Zanjutsu, Conall's style (Solo)

"Good Morning, students." the instructor said, walking back and forth in front of the Conall's class. "Today I will be assessing your skills with a sword. This assessment will determine what level of training you will start out at. Now then, are their any questions?"

"Yes, You." He said, pointing at Conall
"Just one question for now, sir. You said one sword. But what if your better with two?" Conall asked.
"Haha. No one just starting at the academy is good with two blades." the instructor said, chuckling a bit.
"Want to bet?" Conall said, a confident grin on his face
"Excuse me, boy?"asked the instructor, irritated.
Conall cleared his throat, and repeated. "I said, Want to bet, Boyo?"
The instructor picked up a training sword and said "Well class. Looks like we have our first volunteer."
Conall stepped out into the sparring circle, holding two training blades, and grinning he said, "I warn you sir, i'm not going to hold back."
"Neither am-" he was cut off as Conall charged him.

Conall attacks were fast and accurate, but he was attacking with both blade at once, makeing them easier to block. The intructor was having little trouble in defending himself, and counterattacking. Conall grin turned into a sinister smile as he spoke "Ok, warm-ups over, old man."

At that Conalls whole attack pattern changed, He began attacking with one blade from the high right, and striking mid-left with his other blade. An attack the instructor never expected out of a first year student. Conalls blow found its mark and sent his foe stumbleing backwards. Not wanting to loose the initiative, he charged the instructor again, not hearing him say "Enough". Conall had just got withing attack range when the instructor vanished right in front of him. 'what the...?' he thought, and then something hit him in the back of the head. As he turned around, the instructor repeated himself, "I said that was enough." , tapping Conall on the head with the training sword again.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?"
"North District 80"
"Explains alot. Your self taught?"
"Something like that. More like I just be goin withit."
"Advanced Zanjutsu class for you. Good luck, son. Your going to need it."

"Enough. That enough training for one day." the Advanced class instructor said, motioning for the class to leave."Go and get some rest. And Conall, you need to focus more. Your leaving yourself open too much. I know this is your first day, but you have been put into my class for a reason. Tomorrow we'll work of some different styles, to see what your strengths and weaknesses are."

It was the end of day one in the advanced class, and Conall had never hurt this bad. Most of the others in his class were several years ahead of him in the academy. And they were way out of his league. All of them only used one sword, and they took turns trying to prove to him that he'll never make it. But to their shock, Conall kept getting back up and asking for more.

But now the day was over and Conall was limping back to his Dorm. But he was smiling. He had learned a lot in one day, and he was proud of that. 'Tomorrow I'll start teaching those guys that I will surpass them. '

Several weeks had past and Conall's skills had improved significantly. But, today, something was different. All of his fellow classmates had shown up early to class and were waiting for him. The top student, Jin, was there also.

"About time you got here, Connall. Me and the guys here have been talking, and well, we all agree its time for you and me to face off. I could give you some good tips. And, if you do good enough I'll take you under my wing.What do ya say?" Jin said with a mischievous look on his face.

"You really think so, lad. I didn't even think I was able to get through the spar I had yesterday with as few bruises as I did." Conall said looking somewhat surprised at Jin's offer. "If you think I'm ready, lad." Conall said confidently.

They both entered the sparring circle, Conall with his two training sword, and Jin with his one. They took there stances and at the signal, began there fight. Conall charged in, keep both his swords low, and swept them upward. But Jin was faster than Conall had anticipated, and blocked both strikes with ease, and countered with a downward strike. Conall blocked the attack with his left sword, and struck with the right, taking Jin's legs out from under him. Jin hit the ground, and rolled backwards to avoid the downward strike that followed. Jin's roll got him to his feet quickly and he made a horizontal strike that connected with the side of Conall's head, sending him tumbling to the side. He rolled off the training mat

'Damnit' Conall thought when he hit the ground, his vision blurring. When Conall hit the ground, Jin nodded to the other classmates, who all had training swords in their hands.

:: 10 minutes later ::

Conall was laying on the ground in the training room, the rest of the room empty, battered and beaten. 'Damnit. Those bastards tricked me.' he thought as he struggled to get up. He managed to stand, and barely walk out of the room. As he was leaving his instructor was on his way in. They collided, and Conall fell to the ground, everything blacking out.
