Interrupting Class (Apollo please)

Kaiyo had just been wandering around the Academy; she had a few forms that needed signing for her most recent squad member. Having finished her business, the short blonde girl had taken her turn to simply wander the Academy grounds; it was common practice for squads that liked to hand-pick their members. Kaiyo was walking with a particular bounce in her step today, feeling oddly vitalised by her new blue headband, the Captain's various real world bracelets jingled with each step she took. Her blue eyes glazed over with thought, and scanning the various fights occurring. A few classes had eve decided to brave the cold weather. A fault of the approaching season; a open and clear sky but a chilling breeze that followed it. Kaiyo wasn't too bothered about the weather, she had been fortunate enough to be walking against the breeze; allowing her blonde hair to be swayed backwards into place.

The many fields and arena's that surrounded her walk were scattered with the brightly coloured robes of Academy students. Pausing to watch a vaguely interesting spar, Kaiyo's ears twigged to an all too familiar noise. The sound of air being forcefully pushed out of someone's lungs. It was rare the Academy let students fight hand to hand outside, or un-supervised. Given the exact timings, the classes had taken a short break. Kaiyo twisted around on the ball of her foot, following her fox like hearing as her eyes lead her to a small collection of blue and white robes, just across the path, near a large oak tree. A few other students were nearby, training, or watching quite helplessly. Another breeze picked up her haori, flapping it loudly against her uniform as the next move was made. That was all she needed to see.

As quickly at Kaiyo had watched the attack, she had appeared amidst it. Grabbing tightly onto the thrown fist as she twisted the guys around behind his back, kicking at his back foot to make him loose balance. The girl twisted around and pushed the guy heavily against the tree. Littering a few leaves onto the collection of Academy students. Four in total. The student moved to fight back almost instantly, wincing as Kaiyo pushed his face harder against the tree with ease. 'So since when did the Shinigami Academy start letting three guys beat up one?!' she snapped. Letting go of the attacker as she turned around to the other students. All seemingly paralysed with fear. To her at least, the situation had been fairly obvious. The guy on the ground had just been unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end. Kaiyo's gaze tilted back up to the 3 who had been watching; sneering even. 'Aren't you going to help him up?' she asked slowly, her eyes dropping to the student on the floor. The three students nodded in unison, scrambling down to help up their new friend. Kaiyo's eyes held an unusual coldness to them, a quick glance to the floor and the girl spoke again. 'ya know if you guys wanted to try three on one, i'd be happy to take those odds'. There was something about such an act that made Kaiyo possibly too angry, too annoyed. Still, it wasn't nice. Kaiyo's hand whipped backwards and grabbed onto the attacker who hadn't dare move, dragging him forwards into her line of sight. Stepping closer to the students as she smiled slightly. 'I really hope you're not trying to get into a squad anytime soon'

Kaiyo's head tilted to the right of the hassle, watching with mild interest as what she could only assume was the rest of the class returned. Teacher and everything. Oh this would just be fun. The woman in question was fairly tall, and carried a certain cold air with her stride. She seemed quite young, but age was a tough one in Soul Society. Kaiyo let out a small sigh as the woman came closer; her class of students sheepishly following behind.

Apollo could feel the air driven out of his lungs as the punch landed right into his gut. “Is that all you got? Even three on one you cant manage to make me one of the quiet ones, like these two goons you have holding my arms.” That was a mistake he realized as the two holding his arms wrenched them in opposite directions.

The leader of the group got right up to Apollo’s face so as to make sure that he could hear him as he spoke. “You are new here so I am going to cut you some slack, but you won’t be showing me up in our sparring match you understand? You are going to take a dive, so that I will look good in front of those who might be scouting for squads. If you don’t Apollo well me and my friends are going to have to break you.”

“Lance was it? What’s the matter can’t take a first year in a sparring match? Are you so scarred that you have to have two of your pals hold me…Because that isn’t going to save that face pretty boy.” With that Apollo drove his head forward and smiled as he felt his forehead make solid contact with Lance’s nose.

Apollo was ready for the punch that was sure to follow when he was thrown to the ground. The goons were moving to help there leader, As loyal as dogs, who had been thrown into a tree by small girl dressed in white.

Scrambling to his feet Apollo watched as the instructor and the rest of the class joined in the arena. Without thinking he walked back to the captain and turned to face her as he bowed, “Thank you Captain, I am sorry to trouble you with a simple fight especially when it was unnecessary. No offense to you, but I had the situation under control…I may be a first year student but I am no stranger to battle…or at least my instincts aren’t.”

