Admins:Luka, Izaya, and JackFor a brief summary, this is based in a zombie-like apocalypse that came from experiments on people, those experiments giving birth to the zombie-like virus. I know, this brief intro sounds lame... though this is for those who do not want to read huge blocks of text. For further information, read the actual description. This world, is like your modern world, Earth, as it is now only futuristic - humans, cars, people with strange urges to murder others with spoons, and all that stuff that makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
What's so special about it?
For thousands of years, people have always wanted supernatural abilities - super powers, if you'd call it that. What would you do if you knew it was in your reach through scientific means, only a step away? Up until 2062, this was thought impossible - thought to go against complete logic. This was later proven wrong at September 21, 2062 in Korea by asian scientist Yoru Hanatan.
She had learned how to tap into a dormant part of the human mind - only a shard of it accessible in times of stress or fear, recognized as what we call adrenaline. Through her studies, she discovered how to open the way to tap into this part of the human mind, increasing a strong trait of a human to the extreme. At first, these effects were purely random - if the experiment was great at running, he would have super speed. If one of his strongest traits was his intellect, he would be super smart - his mind would be his own domain, information accessible at only a thought. These two are only a few of the many superpower-like abilities activated.
Of course, everything has a price.
Six years later, researchers that have spent years studying Yoru's science discovered that they can indeed choose what trait they want to increase. This study continued on until scientists figured out the majority of the drawbacks to the trait increase; upon figuring out why experiments were attacking the scientists and acting violently the entire science was almost dropped.
Almost.
Scientists decided not to release this information to the public, merely banning traits that resulted in the experiments acting violently. A few of the violent acts these experiments were loss of total sanity, an uncanny thirst for blood... even for a few animal morphing experiments the case was cannibalism. For the experiments who had decent side affects, their bodies occasionally broke down on themselves for the fact that their body couldn't handle the extreme amount of power held within. These people were commonly the ones who had extreme strength, or those who were able to use what we'd call 'magic'.
Like all biological things that are alive, these experiments grew. Once upon a time, the experiments began acting out and appearing to react violently, virtually uncontrollable. Further studies on the experiments acting out of control showed that they had grown and developed a virus inside of them, that reacted with their own blood once their traits were activated. The virus attacked their minds; it made them extremely angry and violent, and also paranoid. As the virus took over the experiment completely or as close to complete as it could, it eventually made them blind and their skin began to decompose, like a corpse.
It wasn't until only a few months later that one of the experiments bit a scientist. Scientists assumed they were safe from the virus, due to the fact that they did not have any experimentation of this study preformed on them.
They were wrong.
Think of zombies: after they had died from being bit by the infected experiment, they seemed to "come back alive" ... only they didn't act human at all, and were extremely violent. The only difference with the virus on regular humans was that the humans found a craving for life; they were drawn towards it, and how they tried to attain it was through cannibalism. The virus spread quickly, taking ultimate place in their brain; infected humans bit other humans, and the cycle was spread like a wild fire in a forest. Humans infected were blinded by the virus before dying, and reacted to sound once infected, again appearing to have no mind of their own.
Now the infection has spread across the world within only two months; will you fight to find a cure?
