MEDIC!! (Darkness or other squad 4 person)

How many times had he been forced into a bed to recover? Arawn had since lost count. The most recent adventure into the human world had left him with deep injuries. The monster had nearly bitten him in half, he had loss quite abit of blood. The squad had been successful in treating him, but his body was left quite weak afterwards. The creature's bite had severed muscles and nerves it seemed. The fact he had survived was amazing enough. He hadn't had any visitors other than the squad 4 members treating him. Honestly he hadn't expected anyone to see him. Those of his own squad weren't too friendly nor had he any close ties with them. At most someone would probably send him the work he missed. Another break from lab duties wasn't too bad. It made up for the botched day off. With a sigh he leaned back in the bed. Sitting in a bed all day it left him alot of time to think. One thought that came to mind was how healing kido worked. Hado and Bakudo he understood; the energies are manipulated for various effects. He had never thought to ask. It seemed like a good idea to ask, since there were plenty of the 4th division around.

Kuroi opened the door, he had been working with this particular patient for a while now, and a mission to the world of the living for tea leaves was the reason. He knew all of this, or had pieced it together. He had been the on the response team and the surgury, and had fixed him up quite well...

Kuroi was opened the door. And was pleased to see the man awake. Kuroi walked to the end of the bed, and picked up the clipboard at the end and said, "Nice to see you awake Mr. DanShir, as opposed to bleeding out on my table."

"I'm just glad to be alive." Arawn paused. Technically he was dead, it was easy to forget. He shrugged dismissing the whole matter. "I didn't mean to bleed, it just sort of happened." With so few visitors he tried to get the most out of his conversations. This man had been one of those people he had seen the most of.

"I'm no doctor, but I am starting to feel much better." He flexed his arms and raised them over his head. He tried to hide the grimace of pain from his ribs. "Well better, but not well." He gave a sigh. He could only guess how much longer he would be confined to the bed. Arawn was beyond bored with the lack of activity. "Is it possible to get some library books for me to read?" He could do some research and studying while sitting at least that wouldn't tire him out. He shifted his body and felt a slight pain again. It hurt to move, but staying completely still bothered him .

Kuroi giggled abit. He was in good humor, if not good condition. And even if he was feeling better, it was because of the increased dosage of medication, His condition had not been improved much recently... Kuroi found the request for books interesting, and could comply to it. Kuroi walked to the bed side, He was going to do some healing on his ribs.

"Aye i think we can get some library books in here, Pull open your shirt please."

Kuroi didn't wait for an answer, putting his hands to Arawn's Chest, he started healing kido, generating small bits of bone matter to take the place of the missing part of the rib. Kuroi had the broken rib righted in a few minutes of healing...

"So there is no chanting involved, and yet it works." Arawn said aloud. He had been watching the healing process intently. He had thought to figure it out, but it seemed there was more to it than meet the eye. The effect of the healing wasn't instantaneous of course, but he could feel the change. One thing Arawn lacked was the ability to feel spiritual power, but with the attendant standing so close he could faintly feel something from him. It wasn't a powerful feeling. Did healing only use a minute amount of power? If so that was all the more reason to learn it.
"I'm curious how long did it take for you to learn healing kido?" It was an easy question. He wanted to be careful and not distract the healing process. If he could get small answers he could move on to more difficult ones. If it took a normal person very long to learn, it might take him longer with his casting problems. It could be possible he could circumvent the casting similar to how he used kido now.

Kuroi gave Arawn a serious look, He didn't like people analyzing him, or his techniques, and yet, he understood, a researcher was stuck in the same room 24 hours a day, he was likely driving himself up a wall...

Kuroi finished the healing. It left about a minute of akward silence. Kuroi finished healing and took a deep breath. He took a step back and walked to a sink to wash his hands. He looked to Arawn, after turning the water on. "Well yes there is no chanting, and it took me a few failed attempts. But, Its quite deep on how it functions, I have anaylzed it, I understand you are bored, would you like to hear how i think it works?"

The fish had taken the bait! Arawn was ecstatic, but tried not to show it. He didn't want to seem too eager to learn. With practiced calm he replied
"I'd be delighted to hear about it. I find it a quite fascinating." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth. The fuzzy line between the two. He wasn't about to turn down a free lesson, he was sure to give the man his undivided attention. At the same time we would try to commit everything the man told him to memory for future reference. None of the other medics had even replied to his questions the first times. He had requested classes in healing kido from the academy after graduation, but was put on a very long waiting list. Student got priority when it came to those subjects. How was he to know he would have an interest in healing after he finished basic courses? He detached himself from such thoughts as the man had just begun talking.

The way the man explained it made it sound quite easy. But everything is easy in theory. The actual application would prove to be troublesome. Arawn was quick to note that the medic was being vague. As much as his explanation made sense, it lacked proper details and instructions. Helpful to a point, but not completely. He either didn't want to tell him, or couldn't. Whatever the reasons he knew it best not to pry. In effort to get more information might just make him stop talking all together. Let him speak his piece. Arawn craned his neck as the other man opened his bag. A curious object not unlike the one he used from time to time. He was more curious to what he was pulling out of said pouch. Chemicals? He didn't want to divert the subject, but he had heard of chemicals that had interesting effects on spiritual beings. Just like the human world gasses that could stun and knock a person out, or ones that were lethal.
He took the vial from the Kuroi. He looked at it skeptically. Still he knew it not to be poison. He just didn't like medication, mainly the tastes and after effects it tended to have. More often his stomach would be uneasy after taking pills.
