Alleyway (Dray)

Dray was walking back from one of his now weekly trips to the Old couple who had first helped him when he came here, a square-foot box in a green bag slung over his shoulder. He was wearing his normal clothes today (ooc: See Avatar) and was in a cheerful mood as he walked back towards the dorms.

As he looked around he realized he still had quite the trip ahead of him, he saw a few students walk out of an alleyway. A shortcut maybe? I have time I guess I'll try it out. Dray took a turn down the alleyway and saw another shinigami leaning up against the wall. Must be a new student, pretty attractive, but i heard she has a cold personality, ah well. Draylon continued walking down the alleyway, passing right by her.

As Draylon walked by the Girl, she Released some spiritual energy, Draylon paused and turned around. Obviously she is trying to get my attention. Suddenly it felt as if an icy wind had blown through. That feels pretty good on a hot day like today, I've always preferred cold to heat. As Draylon made eye contact with her she said, "Yo." then pushed off the wall and stood upright.

Dray looked at her for a second. I don't know what she wants but i might as well introduce myself. Draylon tilted his head a little as he looked at her and said, "Hey, I'm Draylon Karosu, most people call me Dray. Your the new girl at the academy right?"

Draylon listened as she introduced herself, and extended her hand, Dray stared at the hand for a second, then reached out and shook the hand. When he grabbed it, she sent out another wave of spiritual pressure. She mentioned the names some of the others called her. That's not very nice.

"I think I will call you Yuui, although i do request you keep your Spiritual Energy under control if you can, at the Academy is one thing but this is the Rukongai, there are a lot of normal people here, many would not be able to do anything if you kept releasing your power like that. It could become a major problem." Draylon let out a small smile and put his hand on her shoulder, "It seems some of the students have been unkind to you, for this I apologize, hope fully we can be friends in the future." Draylon let out a big grin.

Dray listened as she talked and fell into pace with her. "Yeah, I'm heading back as well." Dray looked upward a bit and said, "There is probably a lot more you need to consider when you think of someone as weak. For example, It could be they are avoiding you because of the arrogant air you put out, why put in so much effort to try to befriend someone when someone else would be so much easier to maintain a friendship with? Also just because someone is weaker than you doesn't make them useless. Everyone has their own area of expertise, take 4th squad, they may not be able to fight very well, but without them the Gotei wouldn't be here."

Dray looked over at Yuui and said, "I prefer to think of it as potential, even if someone is weaker than me they may become stronger over time, or they may have specialties that I can't do, it is far better in my opinion to have those skills available to you than not. I like to think in the long term, and while you are at the academy is the best time you will ever have to try and build a lot of lasting relationships with others. Even in the short term, friends are still useful, even if weak, besides, weakness is what drives people to be strong."

Draylon paused and looked down a little, rubbed the back of his head with his spare hand and said, "Sorry, I kind of went off on you, forcing my Ideology on you, I just don't want you to waste this opportunity." Draylon blushed a little as he was looking down.

"I'm not scared of you, because there is no reason to be, you are a student same as I, and there would be no reason to attack me. The reason i talked to you is because you seemed to want to talk to me, I'm not stupid, The flexing of your spiritual energy was obviously a cry for attention, so I'm giving it to you." Dray looked over at her, "You may not think of it that way but it's true nonetheless." Dray looked up at the sky, "I have met people in the past who could crush both of us like bugs, Hollow and Shinigami alike. Thats probably another reason that there is no reason to fear you."

Dray looked over at her with a smile on his face and said, "Why would you even bother testing me then? If the outcome didn't matter to you why even go to the trouble in the first place? The reason is your are lonely. Standing all on your own is hard, even for the strongest of men. There is no weakness in knowing and acknowledging your own needs as a person. In fact not acknowledging them would be a weakness, to be strong you need to know what limitations you have, in order to fix them."

Dray looked forward, "If you don't, you will gain strength more and more, only in the end to fall to the weaknesses you failed to acknowledge and fix. And based on your current attitude, there will be no one there to help you stand up and support you. Being strong doesn't mean you have to be strong alone.
