Scarlet River (Sho only)

It was destined what today was to be. The death of a soul reaper. The first actual kill by the enigmatic wolf himself. The beast lurked by the river within Karakura town. Those dark orbs forever piercing the darkness but went unnoticed compared to the bounding moonlight. Raikou lurked and shadowed around the bushes as he thought, wondered and began to truly think what it would be like to engulf one of those....Shinigami. Would his power increase? Would something change within him? Or would it end up being just another meal.

That last thought made Raikou sigh deeply. the annoying sight of anything but one of those beings may just anger this being more than help anything. Raikou may happened to even head out on a rampage just out a pure fit of anger from not getting what he wanted for this time. If he happened to get this then he would be in for an incredible fight.

There was no other word for it. Sho sighed as he resigned himself to the fact that being an actual Shinigami wasn't all he figured it'd be cracked up to be. He was now the punching bag, the pack mule, or, as in the case at the moment, the delivery boy. He was in charge of taking a few things to a Shinigami he'd heard much about, Kaoseu Enjel, the same one that had fought with Kaiyo and the first rate Shinigami Ri O'Nocht.

The package consisted of medical supplies, food, and a few test materials and a catalogue sort of form, asking questions about some new Mod Soul Pill. Sho shook the thoughts from his head when he felt something ominous and angry in the air around him. He listened as he drew his blade, but all he heard was the gurgling river he was passing, and all he saw were two large fireflys moving in sync a little ways off. He kept on guard though, still having a feeling in the pit of his stomach he was being watched, or, of all things... hunted.

The river was to flourish with the blood of that pathetic soul reaper. Something about him was off however. Something within his zanpaktou. There would be time to examine that particular item after this foolish man's death. Further rustling went on until a loud howl came from the bushes near the river bank. A shadow passed over up the hill then around the man consistently . At that rate the most that could have been seen or noticed was Raikou's silhouette and those ruby orbs. Tis was only because it was dark and gloomy out. His form only passing through the moonlight's glint once or twice.

The spiritual pressure pounded down around the area that emanated form Raikou himself. The Reiryoku that was building up within his stomach and claws were the things that caused this. "Easy prey..." Raikou said. The beast then pounced once he saw the right moment, just as he got behind the boy. His claw pounded down to the the man once stood and once he landed, his tail followed his movements and slammed hard onto the grass. Whether the lad dodged or not was surely up to his decision.

Sho was quiet, barely breathing. A piercing howl echoed through the night, close by. Suddenly Sho noticed the firefly's glow wasn't natural... they were ruby colored. He cursed as rustling seemed to come from all around him and Reiatsu built in the air, but not by him. Then he felt it. The presence of a Hollow was overwhelming, he was surprised he hadn't noticed it. It was only then that he realized that they were eyes, not fireflies. Realizing he was late, he dove to the side as the fireflies went erratic in their movement, then disappeared. He was just in time as a large claw smashed into the ground where he was barely a second ago.

He hefted his blade up, adrenaline pumping, as the moon came from behind the clouds for a few moments, illuminating the scene. What he saw was the form of a huge wolfish creature that towered over him. He gulped, slightly afraid, but beat back his fear as he took resolve. He'd die here, if he had to, but wasn't going down without a fight. He held his blade with both hands, angled towards the Hollow, but with 2 fingers pointing down his blade, using it to aim as he whispered to himself, "Hado number 4, White Lightning!" and cast the kido directly at the Hollow's face as he neared and swung his blade directly after, aiming at the Hollow's left foreleg.

The ground was having a daring yet light upheaval once that claw came in contact with it. A dark breath that sighed of manifesting Reiryoku within the beasts stomach signaled something else, something knew. A darker and furthermore tainted essence that these so called Shinigami have been trying to contain. So long, so very long has he not been able to show this side of him. So many events going on that restricted himself. Now was the time to let the beast out in its entirety.

The moonlight's glint now hit the heaving dust and grass from the collision between the beast and the ground. One claw was covered in dust whilst the others shined brightly within the ivory light. "Idiot..." Raikou mumbled as he pushed off to the side once he heard that deadly incantation go off. The lightning ripped its way through the ground and across the water to the other side. Quite a deadly attack it was as it would have been the end to this brave wolf. "Something is odd about you..." Raikou stated as he jumped back in order to dodge the attack to his foreleg.

The intense sense of Reiatsu around Raikou continued to bound from wall to wall. "Boy...I figure...today is your final day alive..." The wolf smirked and bowed his head up and thrusted it down. A light violet tinted beam known as "Sombra Raya" came forth from the beast's maw. A large bounding howl came during this.

