| ❝ Whenever you fight from this point on, there is one thing that you must never do. And that is to die alone. Our bodies are composed entirely from Reishi. If we die, our bodies will disintegrate and become part of the reishi that makes up Soul Society. And when that time comes, where will your heart go? Your heart will be passed on to your friends. If you pass it on to your friends, then your heart will always live on within them. Kuchiki, that's why you must never, ever, ever die alone. ❞
She never expected her life to end the way it did. Her life was supposed to be that of a full one, she would grow old with her husband and her kids and then die off in her sleep with them all by her side. However, the vision shattered the moment that she was hit by the oncoming car and sent flying into the air. Why didn't she look at where she was going? She did. Why didn't she just wait another day at home? She couldn't. It was to much for her to handle. She would not take it anymore, but it had lead her to her death in which she died alone on the pavement in the rain. The pain that she was feeling throughout her body was not as painful as the pain that was flowing from her heart. She felt depressed on numerous occasions. It was evident that she did not want to die here, not now. Her eyesight was getting blurry. Not only from the rain picking up but because she was fading. Fading into a whole new world that she knew nothing about. It was a scary feeling really as she liked t know where she was going beforehand, even in death. Just thinking about that....it brought somewhat of a smile to her face and laughter from her throat - though that gave her more pain. She didn't care. Her death was inevitable, at least she could go out with a smile to her face.
In the meanwhile, what she did not know was that there was something coming close, really close. It was something that was evil, sinister, and did not who you were. Its species was that of a Hollow. Hollows came in all different shapes and sizes but their goals are all the same, to stay alive. Only that of a Shinigami, Quincy or someone like that could be able to take them out. Luckily, a Shinigami was on his way and to the wounded girl but he would have to deal with that first. Within the next half an hour, the hollow was dealt with and then he made his way to her. Moving closer to her, he could feel her sorrow and pain as she just lied there, motionless. He didn't want her to feel anything else - no more pain. It was not like he was developing feelings for her, it was just another one of his missions and as a protector of Karakura Town, he had a job to do - but why did it feel as when he was moving closer to her, feelings were emerging from deep within?
She couldn't move, the pain was too much for her to move now but she did feel someone close. Someone that wasn't going to hurt her - someone who may actually help her out. Her life continued to fade, slowly. The male bent his knees and looked down, eyeing her figure slowly. It would appear that everything on her would be broken, but she was still breathing faintly. "H...Hello there." He started off. It appeared that he didn't know what to do at first as he looked at her. Maybe he just started guarding this part of Karakura Town and had just became that of a full ranked Shinigami. She didn't know. "Hi." She said as loud as she could, which was at this point only a whisper. He then knew that if she was going to do something, that he needed to do so now before it was too late.
"Can you sit up?" His body re-positioned itself to look at her in the face. Blood was smeared all over to the point where you couldn't really see her face. She didn't move. He moved closer to her. What he didn't know was that the next few breaths that she took would be that of her last. When he saw that she was not breathing, he began to worry. Her soul flowed from out of her body and to in front of him, causing him to properly stand up. The soul looked at him with an innocent and pure smile as if the burdens that was placed once on her shoulders has been released. She, in his eyes looked beautiful - something that one could only see within their dreams - but she was right here, right in front of his eyes. His hand wanted to reach out and touch her, just to see if she was real. She moved closer to him, getting into arms reach so that he knew that she was real and not something that his imagination conjured up.
He gasped. She was real! It wasn't something that he made up! Which made him happy, hell, he was ecstatic about it. Moving closer to her, he placed her hand through the locks of her hair, feeling how soft and delicate it was and it was just as he thought. She blinked as he ran his hands through. Why was he getting close to that of a ghost and someone that he practically just met. She found it weird but didn't want to push him away. "My name is Kiyoko." She began, her hands moving closer to grasp one another. "But everyone knows me as Yoko." Thinking it would be best to befriend him before she moved onto the other side, she smiled.
A screech was heard moments later only to have them both look up to the sky and see that another hollow was coming after Yoko. The Shinigami looked at Yoko once more and seeing as there time had to be cut short, pulled out his zanpakuto and sighed. "Yoko, I need you to look at me. I know we just met and all but I am afraid that our time is up." Yoko looked down at him, locking eyes with his. "Wait, why must our tim-" The moment her head went down, she was hit with the bottom of his sword, sending her to a place that was beyond that of heaven itself, the Soul Society. It was only then that she wondered if she was ever going to see that Shinigami once again.

| She wasn't able to give her heart to him as she wanted to but at least, as least she didn't die alone right? Continuously floating to that of the Soul Society, she made sure that she was going to do a little sight-seeing first. She saw many things; buildings, people, clouds - nothing out of the ordinary as of yet. The ride there was rather a quick one, having felt as she was just turned into a ball of light moments ago. Now changing and manifesting back into that of a human body, there was some things that were different with her - but she noticed that of her clothing first. Accommodated with that of what you would wear to a high school, she wore that of a white buttoned down shirt with a jet black tie and a matching jacket on top. Her skirt was pleated and the same colour of her jacket. Not liking the way socks felt on her did she have a pair of black stockings on along with a pair of flats. Standing up and brushing herself off, she pushed her glasses on top of her face once more. Wait...glasses? When did she get those? Taking them off, figuring that she did not need them was when she saw that she did need them and badly too. Ok, everything seemed to be alright now. But then, there was something black that passed by her view. She wanted to know what it was, so she turned around. Nothing there. What was happening? The black thing passed by her once more causing her to turn around once more. Nothing. The next time that it happened, Yoko grabbed it and pulled. "Ow!" Why was she in pain? It wasn't like it was connecte- wait, was it connected? She pulled again to make sure and surely enough...it was. Why was it connected? How was it connected? She did not even know. Only animals had tails and she damn sure was not one of them. Well, she had to make sure of this. Dropping the tail from her grasp, she placed her hands on top of her head - feeling around to see if with this tail, she had the matching ears to go with it.
Twitch, Twitch. Yoko screamed.
"What is going on here?!?!?!?!" She was so confused. Why was she a neko? Why did she have glasses? Why was all of this happening to her? Questions that she had that could not be answered because there was no one around her to help. Sand surrounded her and the sun blazed down upon her five foot, five inched body. It was bliss, with the wind blowing every now and again. Was this going to be where she would spend the rest of her life at? It looked like it, and so with that, she began walking around - wondering if there were other life-forms beyond herself here.
