Personality: Most people who first encounter Ryouta don’t really get a good impression of him. He is often very distant to people he doesn’t know, or isn’t friends with. To these people, he speaks very little, never more than two sentences. Once he warms up to you, he tends to talk more, though usually no more than four sentences at a time. He dislikes fighting, not because he is a pacifist, but because he’s a minimalist. He hates the effort that goes into fighting. In this sense, he’s lazy; also, he hates anything he considers busywork or pointless. His sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, sometimes witty but odd, and very vulgar. Ryouta almost never raises his voice; in short, he’s a reserved, calming type of person. Despite this, he has strong convictions, and will defend his principles with almost zealous fervor. Oddly enough, despite his intellect, he speaks in a manner generally reserved for teenagers.

Appearance: Ryouta has messy long-ish black hair, fairly pale skin, and gray eyes. His face is of average size and shape, though his features are accented because of his sharp cheekbones. Ryouta’s expression is often seemingly unconcerned, bored, or graced with a small bemused smile. Changes in his expression are rare, and usually indicate emotional upheaval of some sort, or intense passion in what he’s doing. He doesn’t adorn his clothing with any decoration, and wears a pair of plain brown flip flops, or just goes barefoot. His Zanpakutō is stored in two katana-length sheathes on either side of him.


History/Background: In life, Ryouta was a fairly unremarkable person both in terms of fame and fortune. However, he was and is brilliant. At age 5, among other remarkable things, he could take apart and put back together a computer. At age 10, he had actually written several papers that had been published in scientific journals. During high school, when he was 14, he successfully constructed a small, working nuclear energy powered generator in his garage. He graduated high school shortly after, and actually did not attend a single college thereafter; instead, he took several courses at several colleges, including MIT, Harvard, and Yale.
Afterward, he returned to Japan and became a scientist whose primary work was optimizing different types of alternative energy. Ryouta was intensely passionate about his work and research, often spending long hours at his lab. It was Ryouta who figured out how to store solar energy. Any money that he deemed superfluous that came into his hands as a result of his work was donated to charity. Unfortunately, Ryouta’s demise came about in a car accident caused by a drunk driver when he was driving home from his lab.
When he found himself in Rukongai, he took the information in stride and did the typical scientist thing, that is, he went around and gathered as much information as he could about this new world. This was how he learned about the Shinigami Academy, which he enlisted in immediately, realizing that his intellectual opportunities in Rukongai would be severely limited.

Description: In its released form, Ryouta’s two ninjato become a pair of hook swords.
http://warriorspath.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/hook2.jpg that is the general idea. The hilts are wrapped with white leather, and are, as shown above, weapons in themselves. So basically, two longswords with curved hooks on the end, with blades over the hilt and a spike at the bottom of each hilt.

Ability 1: Inadzuma (flash of lightning) With the command “Shuurai” (strike, as in lightning), Ryouta can send spinning arcs of electricity/reiatsu at his enemy. That is, his reiatsu accumulates in a circle around the hook area, and then he swings his swords and releases the spinning electric projectile. Either that or he can charge an electric arc along the entire length of both his swords. Obviously, this is more destructive upon impact, but the smaller version has the advantage of being 10x faster (this will improve over time). Upon impact, the electric arcs can either explode or simply cut through, depending on what Ryouta wants it to do.

Ability 2: Banrai (heavy thunder) – With the command “Todokore” (roar), Ryouta can solidify air with his reiatsu and launch/crash it into his enemy. It is akin to getting hit with a concrete wall. He can also solidify the air into a shield around himself and/or allies.

Ability 3: Senpuku no Tategami (Lion’s Ambush) – This move takes time to set up, but is absolutely devastating. Ryouta must form a rough circle with his Inadzuma attacks, and then punch the ground inside it down with a Banrai attack. At that point, he must trick an opponent into standing inside the circle, at which point he speaks the command, “Ute” (attack). The rounded edges of the circle will flare with electric reiatsu, and seem to look like a lion’s mane. The inside of the circle will take on the appearance of a lion’s face, with the mouth where the enemy is standing. The mouth opens to fill the entire circle, and fangs of lightning stab into the enemy, effectively impaling them, or if they’re particularly tough (aka really tough Hierro) As the attack required a lot of reiatsu it leaves Ryouta weakened for a period after.

