| Kaoseu made his way out of Seireitei, fully prepared for what lay ahead. It was a nice day, the sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, and the only sound heard was the rustling of leaves over uneven ground. Kaoseu relished at the peace, knowing it wasn't going to last when he achieved his goal. He made his way to the path in the forest he had taken such a while ago, on another walk for the same purpose. He walked along the winding and crudely cut path, until he saw the rock wall with the indention. He grinned and approached it, then found the crack he had made and slipped through.
He was in a grand cavern that shone with unnatural light, which was cast from a gem of astronomical proportions that hung from the high, domed ceiling. This was one of many gems in the entire network of caves, that gave off their own iridescent light. Kaoseu walked to the center of the space, directly below the chandelier-like gem, and sat down, as he had done before. He closed his eyes and called out with his mind to his Zanpakuto, which he drew from their sheaths and set before him.
He was concentrating, hoping to get a response from his blades. Suddenly, he felt something collide with his head. It was huge, heavy, and smelled of earth. The object picked him up off the ground and drug him with it, slamming him into the ground after about 6 seconds worth of flight time. He pulled himself from around the huge white boulder and grimaced, glaring at the 2 beings in the distance that were obviously breaking down in hysterical laughter. Kaoseu grumbled audibly and picked himself up, dusting the front of his robes off.
He looked up and was face to face with both of the beings. He cried out slightly and stumbled backwards, falling to his rump. This received another round of hoots and hollers from the beings, one black and seemingly made out of some ever flowing, thick, shadowy substance. The other was made of pure, untainted, white energy. Kaoseu growled audibly as he stood up, dusting himelf off once again.
"Back for another round of gettin' ya butt kicked, eh?" said the black being. Kaoseu gave it a slight glare and then a grin broke over his face. "Of course. Why else would I bother tryin' to talk to ya, hm?" he asked, looking from the white being to the black being. "Then yer lesson's with me today, kid. I'm not gonna go easy on ya either, so don' get ya hopes up, ya hear?" it said as it held out a hand into open air as if it were holding something. In it suddenly appeared a black blade, elegantly curved and pointed. Kaoseu marveled at the sight, but the quick movement of the white being as it launched itself at Kaoseu drew him back to reality. Kaose Flash Stepped to the right, just in time.
The blade hit upon blank space and Kaoseu managed to draw one of his blades before the white being altered course and came at him again, full on. The attacks were relentless, and Kaoseu was only barely managing to hold them off. The pattern of attack seemed fierce and Kaoseu was just about to swing low and quick when the pattern changed. It became graceful and smooth as the white being twirled, angling it's blade so that it knocked into Kaoseu's and pushed him back with the spin.
From the spin, the white being leaned forward and lifted one foot, keeping the blade angled, which carried it in a dangerous dance cloer to Kaoseu, then suddenly one of the legs lashed up and out, flipping the being in an elegant twist. The black blade became a blur for a few mere moments, and Kaoseu kept a wary eye on it, waiting for the strike. He recieved it just after the thought, in the form of a foot colliding with the side of his face, sending him flying. The white being must have Flash Stepped, because suddenly Kaoseu saw the being behind him. There was another sharp kick to his back and it sent him into the air.
He gritted his teeth and righted himself in the air, looking down at the being, whom he now decided would just be known as White for now. White disappeared again, and Kaoseu reacted, spinning around and tilting back, blocking the blade that came near to slicing his head off. White laughed gleefully and began hacking away at Kaoseu, knocking him closer to the ground. Finally, White aimed a hit, slammed the blade against Kaoseu's, then kicked him, hard, in the stomach, launching him back to the ground. Kaoseu picked himself up carefully and quickly, drawing his other blade. He decided it was time for him to go on the offensive.
He lunged at White, sweeping high with one blade and thrusting at his middle with the other. The one aimed high was blocked and the one aimed at the middle was dodged for the most part, but cut at White's side, drawing thick, black, blood-like substance. White gave a shrill sounding noise, somewhere between a laugh and a growl. He pointed the blade at Kaoseu and then the shadows around him seemed to become massive waves that collapsed over him. The shadows receded and White had disappeared. Suddenly, Kaoseu felt a sharp stinging and looked around himself, then felt his face and realized he had a cut on his cheek. He looked around warily, trying to ascertain the location of the assault.
Another sharp sting was felt on his other cheek and he whirled around fast enough to see the shadows recede and cath a glimpse of White. He grinned and went in for a closing strike, then suddenly the world was black and he felt a pain at the back of his legs. He collapsed and then light came back to his eyes. White was standing in front of him, the blade back in his hand. There was a silent laugh emenating from within his chest, as Kaoseu could tell by the way it seemed to move. Then a foot connected with his jaw and he was thrown back to where the quick, hopeless battle had started, directly on the divide between the two worlds. "So, what's your special power then?" he asked smugly as he picked himself up and White reappeared standing next to Black, whim Kaoseu had directed his question to.
Kaoseu stood between the 2 and Black said nothing back, just gave Kaoseu a going away present as the world around him began to meld away. Black held up a hand in reverse and lowered all but his middle finger and thumb. Kaoseu scoffed, then grinned as he woke back up, still sitting in his cave. He yawned and stretched his back, then stood up stiffly. He sighed and sheathed his blades, then exited the cave. He walked back to Seiretei, feeling good things about to come. He grinned as he heard a laughter and then a whisper, but it meant nothing to him. All they were were Whispers on the Wind. | |
