Racing around (Yuriko)

Sakumara is right now breezing through the obstacle course passing by just about all of the other students. This was the place where he was the best. No one could beat him at being fast, it was just his thing. He loved the feeling of the wind rushing past him and just plan running it was like his own little retreat from the world around him. This obstacle course was a breeze and he was about half way through it for the third time while some were just starting their second, others were still on the first, and he wasn’t sure about anybody else.

Sakumara ducked and weaved around and under moving and still objects, never hitting a thing. He was starting to get bored the course he’d memorized and nobody that he knew of could or even wanted to challenge him at any sort of race, it was a shame really, the last person to race him and he’d given the guy half the race head start and still won.

Sakumara mentally shrugged and re-focused on the course.

Right as he refocused a girl it seemed jumped in front of him she must have been right behind me the whole time because he hadn’t seen her when passing the others. She must have also been crowded with tall people from the start because he didn’t remember seeing such bright hair. He had passed her again, going full speed once again.

They went for a few more seconds and he could hear her right on his tail, her breathing was ragged. He could tell she was trying to push herself past her limits. He hoped that she would catch up or pass him, but that didn’t happen. She tripped and fell her hand clipped his heel sending his body into a dive.

As he hit the ground he let his body roll with the fall, knowing that it would lessen the impact. The fall still hurt like crap. He kept going for a second or two before he felt it was a safe enough speed to get up while still rolling. Once up he steadied himself and turned around to see the girl stopped behind him laying on the ground.

He saw that instead of going with the fall she tried stopping it, with her hands too. There were scrapes on them and she was crying, whether from the fall or not ‘winning’. He felt bad. She had tried her hardest and this was her reward. ‘This isn’t right.’

He jumped over to her and bent down placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Hey are you alright?” She must have been semi knew cause she didn’t look familiar.

Some students passed them, but he didn’t care he knew he was faster than them.

Sakumara saw the petit pink haired girl look up at him and for a second he thought he saw admiration or something,but it quickly changed to fear. she got up like she was on fire she ran off a few feet and then turned around and ran towards the bathroom. 'that was wierd' he decided to go and wait by the door. their sensei wasnt paying atention so by the time he turned around he would probably presume that he was finished.

'i hope shes ok. she seemed sad and also fast... cute too' he blushed just a bit at that. but quickly put that thought aside. 'i can't think like that she got hurt and is crying. hope she's ok...' he thought slightly worried.

He saw her walk out holding a paper towel pressing it with both hands. She saw him and immediately hung her head.

After hearing her he wanted to make her feel better, it was something born into him. He always felt the need to make anyone feel better since he was young and it hasn’t gone away. “Naw it’s ok. One it happens and two I already know I’m faster than them.” Waving the apology off. “But what about you are you ok? That fall seemed like it hurt.”

The girl in front of him seemed shy, but that was alright. Maybe he could become friends with her. She’d be his third one, well 2 1/2, he still wasn’t to sure about Darknight.

He saw her blush and thought 'aww she looks pretty cute, kinda like a teddy bear.' He decided to mess with her some, but only in good nature.

Putting his hand her forehead 'are you feeling ok? I hope your not sick.' his face was concerened, but there was joking humor in his eyes. He was going to mess with her like a friend would to try and lighten the mood.

When his hand had touched her forehead she flinched. She looked pretty scared too.

He took his hand away from her, 'I hope I didn't do anything to upset her.' "I'm sorry if I upset you just now. Just trying to be nice is all."

Sighing and leaning back against the wall behind him, he hung his head, hair covering his eyes. He knew he just made someone feel really uncomfortable without thinking, again. He knew the awkward silence was coming it always did when something like this happened. He didn't know what to say and they felt weird, uncomfortable, then they usually left and ignored him. How it usually went.

He looked up at her hoping she wouldn't go and ignore him, but that's what usually happens.

Sighing Sakumara went and followed her out the door as well. There really wasn't much to do here. 'There goes another chance... oh well.'