Sho cursed to himself as he realized he had missed his target. He whirled around to face the wolf-like Hollow that stood before him. As he turned he swung his blade, only then to have the Hollow's words hit home as it's head came down and a violet ray shot from its mouth. Sho had little time to react and jumped up and back, trying to avoid it. Sadly, he failed to do soin an entirety. The blast caught his left leg full on below the knee, severing that part of the extremity entirely, leaving not a trace of it. Sho let out a bloody scream filled with pain as his body kept pumping blood through empty space, leaking it onto the already sodden ground. He was losing too much blood, but he'd fight til his last breath.

His vison was hazy as he lifted himself from the ground and faced the wolf head on. He was already whispering in such a low voice, almost he couldn't hear it. "Burn of the blades that have been lost... Hado Number 8, Blade of Flames..." The fiery blade erupted to life in his hand, and he took in a deep breath as he positioned it, hilt up, at the center of the severed limb. Then, he rammed the hilt of the blade into the stump and a scream of utter pain tore through his throat. He was sweating profusely as he stood up shakily, the blade digging into the ground a bit. He shuddered, feeling his kidneys shut down, and his stomach beginning to follow. He screamed in rage and pain as he rushed the Hollow, blade at the ready, his life already ebbing away.

What a vacuous act that was being performed by this male. He was charging at a wolf -- let alone a hollow with a basic fire sword as a leg. What did he plan to do?! Slash him with a kick? That would most certainly be a funny sight, yet it cannot be. This Shinigami must perish and meet the river. The charing fool was only met with the wolf doing the same. Its claws digging deep into the ground then pushing off as if he was to bash right into the male's chest. Sadly, that was not going to happen.

Raikou got a foot or two in front of the male; those piercing crimson eyes glared into his own for a moment. His own imminent death was foreseen through that event. The fear that Raikou was trying to send into the male was exponential. However, that was for only a single moment; The wolf side stepped and got behind the male then pounced. His claws were aiming for the middle of the male's spine and his dagger-like teeth were to rip deep into the foolhardy man's jugular only to be ripped out soon after contact along with a set of deep claw marks running throughout the lining of his back, if it was made.

The way Raikou did pounce however was odd. He lead the boy to the river and crashed him in there -- or was aiming for that prize. The moonlit water would soon turn red with the blood of the Shinigami. Ravenous growling and shrieks were the things that would most likely fill the night air. What is to become his fate?

Sho was no match for the Hollow's speed. His blade swung on open air as his depth of vision failed him. He felt claws rake his back, then snapped his spine with their ferocity. He began to fall only to feel serrated teeth clench the side of his neck, then yank back, tearing out his jugular. A spray of blood spattered the ground in a trail as the force of the attack launched he and the still latched Hollow into the river. He was paralyzed, his blade had been stuck into the ground, and his heartbeat was slowing. He figured he may as well try a last resort as he lay dying. He pushed every bit of his Reiatsu and Reiryoku and even his spirit to his blade, trying to make it do something, anything. All he succeeded in doing was creating a bright flash, and then he saw the outline of a figure as the last of his life ebbed away, the river running red with his life blood as Sho Naitomea ceased to live as a Shinigami.

Quiet breathed the air that surrounded the carnivorous being. Its tainted crimson orbs scanned over the morsel he was eating; a burst of light temporarily blinded the being before its attention turned forth. A female, a rather peculiar one with blonde hair that trailed down and curled at her very hips. That curvaceous frame work could attract any mere mortal male at whim. But, why was she staring coldly, blankly at him? What was the point in doing so? She only made the being mad and upset with her presence interrupting his meal. Her arms were crossed just under her bodice as she took a few small steps towards the river side and sat down simply staring, glaring, scanning the hollow. Those death giving azure orbs that spilled of a sorrowful intent.

When Raikou looked over at her and darted a serious glare, she waved her hand in a manner to tell him that he should continue. Without a moment's hesitation he did so. his mouth clasping at the man's neck and pulling at the flesh until it ripped off. Sho's ruby fluid trailed slowly down the side of the beast's maw. The girl seemed to not care nor be affected; her skin was pale and she seemed to be wearing a cerulean dress that ended just above her knees.

The consistent watching ruined his appetite. The river continued to drain the man's blood as it overpassed his corpse. The beast made a gentle stride over to the female and growled; no response besides staring was what she gave. Her fingertips reached for the mask of the Hollow.Was she honestly that brave to be so kind to a Hollow? Well, if she was then she wouldn't be the first one. But, the circumstances were a bit different then they were now.

Raikou backed up and the girl stopped her hand where it was. Tears formed within those sapphire hues. She seemed sad, alone, distraught but wouldn't show such emotions. What was with this girl? She stood up before the hollow and motioned him to follow. He wondered why he didn't just pounce and finish her there. Something was preventing him....something ominous. Is this where another branch of his fate begins to stem?
