It was 10:15 pm and the night life below was alive and in the full swing of things. They called this the city of lights but it was much more than that. This was one of the most populated places on earth and was a common feeding ground for young hollows. Leden had been stationed here just for a few week while the Shinigami who normal watched over this part of the city was recovering from a battle with a gang of hollows. Leden didn’t mind covering for him because he grew up in this city when he was alive. This thought brought him a bitter sweet feeling, on one hand he felt at home here but on the other he felt the sadness of his past.
Leden jumped down off the build he was using as a perch to look out over the city. He landed on the street in the middle of time square. The bright lights made the area seem as if it was day time. Billboards flashed with the latest advertisements and pop culture news. It was the begging of the summer and the streets where flooded with tourist and venders. Leden walked down the street invisible to the humans around him. A few would walk threw him and get a chill and then look around in a mix of shock and fear . Leden cut down a dark alley as he wanted to move quicker downtown.
10:44 and Leden stopped dead in his tracks some 15 blocks from time square. A large reiatsu washed over the area . Leden reacted right away, he jumped in to the air and took off towards the center of such power. As he came closer his heart dropped he could hear screams coming from the heart of time square. He landed on the coca cola billboard and looked down to his horror a large hollow was attacking humans in the center the time square. The hollow was about 17 feet tall and looked like the cross between a bull and snake. He held 3 humans in one hand and was preparing to shove them in to his mouth. The large crowed around the beast was full of mixed emotions some people where cheering and others looked scared. To them it looked like 3 people had just bunched together and started flouting.
Leden had to act fast he flash stepped off the building as he drew closer he drew his Zanpakuto from its shife and sliced thru the hollows arm cutting it off in one clean motions. To the hollow there was a flash of gold light before his arm feel to the ground making an indent in the street below. The 3 people ran free screaming in fear while the crowed started to cheer. The hollow started to laugh as his arm faded away and blood dripped from his stump.
So the rumors where wrong there is still a Shinigami in this part of the city.
Leden flouted in front of him smirking with his Zanpakuto at his side
I guess the rumors about New York City hollows were true …weak and pathetic
The hollow punched Leden his fist was bigger then ledens body and it sent Leden flying in to a large toys r rus crashing in to a fares wheel. The sudden crash scared the onlookers and they went screaming in all directions. Leden coughed the hollow was stronger than he expected. He stood up and looked around at all the sparks from the large ride he crashed in to. He jumped and shot straight out the way he came the hollow was too busy laughing to see leden punch him square across the face. The hollow feel back on to the empty street, there was an expression of shock across his face. He looked up as Leden removed the torn top of his Shinigami robes. His eyes burn with such desire.
Well well …the lil man want to play ruff …so be it
The hollows tail whipped out at Leden only to hit the empty space where Leden was standing. The hollow jumped to his feet. Leden swopped under his tail as came at him again. The hollow opened his mouth and a bright red orb formed. Leden’s eyes grew wide in shock, a cero already. The area became engulfed in a bright red light. As the street was blown apart from the smoke Leden went flying in to the air a huge smile on his face it was time to stop holding back. he stopped mid air and shot down at the hollow as his own Reiatsu exploded .
The hollow looked up and sent his tail out like the sword. He swung it left across the mid section of Leden and then right at his upper chest. Leden dodged the fist strike and blocked the second. Leden flipped upward as the hollow jabbed in at Leden. For several moments all that could be seen was the swinging of the hollows tail and sparks from the contact of Ledens Zanpakuto. As soon as Leden saw an opening he sliced his Zanpakuto out while in mid flip and cutting off the tip of the hollows tail. The hollow screamed out in pain as blood gushed from its tail. He punched out at Leden and hit nothing. Leden flash step close to the hollow and jabbed his Zanpakuto in to the center of the hollows neck and sliced right
Blood flew in all directions to the right of the hollows body as the head of the hollow fell on his left hanging on to other half of his neck. Its large body fell to the grown as it slowly evaporated in to thin air with one last scream. Leden put his Zanpakuto back in its holder. He was covered in hollow blood. He looked around and his jaw dropped. The street was covered in large pot holes from the hollows footsteps on top of that there was a huge hole in the front of toys r rus. The damages where not going to go unnoticed
Wow ….this is not good …best call a clean up
Leden put his finger to his ear and sent a message out to headcounters and took off to continue patrolling the city of lights. It was 1:30 and the city was alive with the hustles and bustles of the nightlife. Leden ran the building tops unaware he was being watched and followed
