| Yuriko sat on her red and white picnic blanket under a large shady tree. It was lunchtime and once again she was eating alone, she hadn't made many friends at all in the four years she'd been training here at the academy. She sat down and opened her basket to find that all her food was missing. The basket had a small strap with a tiny golden lock on it which kept the other students out when she was in class. It seemed that some one had cut the strap with a knife and taken all her food, the used napkins and an empty soda bottle were all that were left inside.
Her stomach began to grumble as she sat there without any food. She sighed and closed the basket, leaning her back against a tree and waiting for lunch to be over so she could go back to class. If only she could make one friend at the academy, maybe she wouldn't feel so much like a freak here...

| Apollo decided to actually join the rest of the students for lunch, the weather was nice out and the sun was warm against his face. The trees were in full bloom, and everyone seemed to be off in their own little group, I hate large groups, to many people to take on if you piss the wrong one off.
Spying one student off towards the edge alone Apollo made his way over, to the girl. When he reached the shade of the tree his dark eyes took in the scene with a quick sweep. The strap on her basket was broken, either torn or cut while the contents were gone. A polite smile masked his anger towards the situation, “So…either you were so hungry you couldn’t be bothered to use the key to the basket, or someone stole your lunch.”
Tilting his head to one side Apollo chuckled “Though judging from the look on your face I would say it’s the latter of the two.” Sitting down across from the girl Apollo, pulled his lunch out of his sleeves and divided among the two, it wasn’t much though it was better than nothing. “I’m Apollo Darknight, by the way, who are you?”

| Yuriko was startled by the man's sudden appearance. She had begun to rest her eyes to help pass the time allowing him to approach without her noticing. She hugged her knees, peering over the top of them to watch him as he spoke.
He began to smile as he spoke. Her stomach growled as the man mentioned her stolen lunch. He chuckled and sat down across from her. He pulled out some food and handed half of it to the girl, introducing himself in the process. The girl's face blushed a bit, grateful that he was offering her some of his lunch though embarrassed that he had to do so. He took the food and attempted a smile. "I'm Yuriko Yagami, nice to meet you."
She slowly began to eat the food as she continued to watch the man. He seemed nice but not many boys were actually nice to her, there was a chance that there could be mud in the food or something. It tasted good, which slightly surprised her. Why was this boy being so nice?, she wondered.

| The pink-haired girl sat quietly eating as Apollo did the same enjoying the feeling of the sun. “You don’t talk much do you, little one? Are you mute or just shy?” Apollo not being all that hungry pushed the rest of his lunch towards the girl, keeping only the apple.
Biting into the apple Apollo studied the girl, “I have to ask what are you doing at the shinigami academy? I mean I don’t mean to be rude, but you look a little…frailer…than the other students around here.

| Yuriko began to blush, she didn't feel comfortable around new people and now he was asking her questions. She accepted the food and continued to eat, pausing after a moment to reply. It'd be rude not too...
"I was told that I had spiritual powers so I came to train them I guess." That's what she told herself but in fact she didn't fit in anywhere else. It was more or less the only route available to the poor girl. She returned to the food, hoping she'd be able to finish it before her stomach growled again.

| Apollo smiled happy that the child decided to participate in the conversation, though she quickly went back to the food. “It’s all right, you can take your time and eat, if you’re worried about any of them trying to take what you now have, they won’t bother you. I doubt any of them would even come within earshot.” Apollo paused to look over his shoulder as he took a bite out of his apple. “You see I kind of got a tendency to be called crazy, I took on the squad 11 captain in a hand-to-hand dual; mind you I got my ass handed to me, but still I had the gall to keep getting back up.”
“So does this happen often? Them taking your lunch?” Apollo reached over and picked the empty basket up from the ground and inspected it closer, the latch was completely broken and had been done so on purpose. “I can take a dive if you want, students see you take me on and they won’t mess with you anymore. Well the extremely stupid would, but well you can’t fix stupid.”

| Yuriko nodded in response to his question of whether or not this happened often, in truth it was a weekly occurrence. The girl began to feel a bit more nervous around the man as he began to use profanities, she was not used to hearing them in normal conversation. Though they were used often whenever some one was making fun of her...
When Apollo asked if she'd like for him to take a dive in a fight so that it looked like she was some one not to mess with, she shook her head. She did not like violence, in fact she only fought so that she'd be able to defend herself should a time come when that'd be necessary. "No thank you, but-" She stopped herself, she was about to ask if the man minded walking around with her to get to know him a bit better but she decided against it. He probably didn't want to be seen walking around with a little pink haired freak...