The woman pursed her lips together as she approached Kaiyo, her mind clearly working overtime to get a full grip of the situation. Kaiyo always found it a bit awkward when the teachers at the Academy addressed her so formally, especially seeing as the majority of them still scared the living daylight out of the girl. Rubbing the back of her neck slightly, the short girl avoided eye contact from the woman. Not even listening to what she had to say, though she'd pretty much caught the basic of what had happened. 'Lance my office now! Bring you're fuckin groupies as well... Captain Saiyouko i'd appreciate your presence this afternoon as well. Class dismissed' she snarled, offering a formal salute to the Captain first of course; before dragging along the three unlucky students.

Kaiyo smirked slightly as the Lance guy stumbled behind the teacher, concussion was a bitch. Turning her attention back to the other guy. Kaiyo stared quite blankly at the student. Eventually rolling her eyes before she spoke. 'Dude, i just saved or ass; that situation was not under control. If you can fight fine, don't let yourself get picked on so much...Or just don't lose' she smiled lightly. Her eyes lingering on the student for a second. It was unusual for her to be addressed so comparatively casually. Kaiyo wasn't being aggressive or rude, she was just saying her genuine response, that she cared.

“I don’t lose, not to them anyway.” Apollo stared at the captain trying to keep a straight face as he was forced to look down upon her. “Besides if it would have been the other way around it would be me going to the office for putting three students into the infirmary. Of course now I will have to do something otherwise everyone will think I let a kid win my fights for me.”

Turning Apollo made his way back to the tree where he had tossed his sword before the fray, picking it up he spoke to himself not caring whether or not the captain heard. “Why did you take the form of a khopesh? Uhhh what’s the use I can’t here you yet anyway.”

Angry with himself Apollo slipped into his arrogant sarcastic state as he turned to face the captain once more, “Next time don’t help me, last thing I need is a kid following me around winning my fights for me. Tell you what I always repay my debts so come find me when you want something taken off the top shelf, okay?.”

Kaiyo stared in mild disbelief at the ungrateful student. A bare-faced lie; that he didn't lose, because from what she'd seen, his chances of suddenly winning were pretty slim. Still, Kaiyo's patience was very quickly running out with this guy. Most people would have just said thank you. Kaiyo leant her body weight onto one of her legs, bending the other as she crossed her arms.

Dropping her face the girl smirked as Apollo went back to pick up his sword, shaking her head lightly before he turned back around. Looking straight up into the guys eyes as he turned back around. Kaiyo wasn't exactly known for her great patience, but this guy just seemed like he was trying to piss her off.

About to just turn away and leave, the twist in her foot stopped. Kaiyo had until then tried at least to be pleasant. Taking a small step forwards, Kaiyo looked straight up at the guy. 'Hey!' she snapped. Pushing her flat palm forwards and straight into the guys chest; not with too much power, but enough to just knock him back a few paces. 'Some people might show the 11th squad Captain a bit more respect but next time, i'll let you get your ass handed to you by a bunch of losers, keep telling yourself you're choosing not to fight back and you'll be fine!' Kaiyo glared for a lingering moment before turning away to leave. Pausing, she glanced back around and snarled, 'And my being short, affects nothing'

I am really going to regret this, but it should be fun. Apollo stared at the captain as she walked away, balancing a rock on the top of his foot he flung it at the captains back. Why am I doing this? “It doesn’t matter to me or not if you are a captain, you especially should recognize a fight for the sake of, and a fight for one’s honor.”

Drawing his blade, Apollo smiled at the ghostly sensation of comfort that came from the hiss of the blade against the scabbard. “Why don’t I show you how well I can fight and then you can judge if I was getting my ass handed to me or if I just chose to wait for the right moment to strike?”

Relaxing Apollo fell into a familiar lithe posture as he held his blade relaxed in his left hand, I feel so at home in this stance, like I have done this so many times my body knows what to do before my mind does. Apollo caught flashes of himself dressed strangely, with another man attacking him with a large sword as he dodged left and weaved right between the blade, when he had pressed his knife to the man’s throat they both broke out in laughter. He shook his head, “What was that? Was that me…Errr…forget it I am Apollo that is all I need to know.”

Kaiyo twisted around, Fanning her right leg outwards as she turned; kicking the rock away in a fluid motion. Kaiyo smiled in disbelief as the man spoke, 'But you weren't fighting!' she yelled back. The Captain shook her head side to side as Apollo unsheathed his blade. That familiar breeze returning with a bitter chill that threw up the the tied ends of her headband as it passed. This guy was crazy thinking he had any chance of beating a Captain.

