradually go wider as he moved. The network of caves beneath the sands were numerous. The only way he found his way was by constantly feeling around with his sense. Avoidance of the larger signals was the key. The sanctuary that Moldale had created was close to the strong signals, but far enough away to be safe. Stratus only had to find such a place and he knew he would be close. He knew he had to be close. He had left to the surface not too far from the dwelling. Once there he would have to ask the veteran hollow about this new development. He passed a tunnel and suddenly stopped. It wasn't by choice his bottom left arm and grabbed the side of the tunnel. He yanked, but it's claws were driven deep into the stone. "Let go damn it!" he growled, he raised his right hand and the other arms were quick to stop him. He could feel the vein bulge on his head. This was getting strange; his arms were controlling him. After several deep breaths he relaxed again. "Fine! I'll go down that tunnel!" he shouted and the left arm released it's grasp on the wall. The other arms did as well. "Majority rules." he muttered turning back and down the unfamiliar tunnel.

| As he walked he thought several times how he should bolt the other direction, but when he did the other arms tensed. He could feel them ready to grab the walls and stop him. They knew his thoughts, but he couldn't begin to fathom theirs. It was infuriating. He wanted to rip them off his body, but knew that was impossible. Stratus just walked, trying to figure what he could do. The answer was simple; not much. And so his dark trek continued. There were few illuminating crystals down the path and the ground was uneven. It wasn't a place many had gone. Stratus kept his senses sharp.
After some distance the tunnel narrowed and became low. He hand to bend to avoid hanging rocks from the rough ceiling. The arms hugged his body so he could clear the sides. He thought of trying go back and run, but at this point he was too deep in to try escaping. There were several parts along the route the hands had stopped him and made him take a branching path. They were leading him somewhere and he could only follow. The only other thoughts to enter his mind was the acknowledgement of several strong signals around him. The gray hollow compressed his signal as much as possible. His eyes had become accustomed to the darkness. He strained them further trying to see ahead as far as possible. At any moment a creature could burst through the wall and attack. In such a cramped space fighting would be impossible. The last thing he wanted was to be killed out of the middle on nowhere without putting up a good fight. Something now poked his neck. It startled him and he jerked his head to look. Here it comes he thought. There was not creature ready to pounce, it was only one of his mutinous arms. While thinking he had stopped moving. It must have jabbed him to get him going again. Stratus sighed and continued. Another branch in the tunnel and the arms choose the path. The new tunnel seems to descend somewhat. Go too deep and it's a guarantee that he'll be dead. But why would his own body try to kill him? What if the arms weren't a part of him? What if they were some other hollow's strange ability? But thing again, why could he feel everything the arms touched. Their actions may be questionable, but the limbs were his. It was too confusing to think about, the complex logic wasn't Stratus' strong point. Problems you could hit were always easier. While he was thinking the tunnel became very wide and and abruptly ended. Still lost in though Stratus walked and nearly fell.
He gave yell as the ground dropped from beneath him. The two new right arms grabbed the ledge before he could fall. He was amazingly high up, the gray hollow was unable to even see what lay below. One of his left hands covered his mouth and muffled his scream while the other left pointed to a dark shape no too far away. It was brighter here, and the shape looked to be composed of shadow. But as high up as he was it had to be something big. Stratus then remembered the creatures in which the Menos Forest was named after. The could be no mistake that this was one of them. The pointing left hand now pointed up back the way he'd came. Secreting a small amount of slime to his original hands he climbed back into the tunnel mouth. His heart in his chest raced like a jack rabbit. He was about to go back down the tunnel when the left arm grabbed the wall again. Stratus looked at is skeptically. Did it really want him to go back out there? Was it insane? Wait it's his own arm, so does that make him insane? Before he brain could wrap around the puzzling situation the other arms pulled him to the tunnel's edge. The upper right arm tapped him on the shoulder and the lower right pointed to another hole in the rock face. "Over there then?" he knew the arms wouldn't let him go back, so once more he followed their command. Applying slime to his hands and feet he quickly scaled the flat wall. The claws of the extra arms dug into the rock face and helped support his weight. He noted that they didn't have slime on them. Did they lack that ability? He mental shrugged as he pulled himself into the new tunnel. Darkness lay before him and he moved forward once again. He heard a roar behind him and quickened his pace.

| This tunnel had a gradual incline which Stratus was thankful for. It mean he was making some distance between himself and the behemoth he heard screaming. Anywhere but there was fine with him. Once more his eye adjusted to the natural darkness again. The tunnel was wider than the last which was another thing he was thankful for. There was little else different from the other path he had taken. The arms guided him. Stratus found himself talking to them, just to pass the time. "This is insane." he muttered. "I almost got killed back there. Now I don't even know where the hell we are!" The didn't respond, it wasn't like they had mouths. It was true, whatever sense of direction he had was lost after the many twist and turns he had already taken. Trying to resist the arms now would be useless. He didn't know which way to run given the chance. He groaned and kept moving. If this tunnel did lead to the surface he might figure a way to get back to Moldale. He hoped the other hollow would have some insight on his rebellious limbs.
Time. That was something he hated about Hueco Mundo. There was no way to tell time. It was eternally night above and just as dark below. Time had no real meaning. You lived in darkness, and you died in darkness. The human's world was bright. Their sun banished the night. Day and then darkness. Those damn humans didn't understand how nice such a thing was. He kept moving, such thoughts were bothersome. It was best to take heed of his surroundings, avoid the possible dangers. Even though he thought it, no dangers came. In fact now that he thought about it he hadn't run into anyone or anything. In what seemed like hours he started to spot the luminous crystal. The air grew familiar and the ground more even from the well walked path. It didn't take long for him to emerge from a tunnel into larger cavern. Stratus immediately knew where he was. It wasn't far from the training area in Moldale's Sanctuary. Stratus looked down at the new limbs and laughed. They had led him home! He walked confidently towards the tunnel that would lead to the main chamber, but suddenly staggered. His head felt hazy and he stumbled before falling face first to the ground.
He awoke later laying on his back. Instantly he sensed around him, Moldale was nearby. He craned his neck sure enough the other hollow stood across the chamber. He leaned back and sighed. Falling asleep like that wasn't something hollows should do. The area was safe only though acts of strength of those in the area. It didn't mean some stray hollow wouldn't sneak in and devour him. "Awake are ya?" Moldale asked turning around. "You look like you've been run ragged." Stratus laughed. "You wouldn't believe me. These arms put me through so much trouble." he snorted "What arms?" The horse like hollow asked genuinely confused. Stratus bolted upright. Sure enough the extra arms were gone. The gray hollow stared at his companion for a long time without a word. Too much to think about he laid back down. "Nothing." he muttered. "Nothing at all."
