Hollow eyes (Asura)

Kaiyo stared blankly at the monitor. It wasn't a pretty sight. The Captain had been sent over to England for a training exercise for her squad. The girl had only opted to take about 20, though the sight of many tall butch men following around a young girl had raised a few eyebrows. Then again, that was only when Kaiyo had decided they deserved the night off. The Captain had been in operations for all of 3 days now. Yesterday was when the shit really hit the fan though. A random influx of hollows had caught a group off guard. Being too far away herself; three of her squad members ended up in the 4th squad barracks just a few hours later. The area had been apparently one of the lowest in hollow appearances, until her squad had arrived.

Kaiyo had spent all morning yelling at the 12th squad for not letting her know in advance what was going on. Nobody knew. The Captain was ordered to finish her training exercise and instead try and discover what had caused the sudden appearance of three Menos in one location. Kaiyo had sent the rest of her squad home. Angered by the whole situation, the Captain slammed her fist onto the desk. Breaking through the wood and watching in anger as the computer smashed onto the ground. Kaiyo rubbed her eyes slowly, she hadn't slept. Restless, the girl grabbed her zanpakuto and made her way outside to patrol. It was night time, the moon was full and the air was cold and harsh.

Asura sits atop a building looking over the roofs. From the performance of those menos earlier, he was quite sure that he would need to gain more power if he wanted to establish his godlike powers. Perhaps if he could eat that one shinigami.. the useless lazy bastard who doesn't even deserve a single thought! but then why? why does he keep reappearing in his mind with that annoying smirk of his. Is this really hate? or is it something more powerful? 'Gods don't bleed' 'Gods are perfect beings', How dare he say that!? If Asura was to ever meet him again, he would surely eat his soul without a single problem. As long as he won't meet him before he has grown in power. And those menos didn't leave anything for him, hell, they didn't leave anything for themselves either. He looks up at the night sky and roars. He is rather angry. However he will have to calm down. If more of those shinigami arrive, and they find him, he might be done for. Some of them looked rather strong, stronger than Asura himself. He stands up, stretching his legs and spreading his wings. His tail moves swiftly in the wind, and his long blood red hair hangs down his back as usual as he glares out over the empty streets.

Kaiyo's head whipped around, the distant howl of a hollow. Maybe? The girl shrugged it off, deciding she was just hearing things. A by-product of her lack of sleep. Kaiyo blinked hard a few times, her own feeble attempt to become more alert.

Her gaze locked with the moon for a moment, in awe of the cool warmth it seemed to radiate, setting a chilled tint to the night sky. Kaiyo lowered her head, watching her own breath seep out into the air. The winter always made things seem scarier.

The Captain flash stepped up to the main shopping area, standing atop the largest roof she could find and staring out into the twinkling street lights. The silence was only making her more annoyed. More angry at why the hell nobody had warned her about the hollows before it was her squad members who were critically injured. The girl clenched her fist tightly, her own reiatsu seeping around her in bright yellow sparks. It was normal for people to assume 11th squad shinigami were easily replaced, but it didn't stop making Kaiyo so angry.

The girl spun around quickly, her anger reaching it's peak as she unsheathed her Zanpakuto, slicing it upwards into the sky as she yelled. 'Denkou Kabe!' The massive golden and yellow wall shot up from her feet, crashing through the air and up into nothingness. The wind whipped around where she stood, bashed around by the compressed energy she'd released. Kaiyo's breathing slowed down, dropping her head as she gripped her blade even tighter.

Her head ached, it really fucking hurt. She hadn't slept for about two days and she really wasn't in the mood for this shit.