The girl was unsure why he cared so much, though really she was a little too annoyed to think on that matter for any length of time. Still, she didn't touch her own blade, she didn't need it to kick the crap out of this chump. Her muscles tightened out of instinct, preparing her body for combat when something weird happened. Kaiyo wasn't exactly sure what, but there was definitely something wrong with Apollo. Starting to feel a bit sorry for the soul, who seemed to be losing his on grip of reality, the girl stood up straight. 'Apollo...What the fuck is wrong with you?' her voice was calmer this tine, though still quite aggressive.

“It was nothing, just memories that are best left forgotten…and don’t think your faux concern is going to make me stop.” Apollo sprang forward like a lion chasing a gazelle. His green eyes glowed with the excitement and adrenaline his body craved. “You shouldn’t tense your muscles like that, you’ll be very stiff in a long fight and if you take a hit wrong you’re going to take more damage than if you are relaxed and flexible.”

Raising his blade at the last moment like he intended to strike he used it to push himself off to the right and up into a tree, where he placed two slashes into the branches above him before jumping into the next tree and repeating the process. As he landed to the left of the captain Apollo drove his blade into the trunk of the tree. “No blades, I want…no I demand you let me earn my honor back in a hand-to-hand match against you.” Oh god I have gone crazy. “Or is the Captain to far above us all to have some fun?”

'Faux concern? Next time i won't fuckin bother asking' the girl cursed inwardly. Close to exploding when he gave her tips on combat, this guy was just asking for it. Kaiyo smirked, her eyes lightly following Apollo as he leapt from tree to tree, 'Trust me this won't be a long fight' was her only response. Kaiyo flash stepped backwards, landing just a few metres from Apollo as he dug his blade into the side of the tree.

Releasing her reiatsu and just killing this bugger would offer a lot of satisfaction, but it was also very likely the same might happen to nearby students. That and the Academy teachers still scared her.till, Kaiyo had the best fighting ability in all of the Gotei 13. Fighting academy students was wrong, especially seeing as they posed about as much threat as human to her. Still, Kaiyo's hand was hovering at the hilt of her blade, rattling gently against her thigh in the breeze. Hand to hand combat? With a student; a walk in the park. 'Too above it? Come on...You just said i was short' she spoke in a fake angelic voice.

Kaiyo rushed forwards, sliding to the floor as she swept her right foot along at Apollo's legs. Twisting her body around onto her hands as she pushed off the floor immediately afterwards, kicking both feet into the guys's sternum. Kaiyo rolled backwards on the floor, turning back to face her opponent with a smirk on her face. 'Come on then, prove you can fight'

Apollo felt the feet of the rather vertically challenged captain drive into his sternum, letting the air out of his lungs so as to absorb the impact he flung himself backwards. “What, thought I couldn’t take a hit?” Apollo gasped forcing his voice to stay level.

The truth was he could already feel the bruise forming from where the kiddo had kicked him. Looking at the surroundings briefly he smiled as he straightened to his full height. I just got have to take one or two more hits, but they have to be on my terms. Backing his way against one of the trees he had slashed earlier Apollo grinned. “Hey what’s wrong with you kiddo I am still standing, can’t a captain shut an academy student up or are you trying to turn the eleventh squad soft?” Hopefully she hits me into the tree, it might not stop her but it will give her a nasty surprise with branches falling on and around her.

Apollo rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath as he prepared for her next attack, I am really going to regret this tomorrow if I can move.

Kaiyo smirked at the cocky response, it was fairly clear the guy was in pain. Still, the constant goading was getting annoying. 'Heh, lets see how soft you are instead shall we?' she smirked. Kaiyo appeared in front of the guy, thrusting her right hand upwards against his nose. The girl twisted around at her hips, swinging her left foot strongly against Apollo's hip. Taking a short step in closer, Kaiyo twisted around to the other side, keeping her leg horizontally as she push kicked Apollo through the bottom of the tree. Not too fazed by the branches that rattled down on top of her. Kaiyo rolled to the side, avoiding the first log before she leapt into the air. Sliding past the second and punting the last one right towards Apollo.

The other tree branches scattered around where she stood. As if a mere tree could stop a Captain. Kaiyo stood still for a second. Waiting for the response. The girl flicked her head back, allowing her blonde hair to sway back into position; helped along by the chilling breeze of the day. Kaiyo doubted the academy would miss a few trees. Chances were the guy would definitely need some medical attention and Kaiyo planned on taking him as soon as he apologised...Or said something to that extent.