| Apollo nodded his head politely as the girl declined his offer to fake a fight, though she seemed to want something else. Maybe I could ask her to come assist me in the library, the task is big enough for a dozen or so and I am only one person. Finishing the apple Apollo stood and tossed the core into the brush.
“Well then, how about you come help me do some research in the library, if anything I would love to have the company. “ He smiled offering the girl a hand up, “You know people start looking at you weird when you talk to the books you are searching. Trust me it’s not worth the looks either, the books never answer back directly.” His smile never faded as patiently waited for the young girls answer when suddenly something dawned on him. “I never did catch your name, or is that a secret you wish to keep? There is a strange power in name; you have to be careful who you give them out to.” He added cryptically

| Yuriko was surprised to hear the man offer to take her with him the the library, it sounded like fun. She accepted his hand and stood up, looking up at his face she noticed how pale his skin was and how very tall and wiry he was. It was kind of strange, though so was pink hair...
She blushed as the man asked her once more for her name, she must've said it too quietly before. Or maybe her mouth was full of food! She couldn't remember! "I, uh. I'm, My name is Yuriko. Yuriko Yagami sir!" She bowed fairly low to the ground, trying mostly to hide her blushing face. She'd gone from nervous to completely embarrassed in only a few short seconds.

| Apollo only continued to smile as he helped Yuriko to her feet, “Thank you for deciding to join me Yuriko, you have no idea what it has been like not being able to go to combat training. I was told not to do any fighting until the medical wing gave me an okay; they’re worried the Squad 11 captain may have broken a few of my ribs when she kicked me through a tree.”
Leading Yuriko towards the massive library was simple enough; even without his sword students still gave him a wide path. Some of the people murmured in hushed voices as he quickly towards the library complex.
As soon as he entered the library Apollo started weaving between rows slowly making his way towards the center of the library. “Sometimes this huge library can be very intimidating, other times aggravating when it won’t give you what you need.” After one last turn the rows gave way to a small little clearing with a table filled with books piled helter-skelter all over it. Apollo’s Sword was laid across the top of two of the piles. Hastily written notes were scattered all over the small clearing.
Looking at Yuriko he gave her an apologetic look, “Sorry about the mess I was a little frustrated before I decided to come outside for a break. I have spent two weeks hunting down certain bits of information and today I came across something that made me realize I went full circle.” Walking around he began to pick up a few of the pages on the floor.

| Yuriko leaned over the table, looking at the titles of the books. Most of the subjects were unknown to her, some even in a foreign language. She was impressed at how much he seemed to be dedicated to whatever it was he was studying. As she made her way around the literature-strewn table, she tripped over one of the legs. The two piles propping up the man's zanpakuto wobbled but remained structurally-stable overall... She fell to the ground, a book or two falling on top of her. She stood up quickly, obviously embarrassed of her clumsiness. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She shouted, picking up the couple books and placing them back on one of the piles.
"Are you sure you want me here? I'm only going to get in your way..."

| Apollo was still cleaning his papers off the floor when he heard Yuriko trip turning he eyed his awkwardly placed zanpakuto as it teetered at the top of the two piles of books. Rushing over Apollo helped Yuriko into the chair with a sympathetic smile, “its okay you don’t have to keep saying you’re sorry because there is nothing to forgive. If you want to help out you could look for a certain book in this pile it has certain symbols written on the cover.” Shuffling through his papers Apollo searched mumbling to himself.
“Well I did have a drawing of those symbols, but I seemed to have lost them.” Setting down his papers he lifted another pile and flipped through them still not finding the drawing he sat it down and grunted in frustration. Yanking down the neck of his robe he exposed the two symbols burned above his heart, “If you find any books in with this symbol please let me know, it may hold something that could trigger my memory. You see I had the keeper of this library bring any books with the mention of shadowhunters to me and have worked the last two weeks sorting through them and have barely made a dent.”
“Of course you don’t have to help, but if not a different voice than mine would be welcomed.” Apollo smiled and turned away picking up the books she had knocked off and placed them back on the table, then turned to finish picking up the papers strewn across the floor.
