Looks: James stands at 6’6 with dark brown, rather unkempt hair; his eyes are so red that they seem luminescent. He is normally seen wearing worn and tattered black jeans with a leather belt and silver buckle. Normally he wears a button down short-sleeved black shirt with a two different necklaces one with a small flint arrowhead and the other a gold cross. He normally wears leather boots that look like they have seen better days.

On his left arm he carries a tattoo of the Wiccan pentagram superimposed over the tree of life. Four scars on his left shoulder mark him as an outcast to his own people. He is very careful not to smile to often as his teeth are pointed, one of the few characteristics that he cannot hide. Though at first look James looks like a normal human, upon closer inspection most of his body is covered with hard, but flexible scales.

When angered his dragon side takes over, making him take on a more dragon like appearance. His scales turn bright red and his fingernails become harder and sharper able to cut through stone and steel alike. His facial features become more pronounced making his sharpened teeth and red eyes stand out more.

Now after being resealed James is more human than dragon his scales and claws gone as well as his former seal of the Wiccan tattoo. Now he sports a seal that was drawn in his own blood on his back.

Personality: James is often a very quiet person choosing not to talk most of the time, almost to the point of annoyance to those around him. When he does talk it is often less than two or three words at a time. Most people tend to avoid him on the street due to the aura of violence he gives off naturally, over the years he has mastered most human emotions and mannerisms so as to pass off as a normal human.

He is very well versed when it comes to history and ancient lore having lived most of it himself. The rest of what he has learned has been through life experience, though most would consider him uneducated they couldn’t be more wrong. James posses a photographic memory that allows him to absorb the knowledge he is presented. He chooses to try and not make friends due to the fact that he is cursed to watch them live and die; James often describes the human life span as “Gone in a single breath.”

He treats spirits very politely for the most part, as he sees most of them are lost in the world without a purpose. He keeps a level head towards shinigami, some he considers friends while others he would prefer to rip them limb from limb. Hollows however bring out a more bestial side of him. James often spends the days watching people as the pass him by on the street, he watches them for any changes of patterns in their day to day life. Often times he is found around a graveyard mourning friends that past, or looking in on the descendents of those whom he cared for. Money has never been a concern for James as he has a horde of gold hidden in places throughout the world he roams.

He is very cautious when fighting always keeping his anger in check, as the angrier he gets the more beast-like he becomes both physically and mentally. He still hates himself for the ones he killed in the wake of a fight before he calmed down. He has tried many times to drown himself in alcohol, but no matter how much he drinks he can’t succumb to alcohol poisoning. James anger is very explosive when it is forced out instead of controlled, in the past he was known to have an anger that could level a village.

After being resealed with the help of Kaiyo and Kuro; James is fearful of his powers as he has seen what destruction his powers brought before. He still has no fear when facing a hollow though now he puts himself at a much bigger risk as his scales and claws are gone. Due to the lack of his understanding of said new powers he now carries Clarent, one of the four swords that are part of his dragon treasure hoard.

Sword Abilities: Clarent due to being one of the four swords of the original legends is able to hold its own against a shinigami’s zan. It is said to have its own burning aura that glows so bright that it lights up the night and glows even brighter during the sun rise.

Occupation: (Part-time)Professor of History and Mythological studies (Former: Dragon and then in the 1920’s he was a fire fighter for a brief period of time.)

Special Characteristics: James is multi-lingual able to speak Japanese, French, Spanish, Latin, as well as, English. He is also well versed in the use of the broad sword, spear, dagger and musket; though he prefers the use of his hands in a fight. He possesses a photographic memory as well as the ability to recall anything he has seen in an instant.

In his 600 years of life he has studied numerous martial arts as well as invent a few styles of his own. James has studied jujitsu, taijutsu, intonjutsu, iron palm, and kickboxing; he also practices tai chi to keep his mind focused and his body flexible. He prides himself on being able to recognize a variety of styles when it comes to a fight.

Thanks to his dragon metabolism he doesn’t have to eat, but once every two weeks and can go for days on end without sleep. In order to breathe fire he has to eat certain things that react with the fluid stored in his fire bladder which is located behind his lungs. Without the metal reactant the fluid won’t catch flame but it is still highly corrosive.