Apollo laid on his back as he fought back his frustration, "I can't believe a mere child beat me, I am a disgrace even in death. I died a worthless death in life and now I deserve nothing more in this life." Forcing himself up on his feet Apollo glared at the blonde captain, "I have two questions for you captain, first what is your name? and Second can you kill me so that I won't disgrace this institute with my presence?"

Apollo dropped to his knees barely able to stay conscious If it wasn't for my pride I would make a soldier of the likes that has never been seen...someone told me that a long time ago, but who? "Please forgive my pride, I don't guess I am used to having anyone look out for me, except for myself." Apollo coughed as he doubled over blood splattered on the ground.

Kaiyo rolled her eyes slightly at the last snide comment. A mere child? The title itself was almost laughable, but the guy was clearly new. Pride was fine by Kaiyo, as long as it never got in the way of respect. Still as the guy pushed himself up onto his feet, Kaiyo twitched forwards to help him. Remaining where she stood for a moment longer, to answer his last two questions. 'I'm Kaiyo Saiyouko, Captain of the 11th squad, and I don't kill innocent souls'.

Kaiyo sighed lightly as Apollo fell back onto his knee's, coughing blood all over the ground. Guilt slid along her conscious; hot-headed captain strikes again! Kaiyo dropped down in front of Apollo, crossing her legs gently as she spoke. Her voice calmer and her expression softer, a faint smile even playing along her pink lips. 'Look, i'm Sorry, but you're gunna have to change how to talk to people, and maybe trust them a bit more...Because from i saw of you're fighting ability, you're definitely not a disgrace' Kaiyo smiled widely, re-assuring the assailant.

Kaiyo sighed lightly, titling her own head forwards in the brief silence that followed. Ruffling her hand through her hair to give it her favourite slightly messy look the girl jumped back up to her feet. 'Come on, medical bay time i think...Don't take this the wrong way okay?' she added. Reaching forwards as she slung Apollo gently over her shoulder, flash stepping in a single pace into the Academy Medical wing. 'It's just quicker' she finished, laying Apollo down on the bed as took a tentative step backwards. Allowing the healers to begin their work.

Apollo was about to protest when Captain Saiyouko picked him up, but it was too late. He was already in the medical wing, “I didn’t stand a chance against that speed, did I?” Glancing up Apollo stared at the depressingly white tiles that made up roof, “I am Apollo Darknight, by the way…”

Forcing himself to sit up on the edge of the bed Apollo grimaced “…and if you would allow it I was wondering if you could mentor me in the art of combat. Which you clearly are familiar with, and I could teach you how to channel that anger so as not to put me into the infirmary; or to avoid trees because that really must be annoying.”

Suddenly his eyes went wide, “My sword, I left it in the other tree, I have to get it before another student tries to retrieve it. They try to pull that blade out that other tree is coming down on top of them.” Looking at the captain he nearly laughed, “Not very many ‘students’ can blow away a tree with their spiritual pressure.”

Standing up Apollo managed to stumble to the door, fighting back the pain. “Captain, just so you know one day I am going to challenge you to a rematch and the roles are going to be reversed; thought I would let you know so that you could tell the 4th squad to get you a step stool to get down from the bed.” Apollo grinned hoping she would take it only as a light joke, because he didn’t think he could take another hit.

Kaiyo shrugged complacently, smirking as she spoke with a humorous tone, 'Well you get points for tryin'. Kaiyo shuffled back a few paces so that she could lean against the wall. The whole situation felt a little odd if she honest; sitting by the bedside of the person she'd beaten up because what, he didn't thank her properly? She shook her head to rid such thoughts from her mind, her hair flicking softly against the side of her face. Kaiyo glanced back up to see Apollo pushing himself off his bed.

The girl lunged forwards to help keep him steady, instinctively. Fighting the urge to help him further, Kaiyo backed off. Smiling sincerely as she spoke, ignoring his mention to her own anger issues. 'Sure, swing by the barracks when you get bored'. The avoiding tree part was less of an issue, and really, didn't exactly occur on a regular basis.

Kaiyo gaze Apollo a casual wave as he stumbled out the door. Figuring his ego wouldn't be so keen on her carrying to get his own blade, she left his pride in-tact...Mostly. 'I'll be sure to call the morgue for you as well!' she cheered after him, only slightly ticked off by the short jokes. The Captain turned back around to the nurse and smiled politely. 'Hi, you have access to all students files from here right? Can i get a copy of Apollo Darknight's sent to my office please?' she waited for the sheepish nurse to nod politely to the Captain and rush over to the computer. 'Thanks, i owe ya one' she chimed. Turning to make her way back to Apollo's teacher's office, that would make for a fun talk now.