Asura looks around the area and then takes off from the roof and begins to soar above the city. He just manages to spot a lone girl walking in an alley as he can feel the spiritual pressure being released. He looks in the direction he felt it from, seeing the pillar of energy. He definitely don't want to go there. Yet.. he feels somehow attracted to it. Someone releasing that much energy must be fighting something big, just like a menos. If so, then he might be able to fly in and steal away the soul. That would help him grow tenfold in power! He flaps his wings, ignoring the sweet smelling girl and flies over towards the roof the pressure was released from. He tries to go at it silently as he flies, however his wings can be heard whenever he bashes them to keep the altitude. His tail is just hanging around behind him, making sure he can keep his balance as he flies. His blood red hair flows down his white and black marked back as he rushes towards the roof.

Kaiyo twisted around again, a rhythmic banging echoed in the distance. It was like being in a bloody horror film here. The girl lowered her gaze, shrugging off her own paranoia. Kaiyo shut her eyes slowly, trying to slow her heart rate. She was just tired, and very jumpy. Fully aware it was in such situations people usually made fatal mistakes, Kaiyo was trying to keep calm. Hell if she knew why she was so on edge.

Kaiyo could feel her heart pounding throughout her body, making her headache seem all that worse. The girl kept a tight grip of her blade in her right hand, turning back around when she finally sensed an incoming hollow. It was low level, nothing to really worry about. Still, Kaiyo was tetchy. So tired her vision wasn't so great, a thundering headache and endlessly worried about making a fatal mistake.

Kaiyo slowly began backing away from the incoming hollow. Moving her Zanpakuto forwards in front of her as she took a tight grip with both hands. Shuffling backwards as she kept her gaze firm. Kaiyo relaxed her stance slightly. Calming herself down.

The girl spun around quickly as a blue streak of light shot through the sky. A quincy arrow. The shinigami's attention flickered between the arrow's origins and the hollow. Chances are the quincy had more to do with her injured squad members. Kaiyo gripped her sword in annoyance. Growling slightly as she turned and ran from the hollow. Leaping across the rooftops to where she thought the quincy might be. Fuelled by rage and no sleep.

Asura follows, the girl he has just noticed, with his eyes and flies after her as she starts moving. He sees the arrow coming and wonders if she had spotted him. He flaps his wings to stay airbourne. He makes sure to stay a fair distance away from the girl, as she obviously had quite a large amount of spiritual energy. Such a delicious smell! But what is she? She's oviously not human. Is she a shinigami? A shinigami who fires arrows? Hmm Could be. Whatever the case, he wants her soul. Let her go to the menos and get beaten so he can devour her just before the menos would ever have a chance to see him. He probably wasn't fast enough for that, but he could do his best! As a god, it is his duty to surpass others! If he cannot even do that.. then that would prove that one shinigami to be right.. Shikuro.. He will soon be eradicated! But first Asura would have to gain strength. And this girl is strong, so for now he would follow her, and see wether or not his plan would succeed.

Kaiyo appeared in a flash behind the quincy. Her unsheathed blade gripped tightly in her hands, a swaying golden hue flickering from the metal as she struck down heavily against the quincy. The man shooting the arrows was responsible. Not even speaking to him Kaiyo could tell. The smell, that putrid smell of death lingered around him, masked by sustained injuries on the man's uniform. He was as good as dead already; in her head at least. Kaiyo's reiatsu was flaring, the pounding intensity of combat hitting her. Her blonde hair flickered around her neck with her movement. The man's crystal white bow only just made it in time, his initial smirk melding into an expression of sheer dread. A few jolts of lightning spread across her blade and onto his bow.

There was a moment, and single and fleeting moment where the two were stationary. Caught in the lapse of colliding energies and holding a firm eye contact. Like staring down an animal, Kaiyo was unflinching in her anger. Then it happened, as quickly as she had appeared, the quincy was thrown backwards. Crumbling through a small building as he hurtled into the wall. The bugger was still alive though, his energy level dwindling already. Kaiyo slowly began wandering towards the torn building. She'd have to dig him out to explain his demise first if all. A one-track mind didn't help in this situation. Neither did her high emotional state, Shikai still sealed away, the clouds were starting to form above. The thick black bellowing around the epicentre of her reiatsu, already sparking jolts of small lightning bolts across the sky.