Bankai

Description of the Bankai: Upon using Bankai, Ryouta’s blades will glow and become pure reiatsu. This reiatsu will spread all over his body and form a suit of shiny black armor trimmed with lightning blue material. There seems to be a lot of said material around the neck area- it resembles a scarf there. The armor is very compact in that it fits Ryouta’s body tightly and allows maximum movement. It is very light. The gauntlets have round little studs on each of the knuckles except the thumbs, and from each of these studs a claw about a foot in length can extend (the length of these claws is adjustable to anything within a foot.) These claws are slightly hooked at the end.

Abilities:

Ability 1: Kazeshini Unkurojou
Description of ability: By dissolving parts of his armor, Ryouta can form and control a black cloud that is charged with blue electricity. The denser the cloud, the more damage it does. For example, he could surround a circular area with a two mile radius with the cloud- but the cloud would not be very dense, and thus would only be able to kill low-level Hollow in the area. By decreasing the area the cloud is spread over, thus making the cloud denser, Ryouta can do more damage. For example, surrounding an Arrancar in a hurricane like formation that is dense and black will do far more damage to it than if it was standing in that two-mile radius of cloud. The lightning within the cloud(s) does not explode upon contact. Instead, it burns and lacerates- so if Ryouta formed a small hurricane around a small roughly humanoid target, it would be simultaneously burned and sliced to death. The weakness of the technique is that Ryouta trades defense for offense.

Ability 2: Hachihane Shugotenshi no Raikou Arashi (8-Winged Guardian Angel of the Lightning Storm) and Isei no Hachisei Shintoku (Power of the 8 Sacred Divine Virtues).

Description of ability: The first name merely refers to the eight wings of blue reiatsu that sprout from the blue trim around the neck of Ryouta’s armor. The wings are about 10 feet long each, and are very flexible and powerful. They grant him a small +3 bonus to speed. The second name refers to the technique that the wings can employ. The kanji symbol for each of the eight Divine Virtues appears on the end of each wing, and from the end of each wing a beam of light comes out and meets the other seven lines. From their point of intersection, a truly massive blast of energy erupts forth.

The sun shone brightly through the foliage of the forest, dappling the face of a fairly young looking man who appeared to be dozing with his back against a tree. He was wearing robes that identified him as a student at the Shinigami Academy. His eyes open lazily and he glances blearily around, yawning as he does so.
Ryouta stood and stretched. “Oh man, I wonder how long I was out.” He blinks a couple times, and then scratches the back of his head. “I should probably get back to the Academy, huh, Raikou Arashi?” Still yawning, Ryouta began heading back into the forest, towards the Academy. After about 15 minutes, he notices that he hasn’t heard any animal sounds in the past couple of minutes. He stroked the hilts of his Zanpakutō. “What do you think, Raikou Arashi? Something’s up, probably.”
There is a sound of heavy breathing, drooling, then, the telltale growl of a Hollow. A roughly humanoid Hollow drops down from the treetops; it resembles a monkey in both body and mask, only, it looks to be at least 250 lbs. “Crap, I am not in the mood for this.” Ryouta regards the Hollow with a bored expression on his face. “I don’t suppose you’d be all right with just letting me by?” The Hollow growls and takes a step forward. “No? Sure you won’t reconsider?” It just takes another step closer. Ryouta sighs. “Have it your way.” He himself begins backing away slowly, but raises a hand and points a finger at the Hollow and recites, “Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat! …Way of Binding #9- Geki!”
The Hollow was engulfed in red light, completely paralyzed. It roared its frustration. Ryouta approached it calmly. “I told you to leave me alone, and I would’ve left you alone. Now it looks like I have to do my duty.” He unsheathed one of his ninjato and almost carelessly slashed the Hollow’s face in half. As he sheathed his Zanpakutō, he watched the dust of the Hollow disappear upward. “I hate to say it, but I told ya so.” Whistling, Ryouta continued on his way back to the Shinigami Academy.