General Power: Being a dragon James holds a variety of characteristics of dragons, while others he gave up with his dragon form. He is stronger than normal humans physically able to lift and throw cars. He is also more durable than he appears able to withstand impacts that would normally shatter bones with just a bruise to show for it.

James biology is also different from a human in the manner that he is in possession of two sets of lungs and a fire bladder. His nails are the same density as diamond and sharp enough to cut through most stone, they grow at an accelerated rate when broken off, as do his scales. This is simply the product of survival as dragons didn’t have the luxury of taking a long time to heal after they were injured.

*Pre-reseal*His form is controlled by his hold on his temper, while unable to return back to a full dragon the angrier he becomes the more dragon characteristics he takes on. At first most people get a menacing feeling from him as does a prey when the hunter is close, the next thing that happens is that James’s features become more dragon like as his scales and teeth become more pronounce. Next he starts to develop spines along his fore-arms and back and his dragon like temper and rage takes over. Before the next stage of the transformation can take place the Wiccan tattoo on his forearm starts to glow bright red as it grows so hot it brings him back to his senses.


After being resealed James developed the ability to utilize the aura of his spiritual energy into a battle avatar of sorts. When the need arises he is able to envelope himself in a pure white-feral-feeling energy that acts as a battle armor of sorts around him.

Techniques/Abilities:

*Pre-reseal*Fire Breath – As explained earlier he possesses a bladder behind one set of lungs that is filled with a corrosive acid like substance that reacts with certain metals to produce flames. These certain metals are often found in minute deposits between his teeth. When the need arises when he has to replace the metals he often carries certain metals in his pockets. The fire bladder holds enough fluid for 2 minutes of continuous flame or a dozen fire balls.

Heightened Senses – James still possesses the senses of a dragon, this allows him to see on a different spectrum and hear noises that most human ears would not be able to pick up. His sense of smell is so strong he is able to tell the ingredients in most foods with just a sniff. When angered his vision shifts from its normal spectrum to one that senses heat and the percussion of a person’s heart.

*Pre-reseal*Hardened Scales – The scales on his arms, neck, chest, back and legs are extremely hard able to act as armor, his abdomen and shoulder blades are covered in much softer scales. This makes his hand to hand skills deadlier as the scales on his hands are much like natural brass knuckles. When needed he can make them stand up on end; when he was a dragon he often did this to clean the scales, but in his life as a human he had found that it comes in handy to cut with the back of your hand as well as your claws.

Aura Combat- James is able to form a humanoid dragon form around him out of his draconic aura that acts as the armor, claws, and wings he formally had in his bestial state. Though not quite as strong as his scales formally were they are still a formidable armor in battle. While the former stance takes loads of concentration he is also able to take a partial avatar where he only forms the claws and forearms of the avatar as well. When he loses consciousness the aura around him fades to virtually nothing. Overuse of this power can cause many problems from exhaustion to even the threat of spontaneously combusting.

Energy Leech- After a experimenting for a few days James discovered that he is able to draw the Spiritual energy from others in order to prolong his battle prowess with his own aura fighting style. To utilize this power he has to be in physical contact with the person, then speed or slow down the person’s frequency to match his own before he can borrow the power. Virtually ineffective in combat as a hostile person is almost impossible to force a matching frequency, whereas a friend or comrade would have to have trust in him not to suck them dry and relax enough for him to guide there frequency.

History: (His major history will be revealed in two parts once at rank three and again at rank six however I will give you a brief idea of what he has done in the last year.)

James has spent the last 10 years keeping a low profile, a professor of history at a small town college he answer to the name of Professor Jacob Talog this decade; a very well off American professor living in Japan as a teacher and a sensei in a small dojo. He spends the majority of his days in the private back room of his dojo perfecting his own styles. When not at the dojo he lives in a large manner far from society so that he may keep in practice with certain skills that are not of the human nature.

As a professor he is very lax, choosing to make very few personal appearances, James just leaves his lesson plans in the hands of his teaching assistants. Only few students have actually met with him face to face and all of them describe them the same way as being a very forceful person. However James quite likes the students that have the courage to face him face to face. When one of his students was attacked and put into the hospital over her views towards politics, James tracked down the person who was responsible. When the police found the man, thanks to an anonymous phone call the man was blabbering on about a demon that the girl had summoned for revenge.
